March moms, show us your furbabies!! Are they going to be new big brothers/sisters or are they already acquainted with kids? I'm nervous how my cat will react to a baby but excited to find out!!
Here is my cat Reggie who is right now a spoiled only furbaby who loves to lounge outside on the deck!!
Here's my Shawn & Juliet (named after the tv show Psych).
ETA: I'm not worried about them with the baby. We have my nieces over all the time (ages 1 year to 8 years) and they are great with them. The kids pick them up and carry them around, which they won't let adults do, and the kitties just put up with it. They give me a "Help!!" look but have never hissed at, scratched, or bitten anyone.
Here are my fur babies Cooper and Ziggy. They are not accustomed to kids so much but seem to like the ones they see in the neighborhood so I'm not too worried. Plus they love each other so they keep each other entertained which will be good when human baby arrives. Also, yes, the spoon often...
This is a pic of my little fur-baby when she was in the shelter (only pic I have on hand right now). She's such a spunky yet loving cat, and seems to know I'm expecting. She likes to sleep on my belly when I'm sleeping lately. I don't know, however, how she'll do with a little one around, but she's only about a year old, so I'm hoping she'll be ok with it.

This is my Rotty, Gaia. She's a hoot. She loves our 2 year old and lets him crawl all over her and give her hugs and kisses. We had a male Rotty named Titan that we had to put down a couple of months ago and it was the one of the hardest days of my life. He was such a sweet dog and a gentle giant. He was my guardian.
YES!! FURBABIES!! Here is our 3 year old girl Reese - a pic from yesterday when she went Kayaking in Maine with us! She will be a first time big sister
Here are our babies.. Monti is our 5yr old, 70lb Lab Mix. We adopted her at 6weeks so I'm not really sure what she's mixed with but looks Rottie!! She is amazing with DS from the minute we brought him home!! She's also great with her 4lb sister Joie (havanese maltese(?)) Joie gets jealous of DS and barks* for attention but with him she's very gentle. Not worried about adding another tiny human!!
Edit because autocorrect is the bane of my existence... But also necessary sometimes. Can't win.
What a fun Friday thread! This is our 4 year old pit mix Rory. He is a giant baby. He will be a first time big brother, but does really well with kids that we come in contact with on walks, etc. and has done well with my nephew since he was a toddler. He does seem to sense that something is up....he follows me around the house way more often than he used to....
Me 29 I DH 28 Married in April 2007 One Furbaby - Adorable Pitt Mix 15 Months TTC....2nd Cycle of Letrozole - Success! Expecting our first two little miracles - Boy/Girl Twins! - EDD March 3, 2017 High Risk Pregnancy - Type 1 Diabetic; Hypothyroidism; Di/Di Twin Pregnancy
I have two cats, Snoop and Boots. I can already tell they'll avoid an infant like the plague, given how they dislike the sound of a baby crying on TV! They'll also be quite jealous, because they both occupy my lap about 70% of the time I'm home. Sorry, cats. You're going to have to learn to share your mama. Here they are, doing what they do best:
Here is our pup, Guinness! He's a Doberman/Shepherd mix and he'll be a first time big brother Not too worried about him being around a new baby...some friends brought their 8 week old over on July 4th and he did great with her, and he's done awesome with other friend's toddlers.
This is my furbaby, Wally. He was not too enthused when we brought our first home. As long as the baby was quiet, he'd stay in the same room, but the moment he cried or squealed he shot out of the room to hide under the bed. I don't anticipate him being any different with this one But he is getting quite old, he'll be 14 this fall.
This is our Diesel baby, he likes to cuddle his teddy's bottom, duck hunt, and ride jet skis. He is a 3y/o black lab and weighs in around 100lbs but still thinks he is a lap dog! He is our only child at the moment and he will absolutely hate not getting all the attention at first but he does really well with our friends' kids so we're hoping he will get used to it pretty quick.
Here is our fur baby!!! He is a one year old pit/lab mix. He loves our four year old, so I'm hoping he is just as good with the baby. (I don't know why it posted in the middle of my words.....)
I might have a problem. I have 3 cats. Pearl is 8 (long hair tabby), Ruby is 3 (short hair tabby), and Aldo is 1 (Med hair tuxedo). They are all SO DIFFERENT.
These are my furbabies They all do fine with DS who is 11months old. So they will be fine with new LO. Cats and dogs don't necessarily like each othe though! Lol they live on separate floors of the house. We had another dog but had to give him to a family member as he kept snipping at kids that would come over and then growled at DS once he started crawling so DH said that was it
I am like 98% sure this has already been a thread (somebody had a beautiful horse and I was super envious!), but I am happy for any excuse to talk about my pup!!
This is Benny, named after Benny the Jet Rodriguez. I rescued him from a shelter when he was 1 and he just turned 7 last week. He is smart, loving, and I can't wait to see him adapt to a baby (he loves our nieces and nephews so I am not worried).
@EnglishTeacherMama - The previous thread was pretty early on before a lot of the later due date posters would have even gotten a BFP. It's always great to talk about our furry friends anywho.
This is my fur baby Dakota! She's a nine year old St. Bernard and weighs roughly 150 lb. She is truly a gentle giant. When my nieces were younger they used to follow her around and use her as a pillow, so I'm not too worried about her with a baby
This is my big furbaby Bandit, he's a 7 yr old Great Dane and he'll be a first time brother. I think he's going to do just fine with a baby in the house but we'll see
We have 2 dogs. Katie is an old girl black lab who we rescued about 7years ago. She's about 12.She has never been good with kids...but DS is a different story. She loves him. He is constantly all over her and even snuggles with "Cakey" before bed. We welcomed Brutus into our home in May. He's a 15 week old black labradoodle. He's a handful and is still getting used to his body! Lol He and DS get along, Brutus is by no means aggressive, but he's a puppy so he's rough and DS doesn't like that.
This is Brodie and Tucker my little furbabies!! They both are 4 and will be first time big brothers!!! I have two nieces and they love playing with them and are very attentive. I just hope they don't get too jealous
This is our girl, Maggie Mae . We rescued her from a shelter when she was 8 weeks, last October. Her mom and all her siblings were dropped off right after she gave birth. Her mom was an Australian Shepherd and the dad was a lab. She's the sweetest dog ever, she's already protective over my belly, DH can't even touch it or she barks at him lol. she's very used to kids and LOVES them. My 5 yr old tells everyone that's her sister. With my two stepkids here she's been in heaven having so much attention and kids to play with. We'll probably have to watch her around the baby because she has no concept of personal space and will want to be all over the baby but they'll be best friends in no time I'm sure.
This is Mia. She is a typical fickle cat. She hates her brothers.
We have 2 Labradoodle boys.
Kodi (a little over 1.5) is a small medium (30lbs) and super loving and loyal. I call him my shadow.
Jax (14months) is a mini Labradoodle (22lbs). He favorite things are retrieving and snuggling fleece blankets. He's super I dependent and strong willed. The opposite of his older brother.
This is my current situation:
Kodi is super intuitive and def knows something is different about Mommy.
Love this thread!! These are some mighty cute fur babies.
This is Cake, my 13 year old chocolate Siamese. I adopted her a year ago and can't imagine life without her! She pretty much hasn't left my side since we found out. (I woke up this morning with her on my pillow and a mouthful of fur.)
Edited: I have absolutely no idea how she'll react to the baby!
Meet Kyle...he is some sort of Shepard mix rescue pup who just turned 2 and is about 80 lbs. He is tolerant of DD, but will come running if he senses a dirty diaper!
This is our 3 yo black lab Ruger. He brings his moose to bed every night. He is an 85 lb lap dog that has to snuggle me every night. He is great with kids but a total Momma's boy and I'm worried he is going to struggle getting less attention. We are getting our second fur-baby next week: a 6 week old yellow lab (naming him Axel) I'm hoping that having a new little brother will help Ruger adjust to sharing my attention. Ruger and Axel will obviously be first-time big brothers and I can't wait to see them fall in love with our little human in March!
This is my first furbaby Luna, she's really great with my almost 2 yo. We also have 2 other cats (can't find pics), Cricket and Ivy. Bottom is our dog Scout, who is also good with DS. We also have a foster dog who is even better with DS, but she'll need a new foster home before this baby is born if she hasn't been adopted yet.
Here is Bo! He is our 22 month old Doberman Pinscher. In the second pic, he is with my 16 month old niece, Georgee Bo is friendly with kids, but hasn't really been around babies. He is a big baby himself so I'm anxious to see how he reacts to Baby Rick getting most of the attention.
My silly fur baby, Dexter!! He's almost 5 years old and the best doggie I could have ever asked for. I'm so excited for him to be a big brother when the baby arrives!!!
We have two dogs, our 8 1/2 year old black lab has been through the 'big brother' thing with DS, the other is a 15 week old yellow lab (what was I thinking?!) I didn't know I was pregnant when we got her, otherwise we probably wouldn't have. She's an awesome puppy, but I just don't have it in me to deal with puppy shennanigans right now. We also have chickens and a rabbit.
