Re: July IUI

  • @BecauseLove Oh my gosh. I hope your Dr will schedule the beta for you. 81 days of waiting is not fun. I can't imagine he'd say no. Good luck on Sunday...how are you feeling about that?

  • @Toby102008 And to all the other girls checking in with me for support... Thanks.  Seriously, it helps to have this forum.

@hopefulmom Yeah, had my first u/s and blood work on Monday, will go again Wednesday with the goal of trigger shot that night and IUI Friday.  They said since I responded on schedule last time, there's no reason we should expect a wildly different schedule this time.

  • @isthisthereallife It's so hard staying positive when the numbers are stacked against you. But it can happen and I'm keeping my fingers crossed it did. I'm sure me being positive and assuming it worked is going to bite me in the a** next week. But I don't want to be miserable when it is possible it worked. Only time will tell. And we will have to take a break next cycle to save up again for the next one. DH isn't getting any overtime so there isn't much left to go in savings right now. It sucks because I just want to jump right into another one but I know it's not going to happen.

@kristynelson13 Fingers crossed for a miracle.

@becauselove I hate that they make me wait until cd 40 to induce when I know I'm not pregnant and AF won't come. I'm like just induce it already! What college did you go to in the UP?

You ladies are so brave to host and attend baby showers. I don't think I could emotionally handle that right now.
  • @BecauseLove I hope you are able to get a Beta blood test so that you can pin point your next steps. I can't imagine being in that kind of limbo. Fingers crossed for you!

We went to see Dave Matthews Band in Charleston... They were such a significant piece of my youth/college days. I saw them every summer for years, but hadn't seen them since 2007 and they are taking time off from touring after this summer, so we went for old time's sake. It was a great show!

I am back at work today and have plenty to do, but have trouble focusing during these TWWs....

@Sasha29 I am glad you have a plan to move ahead. I also hope you got to indulge in some non-TTC activities before moving right into another cycle! It seems like this is my whole world lately, and while I didn't want it to be all-consuming, I don't see any alternatives since there is something to do at every point in the cycle.

I started reading a book last night that seems like it will keep my interest, so I am happy about that! I love to read and haven't read for pleasure in a little while, so maybe that's a good way to kill my last week in the TWW.

  • Toby102008 Heres to hoping there wont be a next cycle for either of us! But I def know what you mean about saving. Every extra penny that we've been getting has gone into fixing up the house. DH has been working so hard. We'll get there.

@fivetimesnoluck What are you reading?? Would love a new book!

  • @Isthisthereallife I am an Amazon prime member, and I just took advantage of their Kindle First program where you get to download one book per month that won't be released until the next month... The book is called Everything We Keep, A Novel by Kerry Lonsdale. I believe it comes out August 1, but if you have Prime, then you can use it like I did! I just started it, but it strikes me a beach read kinda book - not very intellectual, but definitely interesting.

@BecauseLove thanks!! I made him a basket of sports baby items and put it in the oven, and put one post it on the counter saying I think there's something in the oven. Then on the basket I put a post it that said well in my "oven." He's excited!

@kristynelson13 good luck tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!
  • Morning everyone!! @jkd2388 Good luck on your 2nd beta this morning!! Not sure who usually draws your blood, but Michelle is vacation. There was a different nurse who I've never met but was nice! Let us know how it goes!!

In other news...my wonderful, amazing, DH has been trying to convince me that we need to buy a drill press. The last thing he needs is more tools.

What I'm trying to say is, I have a husband for sale if anyone is interested!!

  • So I had my progesterone blood test this morning and it came back at a 7.5. he wants to see it at at least 15. Doubling my dose to once at morning and once at night. I'm trying not to read into what that means - but I'm a little sure. Anyone else have experience with his?

@Isthisthereallife I am sorry, I am not sure what it means exactly. But, I do think it's good you tested and know so you can remedy it at the right time.

These ranges were provided to me in my electronic chart after a draw one time, so I am posting here so that you can see where you are isn't far off from what's considered normal for pregnancy:

    Follicular phase 0.2 - 1.5
    Luteal phase 1.7 - 27.0
    Ovulation phase 0.8 - 3.0
    Pregnant
    First trimester 8.8 - 48.6
    Second trimester 12.4 - 75.8
    Third trimester 58.5 - 222.3
    Postmenopausal 0.1 - 0.8

@kristynelson13 you've been on my mind today! Did you get results back from your beta? Sending you creepy internet hugs. xo

ETA: @Isthisthereallife I also think my OB always wanted to see me above 12...

Hey ladies.... As I thought beta was negative. Kind of bummed but my expectations were low. On to IUI #2. Next cycle they are putting me on 5mg of femara instead of Clomid. Clomid caused my lining to thin lower than normal ranges... So now I wait for AF and start all over again. Has anyone done femara? What are the differences?
happy hour is calling my name.

  • @kristynelson13 Damn it! You definitely deserve a drink. I am sorry for the BFN. It just sucks.

I have never taken Femara, but it seems common, so hopefully others will be able to offer some insight.

  • @fivetimesnoluck Thank you, that was helpful. I am hoping that double the dose helps. Even though I'm preparing myself for a BFN, when she was talking to me today - I couldn't help but tear up. We'll see what happens though.

@kristynelson13 I'm sorry girlie! I agree, you've earned that drink, enjoy it. FX for the next round!

  • Hey All...Kinda freaking out. My nurse ok'd a beta test after I have had constant BFN's but no AF. The beta test was yesterday and I just got a call today....She called and said that the test was positive but  only a 7 (which is positive) but not a good sign. So...I am pregnant BUT they don't know if it is gonna stick (chemical pregnancy)...so tomorrow I have to go take another Beta to find out more and take a progesterone test. So uffda! I am kinda freaking out. We haven't ever had a real positive of any sort...but at the same time this is likely to just be a chemical pregnancy.

Anyways...off to google the likelyhood that this might be real vrs fade away into AF or progesterone to cause AF.

kristynelson13 so sorry! I hope Femera is your lucky drug. I like Fermera...very little to no side effects. Usually 1 mature follie and no worries about lining. Hugs!

jkd2388 That is the sweetest! I hope you took video or pics! I bet your husband was so excited!

Honestly I am happy for my prego friends and I like babies so it isn't really an issue for me. There are moments when I get jealous but it isn't friends it is more like strangers or people with like 6 kids, etc.

  • @kristynelson13 sorry about the bfn!! I had the same problem with clomid and femara didn't thin my lining. And I didn't have as many side effects as clomid. You deserve to have a drink or two!

@BecauseLove I'm hoping maybe it could still turn around for you! Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

My second beta came back today at 255. I go back on Monday for another check.
  • @becauselove Oh wow! Congrats! You never know, it could stick. Fingers crossed for you and hopefully you will know more tomorrow.

@kristynelson13 Im so sorry. I have done both Clomid and Femara. I didn't respond to Clomid but I did with the Femara. Femara resulted in way fewer side effects for me so that was another plus. She did 5mg for me this cycle then had to increase to 7.5 for an additional 5 days since I wasn't growing follies very fast. Next time if this one doesn't work she's keeping me on the 7.5 for 7 days. I've read a lot of women who don't respond or don't respond well to Clomid have much better luck with Femara. Good luck!

@isthisthereallife How is your TWW going? I feel like time is standing still. How is it only Friday?!?

  • Hoping everyone with betas this coming week have a nice, relaxing weekend!! Anyone have any fun plans?
  • Thanks guys! Still don't know what to make of it all. BETA #s doubled and we are now getting faint lines on a poas. But the Dr on call called today and said things are positive but not good numbers at that it made just all fade away... so catiously hopeful at best she said. So Monday the Dr from on call is going to call with a plan...which didn't sound very posture to me. Uffda so I could still use fx and good thoughts. It means the world to be able to have your support.

How is the weekend going for everyone?

  • @BecauseLove sending positive thoughts and prayers your way!! Will keep my fingers crossed for you that it's good news Monday. Keep up posted.

Im just doing laundry and cleaning my house this weekend. Having parents over for dinner tomorrow but nothing too exciting.
  • @BecauseLove still have you in my thoughts! Hope today's shower goes well.

Hope everyone else is doing well! It's going to be a busy week for betas!

I went to a Rotary event yesterday, carpooled with some friends and then came back to DH doing some house stuff. We've decided to paint our living room today so we went to Home Depot last night and are getting ready to knock it out.

Later today, we are going to visit some dear friends who just had their baby on Monday. They also had multiple losses like us, so we are truly happy for them and look forward to meeting their little girl!

I want to see Ghostbusters but we may not have time, because I need to leverage DH's home improvement motivation!

  • @becauselove I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and keep my fingers crossed for you! Let us know how tomorrow goes. <3

I'm stuck working this weekend, but at least it's making the time go by a little faster. We're leaving for Michigan Friday for the weekend and I really want to POAS then, it'll be 11 DPO. 12 days past IUI. I'm not sure exactly how you count DPO. Do you count the actual day you ovulate??? So Friday might still be early. I don't want to wait all weekend, but I also don't want to ruin the weekend if I get a BFN, so I don't know what to do. We will see how the week goes I guess.
  • Hello lovely ladies

@becauselove I want to be excited for you, hoping u have a sticky bean and it's just too early.  It's exciting to kno that ur egg and his sperm connected, it's huge.  At least you kno uve done it or at least kno it's really possible!! Thinking the best for u!!

still hoping we'll hear some more BFPS from the rest of u ladies.

as for me I finished my last day of Clomid and went to the dr and I was a bit disappointed this morning as i only had one mature follicle I was at least hoping for 2 so I could have more of a chance and would love multiples.  Obviously I kno one would be great BUT was hoping for more.  Trying to stay positive and will trigger tomorrow.  Planning and hoping all goes well and do 2 IUIs.  I'm almost afraid to write it thinking sow thing will go wrong and offset it, but I'm gonna try and stay positive and hope this could be the one lucky follie to do it!!!

  • Morning ladies! I'm playing catch up here but I hope you all had a great weekend!

@kristynelson13 I'm sorry this cycle wasn't the one!  Fingers crossed for the next one.  They added Femara to my cycle this time and it seemed to help a lot!

@Isthisthereallife Thinking of you and crossing fingers that you're not out!

@BecauseLove FX this sticks for you!! Sending thoughts and good vibes your way!

@Hopeful_mom Stay positive girlie!  It only takes one!

AFM I am sooo anxious for this week.  DH decided he doesn't want me to test earlier than what my RE wants so we are waiting to test until Friday (annoying lol) but oh well!  DH and I BD'd the other evening and I had some spotting afterwards which has always been a sign that AF is on the way so I'm really hoping thats not the case!  Since I'm on progesterone I didn't think AF would show up until after I stopped taking it.  Anyway, I'm trying not to look too much into it and just stay positive.  Here's to hoping Friday gets here soon!

  • @fivetimesnoluck  We sort of jumped right into the next cycle, and I have to say, the second time around on Clomid wasn't fun.  I'm done it now, but still getting the headaches, and the dreams this time were out of control, as was the exhaustion and feeling like a furnace all the time (which let's face it, a record heat wave didn't help).  That said, our RE told us in no uncertain terms "do not act like you're pregnant until you're actually, positively, blood-test-came-back-positive pregnant, or you'll resent the process and each other."  So we're not really *not* doing things we'd otherwise do unless I'm like too tired or something.  We're really trying not to put life totally on hold while we do this.  It is hard, because of the constant doctors appointments and blood draws and all, but we're doing the best we can.

@BecauseLove  Sending good vibes your way...  Hanging in limbo is always awful, so hopefully things turn a good corner for you soon!
  • Morning everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend!

A lot to catch up on from the weekend! FX for all our ladies with BFPs!! Sending lots of positive, sticky thoughts!

And for those of us still in our TWW, hopefully it flies by! I don't know about you ladies, but Friday cannot get here soon enough. For no other reason than it was a burning a hole in my cabinet, I POAS this morning - as expected, it was negative. But regardless, I think it's still early as my beta isn't until Friday.

Your calm weekend sounds nice! Do your parents live close to you and your SO?

    fivetimesnoluck Thanks! :)

Did you end up seeing Ghost Busters? What color are you painting your living room? Congrats to your friends. :) Are you on Rotary as a volunteer or did you travel abroad with Rotary?

    Toby102008 Thank you :)

I hope working went fast this weekend. Yeah about your trip to MI this next week!

DPO #1 is the day after you ovulate. Hopefully you will be an early positive tester. :)

    TW...

We didn't get a BFP on a pOAS that seemed possibly legit until just yesterday -everything before that had been squinters...like super squniters and not until like DPO 16. My numbers are still so low (or who knows if they are going to last)

Hopeful_mom Thank you! It is so scary to be hopeful! Yesterday I just spent the day pretending like it is the same old same old where I just wait out my AF for extra weeks. I feel like I have spent a lot of time preparing and learning about what it might take to get KU'd but I have no clue what or how to prepare for a possible chemical pregnancy.

What CD are you? Exciting about a mature follie. With Femera I only get 1 big one (and even that is extra lucky as it doesn't happen every time). FX for you! When is your next appointment? Follow up US or Trigger?

Yeah IVF isn't covered here either...and the older I get the more expensive it gets...plus its 5 plus hours away so we would have to take some serious time off work to make it all happen. I get that the world doesn't want to pay for people having crazy tons of kids...but I feel like anyone that needs an IVF should get at least 1 or 2 with insurance covering it...I mean that is what I am paying in for insurance. The last 2 years I have gotten the most expensive insurance thinking we might get KU'd and need good med insurance to cover a birth etc. BUT I haven't used it at all (not a dime) because nothing is covered by insurance for fertility here through blue cross blue shield.

Hugs! Relaxation is smart...keeping calm for little bean possibilities.

    kaityh1Thanks :)
FX for you that you will get good news on Friday! :) So much patience needed to wait for POAS. :)

Sasha29 Thanks! So far so super frustrating. I am just not sure if I should be hopeful or prepared that AF will start up soon.

That is really interesting about your Dr's thoughts on don't act like your Ku'd until you know for sure your Ku'd. Good to live your life...and keep some room just to enjoy things. I know I felt better TTC when I stopped tracking every symptom. It made it a bit more annoying when I was trying to compare one cycle to the next but it really helped my day to day mentality.

    When is your US?

Isthisthereallife I hope this next week goes fast for you. Anything planned to help distract yourself? TWW's suck! Hopefully Friday will have awesome news!

  • @BecauseLove Thinking of you girl!! Lots and lots of sticky thoughts your way. I heard, and I'm not sure if this is true or not, that that's possible if it's late implantation? I'm not sure if that's a thing. Thinking of you either way!

We're doing some more work around the house. Yesterday DH finished the flooring in another room and I'm working on painting trim. He took time off starting Thursday to try and finish up the rest of the house so my job is to make sure him and his friend are well fed for the next week. Hopefully the cooking and the progress will keep me busy.
