How do you know when your mucus plug is completely out?

My mucus plug has been coming out for weeks now, but my appointment on Friday (July 29) my doctor said I'm 2cm dilated and 75% effaced, and that I can have the baby at any time now, she also believes I won't make it to the next appointment (August 5th).
I'm just really wondering how do you know your mucus plug is completely out?

Have you been able to dig out your baby from any of the plops? If not, then you probably still have some of it.

I'm a little concerned ladies, my vagina snot hasn't produced any glitter yet. Does that mean baby is going to stay in there.....forever?? I will say, the vagina cold is as sickening as the man cold tho!
