I have learned that bleeding in early pregnancy is way more common than I ever realized but still worries me like crazy. I would love to hear other peoples stories about any bleeding to help ease my mind.
I am 8.5 weeks and last night started bleeding bright red blood. Went to the ER and everything looked fine. Baby had a heartbeat and the bleeding stopped after about 1.5-2 hours. Went to my RE this morning again and baby looked great but they saw some blood near the cervix and said to probably expect more.
What's your story??
Re: who has had some sort of bleeding??
The second series started soon after I entered the second trimester. It wasn't "brought on" by anything like a BM or sex. It started out as pink spotting that progressively got redder but I would still consider it to be spotting. Then, I started having clots the size of my pinky tip with just a few bigger. The doctor had me come in to check the heartbeat and make sure I wasn't having incompetent cervix issues. Everything sounded and looked fine. The spotting continued for almost a month straight. I'd usually have a one day break every 3-4 days and whenever it started back up again, I would have tiny clots. The doctor had no explanation for the bleeding, but said I did have pink and swollen glands on my cervix. My cervix was long, but she could put a pinky tip in but not through the opening. Apparently that is a normal varient, but I had to pay close attention to any feelings of pressure or heaviness in case it was an early indication of an incompetent cervix. It was a stressful month! Luckily and knock on wood, I haven't had bleeding since about 19 weeks, and my cervix length looked good at my 20 week anatomy scan.

I to had bleeding, but compare to the two previous ladies it was very minor. (But scared me like hell) I was in week 5. US didn't show any embryo just a ys, but they weren't to worried as I was early. At week 6 I had a new us, embryo was 4 times as big (just a gray spot)
Havent had any bleeding since and am 10 weeks.
Still scared almost every time I go to the toilet (and boy does one pee a lot), it's tough to let that worry go.
Hang in there. Even though they are very very tiny they are fighters my doctor told me!

DE IVF #1 March 2016 - BFP
I've heard that hematomas are a lot more common in IVF pregnancies. I had my first appointment with my midwife yesterday and she said bleeding is very common and a chance of recurrence later in the first trimester.

I also had one episode of pink/brown spotting at 7 weeks, but I stayed a lot calmer, and again, babies were fine. 13 weeks today!
I had bleeding on 5w5d, started as brown discharge, turned to red bleeding. Didn't soak a pad, but stained a pad and there was one oblong clot- FREAKED ME OUT. I was switched from inserts to PIO injections that night, no bleeding for 3 days. Last night, before bed I wiped and saw brown discharge and 1 tiny red clot.
Sono today looked okay, significant growth, I finally can see a yolk

Bleeding started again last night, but nothing like the other night so I was more relaxed. I put myself on bedrest for a majority of the day and was out for a couple of hours late in the afternoon. **sorry to be disgusting, but ....** Since I'm on Endometrin inserts, any blood that I see now seems to just be coming out with discharge from the insert. So I don't think I'm activity bleeding even if I see a little blood. I'm being careful not to put the insert in too far, since I'm worried about shaking things up too much in there.
I don't think I'll be on complete bedrest tomorrow, but I'm still going to be cautious until my next appointment. I'm just going to do some light cleaning around the house and then take lots of breaks in between. I know I'm not in the clear yet, but I'm not quite as scared as I was the first time I saw blood.
You should consider switching from the inserts to the PIO injections. The inserts can cause a lot of sensitivity and can irritate you down there. Call your doctor and see what he/she thinks.
Shots are a pain in the ass, literally- but will maybe eliminate some of the bleeding from irritation
