bug repellent with deet

Hi ladies!  So, I just read that zika mosquitoes are now in the US, one Florida zip code specifically.  Has anyone found an insect repellent that they're happy with?  Something with Deet and has a decent hand feel for daily use?  Also, where do you put it?  Not on face, right? Thank you!!!

but OFF deep woods has deet and i've been happy with it. also, there's a brand called Sawyer's that doesn't (I don't think) have DEET, but comsumer reports did a test and it came back as the most effective one against the strain of mosquitos that are carrying Zika...hope this helps!

I was using a natural bug spray before that smelled so nice, but I know it's useless against zika.

We spent almost two weeks camping this month and I used Repel 100. It's 98% deet, which irks me, but it was the lesser evil. It worked great. Seriously, the only times I got bitten was when I pulled my pants down to pee. I guess I didn't think to spray my butt. Mosquitos love me. I did use it on my face, but I followed the instructions to spray onto my hands and then rub on my face.

I got this because I am not comfortable using deet. This is also recommended as effective against Zika.

I am not comfortable using deet, and used babyganics last summer. I spoke with my midwife (who is about as crunchy as they come) and she stressed that deet is extremely important and to use the highest concentration I could find. She also said that the non-deet combinations are great ordinarily, but not for preventing Zika. (Previously, I saw an OB who gave the same advice, but I was hopeful that the midwives would say deet is terrible, they didn't.) So I went and bought some off. My gameplan is to avoid the outdoors this summer and never have to use it. It sucks, but deet and Zika are both scary.

I use Off Family Care smooth and dry.

It smells good and doesn't leave a residue. My only complaint is it leaves a white film if you get it in your clothes, which you are supposed to spray anyway.

@ThePax89  I just saw this article earlier today.  Cutter Lemon Eucalyptus works almost as well as the the off deep woods (25% deet) and it appears to last longer.

ETA: lemon eucalyptus oil is listed by the cdc as a proven option for prevention
