Re: Fitness and Healthy Eating Checkin 7/25/16

  • 1.  Distance running and power yoga

    2.  Walking and prenatal yoga

    3.  Really good, except, yet again, didn't do any yoga at home. Just the class. Anybody have a good prenatal YouTube video they like?

I also ended up snorkeling, which was a great, relaxing, low-impact activity. I dive most weekends when not pregnant, and it was so great to connect with the underwater world again.

    4.  Modified since I'll be away all weekend-1 yoga class, daily walking when I'm home, chillax on the carbs and keep up with adding protein. I've been doing pretty well so far for a pescatarian, I think!

    5.  I want salmon sushi so much. It's healthy, it has never made me sick, and would be a great way to get protein. H is really not controlling at all, but he's fighting me hard on this, even though I explained that it can't carry toxoplasmosis or listeria. So, so annoyed. Cooked salmon just doesn't hold any appeal.

    6. We have a great arts scene and lots of fun free things to do year-round. Also an amazing food city for its small size. I'm very spoiled by the restaurant quality in all price brackets.

  • Is anyone still running? I changed from running to walking shortly after my bfp (7 weeks ago) and ran around the yard with my dogs today. I felt totally uncoordinated and very foreign, which made me want to force a real normal run. I only switched to walking because I was exhausted, but am gaining energy back now. Any thoughts?

I haven't been, but I'm ready to start again once it cools off! In the 80s I could do it, but the 90s? No way! My MW says its fine to resume after a 1st tri break as long as I ease back into it.

I ran a half marathon just before BFP. And ran a 10K while pregnant (although I didn't know it). I was doing pretty good keeping up with running then exhaustion, MS, and heat kicked in. Feeling very out of shape at the moment.

Just hit 11 weeks. Planning on going to the gym in the next week and seeing if I can get at least a mile or 2 in. I absolutely hate running on the treadmill.

I signed up for a 5K at the end of August. While that's plenty of time away to get back in shape, I just feel bad I let all that work go to waste.

  • I have failed at all aspects of working out the past week and a half. Well not 100%, I did go for a walk/run and prenatal yoga on saturday. I need to get my butt in gear this week. I've had my gym bag packed in my car all week in hopes I felt well enough when I left work.

I had my first OB appt on monday and they gave me the go a head to start back up with my normal routine. Fertility docs were a little over protective.
  • 1.  CrossFit & Golf.  Mostly Paleo/Primal diet.

    2.  Trying to keep up with regular class attendance and golfing once a week.  Eating as much home cooked food as possible.

    3.  We were out of town last weekend for a family reunion.  The cottage we stayed at had no A/C and the temps were above 90 for all three days.  Join that with family reunion type foods and not getting back in time to grocery shop on Sunday...  It wiped me out and I've just been trying to get back on track.

    4.  Go to CrossFit (2-3 times), take the dogs out for walks early over the weekend and only eat out 2 times.

    5.  Stay calm for my upcoming doctor's appointment and make sure to stretch more (back has been bothering me).

    6.  Pittsburgh is just an easy city to live in...  The people are mostly nice/polite, the restaurant scene has exploded over the last few years and there is always something going on culturally.  Also, when I can enjoy such things, there are some great local breweries sprinkled throughout the city and suburbs.
