14 weeks!

Nothing to prepare.

Rant: my pants fit tight and dig into my belly (baby plus overeating for a few days)
Symptoms: mildly sore boobs, otherwise nothing

Next appointment Aug 3 I think, had to reschedule

Olympics. Maybe a little. I'm not a big tv watcher!

16 weeks today, baby is an avocado and I officially have a tiny bump!

Have you done anything this week to prepare for baby?
Getting ready for our gender reveal party on Saturday after we find out the sex! Cannot wait!!!

Rants / raves / questions / symptoms:
I've been getting gas build up more lately which is painful! I drove to and from Maine yesterday for work which was a 6 hour drive and when I got home I just wanted to get that gas out!! (TMI I know)

When's your next appointment?
Saturday we're going to an outside ultrasound place to find out the sex but the official ultrasound with the doctor is on August 12th

Is it bad that I'm not even sure when they start??

What's new with baby? How far along are you?
17 weeks - baby is the size of a pomegranate or onion.

Have you done anything this week to prepare for baby?
I signed my husband and I up for several labor & delivery, newborn care, breastfeeding, etc. classes. Holy expensive. I want to sign up for the natural childbirth class too but have to wait until next pay day for that one.

Rants / raves / questions / symptoms:
Some days, I have extreme tailbone bone pain. I can't even sit in a chair like a normal person. I bought a new computer chair for work, but unfortunately, it hasn't helped. At my last appointment a few weeks ago, the doctor said it was "too early" for it to be pregnancy related, but I have never had problems like this before. It has to be pregnancy related, right?

Also, "too early" symptom #2 - I think my feet are already growing/swelling? Most of my shoes are uncomfortable already. I can't even imagine how I will feel 2-3 months from now. Sigh. Guess I have to buy all new shoes?!

When's your next appointment?
Nothing until August 18 - our anatomy scan. HOW am I ever going to wait that long?!!!

GTKY: Are you planning to watch the Olympics? Do you have a favorite event?
Oh yes! I am actually abnormally excited about the Olympics, and I have no idea why because normally I am very "meh" about it. Favorite event is definitely gymnastics, although I like to watch swimming too.

We have been gathering all the hand me downs. I SWEAR that I felt the baby move last night. I had some ice cream and then went to bed - it felt like little flutters and weird popping. Maybe I am just wanting to feel baby that my gas is fooling me...

I agree with @JulieBird6 I am abnormally excited about the Olympics! I will watch whatever is on in the evening but Gymnastics and Diving are two of my favorites.

@juliebird6 is it hot where you are? I feel like I've been a little swollen lately when it's 95 and humid but when it's a little cooler I'm back to normal. Hoping that's the issue before you have to buy all new shoes

and another note, I'm with you on not waiting, that's why we're going to a specialty ultrasound, I'm DYING to know!

What's new with baby? How far along are you?
15 Weeks today. Baby is the size of an orange according to app. I listened to the heart beat with my doppler yesterday and it was the first time I was absolutely sure it was baby's and not mine. I was actually able to move from my heart beat to the baby's and hear the difference, which was really cool! Of course, all the grandparents and close friends got a recording texted to them

Have you done anything this week to prepare for baby?
I've been slightly obsessive about adding more to my babyli.st registry. It's becoming addicting lol

Rants / raves / questions / symptoms:
Symptoms: General aches in hips and groin. MIGRAINE most of this week.

Rant/question: Anyone else slightly overwhelmed by the amount of baby gear these days? I was looking for old-school playtex drop-in bottles and pacifiers with brown rubber nipples, plain little blankets for swaddling, and good old fashioned bassinet and baby carrier. Boy, was my mind blown when I started trying to add that to my registry and not to mention the plethora of literature on the cons/dangers of any old school products! I kind of feel like if I went along with all the warnings my pregnant self and eventually my baby would have to live in a bubble to avoid it all. Exhausting.

I actually had not given it thought! Lol. If I watch, it will probably be the artistic, rhythmic gymnastics kinda stuff.

@susykat77 Man! I seriously thought I felt the baby yesterday too! It was down low in my pelvis when I rolled over and it was a really awkward, fluttering feeling too! It inspired me to try the doppler later that day. Baby was in a similar spot where I felt it but on the other side though. PS That crib was on my Pinterest board, but we ended up kind of stumbling into a good deal with a different one. It's so cute!

@BriannaE129129 Yes, I live in Michigan and it has been extremely hot and humid here. I also sit for prolonged periods of time at work, so that could also be it. I've been trying to get up and walk around but there's only so many times I can do a lap before I look like a weirdo. Hoping the swelling goes down soon, but August probably won't be much better here.

I also have been thinking about an elective ultrasound, but I think hubby would think I was being crazy, lol. Every time I try to tell him we need to clean out the nursery room or start thinking about registry items, he thinks we have "tons of time" but we only have like 20 weeks buddy. It's time to get a move on!

@susykat77 We just moved and were furniture shopping a few weeks ago when the kind old gentleman who owned the furniture shop we bought our living room set in threw in a brand new white Graco crib with Serta mattress for $100! Nothing too fancy, but was too good of a deal to pass on.

Nope. Still just brainstorming names. Everything I like the Hubby doesn't and vise versa. But since we don't know gender yet I'm not to worried!

Boobs seem to be less sore! YAY! In exchange I've had plenty of headaches,constipation and a few restless nights. Boo!
When's your next appointment?
Tomorrow to meet new OB we will use. Not sure exactly what they will do.

GTKY: Are you planning to watch the Olympics? Do you have a favorite event? Not really. If I happen to flip and they are on it might watch for a bit depending on what event is happening. Gymnastics would be my favorite of I had to choose.

I think my husband has just learned to not be surprised by anything I do/say at this point lol! I still don't feel pregnant at all so we're both hoping that finding out the gender makes it feel like it's really happening. Crazy!
