Stretch Marks

Any of you moms doing anything to lighten them. My husband was pointing mine out the other night not in a cruel way at all just saying how deep they were. I didn't get my marks till the very last few weeks of pregnancy. I read a thing on Pinterest that said to rub Vicks vapor rub on them wrap with plastic overnight and exfoliate next morning in shower and within days should be lighter. Now I am not ashamed of my stretch marks at all I earned them bringing my rainbow baby Home but lately I have wanted to work on myself I'm already pre-pregnancy weight but still want to tone and lose some more and along with that lighten my stretch marks I guess ive been feeling uncomfortable. Any tips or tricks your doing would be nice to hear.

Re: Stretch Marks

  • I find the ones on my stomach have faded a lot. Not really noticable anymore. I also got mine the last few weeks. But the ones on my love handles are still very much there, red ones. I havent tried anything on them just hoping they will go away on their own but I'm curious to see if anyone has had any luck!

  • I've come to accept mine. They aren't very dark, but I'm still carrying about 12 pounds of baby weight. It's discouraging
  • Stretch marks are scars. They fad with time but will never truly go away. No amount of miracle cream, exfoliation, or wrapping will make them fade any sooner.
  • I didn't get any on my stomach or sides, but the ones on my boobs are ridiculous. They have faded quite a bit, but I think the only thing that really does anything is time. Wear those marks with pride!
  • I got mine during my last month of pregnancy too. All over my stomach and very dark. They have faded but not much. I'm back to the weight I was when I got pregnant but needed to lose weight then. I only gained about 20 pounds but was already overweight. Its impossible to diet while breastfeeding, I'm just so damn hungry. I've never been one to show off my tummy so I guess the stretch marks aren't a big deal. I'd certainly rather have them than not!

The old ones I have (my DD is ten) are extremely faded. Sadly they don't go away, but these cute kids are worth it.
it took a long time but now I'm not bothered by them

  • Ugh I've got em on my butt and boobs, that's all. Haven't gone away but I haven't tried anything either. I gained around 50 or 60 pounds :( so I have a lot more to lose. I was underweight before I got pregnant, so I have to still figure out what a healthy weight goal is for me.
  • Pah, I've accepted I gained about 40ish pounds during pregnancy... I've got tiger stripes all over my tummy area and I've just discovered them on my left arm..
Way to make me feel better about myself
  • @carlyhammond I've got them all the way down my thighs, past my freaking knees. I feel ya.
