Re: Health and Fitness Check-in ~ 8.1.16

  • What is your health/nutrition goal this week? Continue to eat heathy while keeping my calories up. What is your fitness goal this week? Find some good prenatal yoga videos on YouTube or the like and actually get motivated to do them. Anyone know anything good? I'm going to start classes once we move, but something to tide me over until then would really help me feel less like a lump. Any challenges this week? The heat/humidity still has kept me trapped inside. I'm so looking forward to our move at the end of the month. I'll think I'll live outside to make up for this deathly Texas summer. I may be a permate fixture next to my moms pool. How did you do with your goals last week? Ate pretty well. Hit my calorie goal everyday without much junk so I'm happy. GTKY: What is your favorite Olympic sport to watch? Gymnastics. I was a gymnast for years. Bonus Bumpie Challenge: Try an outdoor activity this week...go for a swim, a hike, or just a lap around your neighborhood. I wish! All these things were daily/weekend routine for us until we moved to the south. Now the outside hates me. I'll be back soon enough California...

What is your health/nutrition goal this week?  Focus on more whole foods with some treats mixed in for balance.

What is your fitness goal this week?  Hoping for at least 3-4 active days - Zumba a couple times, treadmill workout, arms workout...

Any challenges this week?  Nope, for once... which is nice. That could change, ha.

How did you do with your goals last week?  Not bad for what I was planning to do, since we had a busy week. I only got one workout in (Zumba), but made it count.

GTKY:  What is your favorite Olympic sport to watch? I can't pick one, as I love the Olympics. Summer... I love gymnastics, beach volleyball, swimming, and some running events. Winter - grew up loving figure skating, bobsled (Cool Runnings!), and hockey.

Bonus Bumpie Challenge:  Try an outdoor activity this week...go for a swim, a hike, or just a lap around your neighborhood.

  • What is your health/nutrition goal this week?
Ok. Let me think. No gummies. Green stuff every day. Light early dinner every day (reflux necessity). Watch my portions.
What is your fitness goal this week?
Mon - elliptical and strength (check), Tues - swim, Wed - travel day (off), Thurs-Sun... I have to play by ear but I want to get in some planks, squats and push-ups. Some walks, maybe a swim.
    Any challenges this week?
We're visiting the in-laws Wed through next Thurs. We'll be active to some degree but I don't have a ton of control over when and how.
How did you do with your goals last week?
No chance. I got sick, then DH got sick. Some days I ate pretty much nothing. Some days there was a line of gummy bears continually marching to my mouth. No work outs after Monday's but we did do some walking around this weekend.
GTKY:  What is your favorite Olympic sport to watch?
Track events. I think running is the most beautiful and pure form of human athleticism.
Bonus Bumpie Challenge:  Try an outdoor activity this week...go for a swim, a hike, or just a lap around your neighborhood.
    Will do.

  • What is your health/nutrition goal this week?
Keep it up - mostly healthy foods with some splurges here and there.

What is your fitness goal this week?
To be active - doing anything - for at least three days. Please. Just do it.

I think I have more of a plan moving forward at least. It's been hard to workout in the evenings because I want to see DD, and I work 40 hours a week. So I discovered some walking trails around my office last week and today I mapped out a mile walk that I did at lunch. I'm going to aim to go for a lunchtime walk 3-5 days of the week, and I think that will make me feel much better workout-wise moving forward.

    Any challenges this week?
The usual. It's hot outside. There are evil Zika carrying mosquitos in the next state over. I have my own little 20-month old parasite running around demanding attention.

How did you do with your goals last week?
Better than expected. I ran a mile on Wednesday, which at noon, was pretty impressive. On Friday at lunch I decided to explore trails around work. And I ran two miles yesterday, followed by a walk through the park and farmer's market.

GTKY:  What is your favorite Olympic sport to watch?
    Gymnastics

Bonus Bumpie Challenge:  Try an outdoor activity this week...go for a swim, a hike, or just a lap around your neighborhood.

What is your health/nutrition goal this week? I started a Whole30 today, so basically, to stick to that. I've been wanting to do this for a while, but I knew I wouldn't be able to avoid alcohol unless I was pregnant.

What is your fitness goal this week? Go to the fitness classes I'm paying for the rest of the week! I slept terribly last night and just couldn't get myself up for today's 5:30 class.

Any challenges this week? Probably just detoxing from sugar. Bleh. I do have to say--I planned out all my meals and packed food with me for my two appointments today so that I wouldn't find myself hangry and stuck in a sea of non Whole30 carbs. #victory

How did you do with your goals last week? Goals? Last week? Last week was fair week back home in Indiana. There were no goals, other than to eat every fried goodie that crossed my path. Which I was so successful at, by the way.

GTKY:  What is your favorite Olympic sport to watch? Gymnastics! I just love watching the way the bodies move. It's gorgeous. ETA: and to add to this, I'd love to enroll my child in gymnastics. My good friend growing up was in gymnastics, and she was a beast. I think it encourages really good physical fitness without the body shaming of ballet. (No offense to former ballerinas...I think ballet is also gorgeous, but from what I understand, there's a standard there.)

  • @PensiveCrayon I was in gymnastics from the age of 3 to 13. I really liked it, although it took a beating on my wrists/ankles. I never got into competition, but just went for weekly sessions. I enjoyed being in it. I loved being sore afterwards, ha.

  • What is your health/nutrition goal this week?  I've been doing well at eating whole food breakfast and lunches, and have added protein shakes (since meat grosses me out right now). Side note when i was looking for a good protein mix to take, i came across hemp protein. The one I bought is Nutiva brand and literally only has one ingredient, hemp protein. I am trying to watch chemicals and additives in food, so the one ingredient mix got me really excited!

What is your fitness goal this week?  The last time I posted I said I was going to start prenatal yoga... this has not happened yet. So my goal this week is to actually have my husband move some furniture to give me some space to do it in the living room.

Any challenges this week?  I'm having a hard time not becoming overwhelmed. Pinterest and the internet are the worst for me right now. I know I need to get more stuff and get the nursery ready more, but I cannot seem to make any decisions this week. I was at BRU because I wanted to get something sweet for the babies, and i literally picked something out and put it in my cart, then changed my mind and put it back like 10 times. I left without purchasing anything!

How did you do with your goals last week?  I had no goals last week, so great!

GTKY:  What is your favorite Olympic sport to watch? Gymnastics and ice skating, but I am boycotting the olympics... i think permanently. It just drives me crazy that these poor cities vie for the games to come to them, build stadiums sized for the gods, and then when the games are done the cities are left in physical and financial ruin. Plus, all of these athletes are going to be bringing Zika virus back to their home countries... okay, I'm done.

Bonus Bumpie Challenge:  Try an outdoor activity this week...go for a swim, a hike, or just a lap around your neighborhood.
  • What is your health/nutrition goal this week?  Basically to keep up the healthy eating. I eat about five servings of dairy a day haha.

What is your fitness goal this week?  Monday: pilates (done) Tuesday: barre (done); Wednesday: I am working as a delivery person for a charity golf thing for seven hours; Thurs: Zumba; Friday: elliptical 30 mins, weights 15. Weekend, work on nursery.

Any challenges this week?  Wednesday will be a challenge. We have a golf cart to make deliveries but it will be HOT (CT) and I have to lift/carry things.

How did you do with your goals last week?  I didn't make any goals but made it to the gym 2x, skipped my planned Friday because I knew spending all day at Six Flags with my nephews would be exhausting (ended up walking six miles, not counting the water park part where my apple watch was in a locker!)

GTKY:  What is your favorite Olympic sport to watch? Gymnastics!

Bonus Bumpie Challenge:  Try an outdoor activity this week...go for a swim, a hike, or just a lap around your neighborhood.
Will try to get out for tennis or a walk this weekend (in addition to Weds)!
