Re: July IUI

  • Woah ladies, I had some major catching up to do!

@fivetimesnoluck and @isthisthereallife Like you ladies said, all it takes it one! I still find it crazy how out of the millions of sperm, only one gets to make it to the finish!

@sasha29 I'm so sorry about AF. Hang in there.

@jkd2388 Yay! So exciting! Let us know what your BETA is tomorrow!

@kristynelson13 I'm so sorry for the BFN. Hang in there, there is still hope. Fx for you!

As for me. I think I'm going to try to not test out the trigger and just POAS Friday the 5th. That's 12 dpo so the trigger should be out and it should be able to pick up any HcG from an actual pregnancy. Until then I'm going to pretend it worked and focus on the future.

@fivetimesnoluck @toby102008 thank you..Im trying to remain hopeful, but its difficult. this is my first IUI & I've never had a pregnancy... so my plan is 2 more IUI's after this one and then one round of IVF. Hopefully it wont come to that.

@Isthisthereallife. Yeah Im not taking it orally... I have to take it twice a day..but I would take it at night for sure.

  • @Isthisthereallife my RE has me take progesterone at night bc of the dizziness.  I take the suppositories now but have taken it orally before and they suggested the same thing.

  • @Isthisthereallife I take it before bed so I usually don't have that problem. Maybe switch to taking it at night?
  • Isthisthereallife Yeah I think its normal to feel like wow this big thing is happening with IUI's...especially the first one! I even took a picture of the sunrise on the first IUI cause it just felt so right!

Eh no worries about not getting to see the sperm. Just never know facility to facility...what they do. :)

Do you know if the progesterone you take during your TWW is the same as the progesterone I take to cause my period to happen?

Toby102008 Did your dr recommend IVF after 4 IUI's or is that a personal choice? It does seem like the likely hood of things working decrease after 3 IUI's.

I always wish they would write down the count, and other data numbers so we could reference back. I feel like if I don't catch them or ask questions they don't really keep me in the loop about all the details about counts, and sizes etc.

fivetimesnoluck and mandasand that you are keeping the humor with it all. I know the stuff that cracks me up the most is the process of my husband trying to give me injections - being that he is super afraid of needles.

kristynelson13 I am with ya. BFN on a cheapie DPO 13. Now I am just waiting for AF to come or for the world to spin and maybe get lucky with a delayed BFP after DPO 14.

    SJG Happy for you! :)

jkd2388  that is exciting! Fingers crossed for you!

    Sasha29 that sucks! Damn AF!

How is everyone's week going? Are you all surviving the summer heat? Any summer vacations planned?

  • I guess I better switch to night time. It was intense and lasted about an hour. Opps.

@BecauseLove, I'm not sure if it's the same one that you take. I was told that it helps to build the uterine lining. He's got me taking 200mg of it. He said mine was low the last time they tested it. That's so sweet that you took a picture! I'm just so darn hopeful. How have you been feeling? It's a good sign that no AF yet!!

  • Isthisthereallife Yeah no clue if its the same type of progesterone. Curious...I may use dr. google to figure it out. :) Well I am hopeful for you too! :)

I feel fine. Honestly because I never (or rarely) got AF in my previous life I don't have all that many signs in my mind about it coming. The only thing that sometimes happens is 2 days or so before I start to feel really ill like I am coming down with the flu and then it goes away and AF comes. I have really had super little side effects this cycle...including as the Follie was growing which is odd...usually I have more symptoms. But this one...nothing much. So hopefully that will be a good sign..or if not at least I didn't have to feel bad. :)

How is everyone's week going? Week is going well...and fast. Hoping to go pontooning tonight. I got the most amazing massage last week..slept through a chunk of it it was so good. This weekend I have some friends coming into town so looking forward to hanging out.

Are you all surviving the summer heat?
It was so hott this last week...I thought I was going to melt. I live in an area that doesn't really have AC...and the only reprieve are cold basements or getting in a lake. :)

    Any summer vacations planned?
We are looking at doing a road trip (even if only a day trip) for something fun other than Baby Making appointments. My DH doesn't really believe I can be out of cell phone range with my work (which is kinda true) so he has been frustrated that we haven't gone more off grid. So my hope is the trip we take can get us away more from my work world...but not so far away that I can't problem solve issues if they come up.

  • @becauselove She just said we could do 4 before meeting back up to reevaluate and come up with another plan. But we won't do injectables because it's so expensive for the 20-25% chance of conceiving. We've decided we will just move to IVF, where our odd are much higher.  The best bang for our buck! We might just move on after 3 if they don't work. We're moving back to Michigan in April and that'll put the REs office 4 hours away, so I really need this to be all over before we move away. Just more stress and stuff to worry about!

@kristynelson13 This is our first also. We will do 2 or 3 more then move to IVF as well. Hopefully the iuis will work for us both!

How is everyones week going? So far so good. I've been extremely tired so I've just been relaxing after work. It's been too hot to go outside and do anything.

Are you all surviving the summer heat? Just barely. I'm so thankful for AC. It's been so miserable here in the 90s that we can't even go fishing or enjoy the sunshine. Hopefully it'll cool off soon

     Any summer vacations planned?
No, no big vacations. We're going back up to Michigan for a weekend for my little brothers graduation party and taking my father in laws pontoon out fishing. But other than that, nothing planned.

  • How is everyones week going? Just had my blood drawn this morning for my beta so will be anxiously awaiting the phone call all day!

Are you all surviving the summer heat?
I'm trying to stay inside as much as possible. At work we have air so it's all good, and I'm there pretty much all day. At home I don't have central air but I have an air conditioner and fans so we are doing alright with that.

     Any summer vacations planned?
No, nothing too exciting. In September we are going to San Antonio to visit my brother and sister in law and then to New Mexico for a wedding so that should be fun!

@jkd2388  Im  sending all the baby vibes your way! I really think you are going to get good news today! fx for you!!!

How is everyones week going? Been testing like a crazy person, beta on Friday. I've come to terms with the fact that I most likely will be doing another cycle of IUI... And Im okay with that. One of these times have got to take! :)

Are you all surviving the summer heat?
It is crazy humid were I live  (DC metro) & we have AC indoors so I stay inside as much as possible, I dont mind heat, but its the humidity thats the worst!

     Any summer vacations planned?
Nothing terribly exciting.. weve been living on the east coast for almost 2 years now, so hopefully we can check out Ocean City or the beach somewhere before the summers over. In October, we are going to Disney, with my sweet 3 yr old niece, so excited for that! Probably looking to plan a trip home back to WI in the next few months to visit too.

  • Good luck @jkd2388! Thinking of you!!

How is everyones week going? It's so darn slow. I don't know how I'm going to make it to next Friday. I decided not to test out the trigger. I don't want to see a false positive. I'm just trying to convenience myself it didn't work so that it's not such a let down. I know the numbers aren't on our side.

Are you all surviving the summer heat?
It's so gross! We have AC at home and at work so that's not bad. I do feel bad for hubby though, he works in a machine shop and they don't have AC...so it's been rough for him.

     Any summer vacations planned?
We may go down to Alabama (where hubby is from) over Labor Day weekend. It all depends on what happens with this baby making business. We drive and that's 11 hours in the car - so we'll see!

  • Hi ladies!  I'm sad to report aunt flo has officially arrived for me.  In a way, I'm relieved that she is here and I don't have to deal with TWW agony anymore, on to the next cycle!  I am waiting to hear back from my nurse, planning on moving on to our 5th IUI (my situation with insurance is that once we do 6, IVF can be covered, which is awesome, but also annoying because clomid kind of sucks).  Gotta jump through hoops.

Good luck @jkd2388 - I hope you get good news today!!

Good luck to all in the two week wait.  :)

  • @jkd2388 Good luck!! Happy vibes sent your way!!

How is everyone's week going? I am so busy at work this week! But I don't mind because it keeps me from dealing with the TWW anxiety!

Are you all surviving the summer heat?
Barely! My poor DH works out in the heat while I've been enjoying the AC all day.

    Any summer vacations planned?
I wish.  I'm too nervous about going anywhere south because of Zika.  We talked about maybe taking a trip this fall but we will see how things pan out.

@lady_grey sorry about AF coming. But sounds like you have a great attitude about it. Wishing you luck for next cycle!!
  • @jkd2388  Praying ur numbers doubled and ur in ur way, good luck!!

@lady_grey sucks but awesome ur covered for ivf I wish that was the case.  I pay so much for insurance it's a joke they don't cover ivf only IUI.  Hoping the magic will happen this cycle for us.

Luckily everything came back ready to go for another cycle, Just started my Clomid last night hoping I can actually get my IUI done on the right day.   I just need everything to align! Work will be insane this month so even though I kno I probably would have to move on to ivf, doing an IUI will really be the best option this month.  Will try to get to acupuncture this week too, even though I'm not really a fan of it.

@Toby102008 whoah that is some great numbers!!  My OH thought he was a champ with 27 mil ;) hoping the magical made for u ladies.  @isthisthereallife said it only take one, so where is that Olympic swimmer.

Hoping I'll have more then one mature folli this cycle for a better chance!!

@sasha29 seems like we have similar cycles did u go for u/s and blood work yet?

thinking of u all and sprinkling extra baby dust ur way.  Hoping the tww goes by quickly.  Realize how we're all rushing the summer away

How is everyone's week going? So far, so good! Have had a couple busy days at work, which is a good distraction. Taking today off because DH and I went to a concert last night two hours away. Drove back late! Had a blast and totally enjoying being lazy with both of us off today.
Are you all surviving the summer heat?
We live on the coast of Georgia. It is terribly hot and always humid, but I'm used to it and everywhere I go is air conditioned. Not spending a lot of time outside right now.... But that's pretty typical for my summer. I haven't even gone to the beach once!
    Any summer vacations planned?
We took our big vacation over July 4. Went to New England and met up with some of our best friends who live outside of Boston. No other big trips confirmed, but may do some day trips or a weekend in DC in September, not sure yet.

I'm sorry to hear AF showed up, @lady_grey! Onward indeed!

@lady_grey I'm so sorry for AF. It's sucks having to keep doing IUIs when they aren't working, but awesome your insurance will cover IVF. Hang in there.

@isthisthereallife I've decided against testing out the trigger too. Just going to live the next week and a half pretending that it worked. We finally agreed on a boys name that we both love. I know I probably shouldn't get my hopes up, but I need a couple weeks being happy instead of sad all the time.

@hopeful_mom DH was pretty pleased with his numbers. Hopefully one of them made its way to the finish!

  • Thanks @Toby102008!!!!! Wishing you all good luck and baby dust!!!! I'll let you know how Friday goes
  • @Toby102008 that's a great way of thinking of it!

I'm actually trying to do the opposite (trying being the operative word). I don't feel great about the numbers so I'm convincing myself it didn't work so if it doesn't, I'll be prepared. Or so I say. Can you really prepare?

  • @Hopeful_mom You're right. Thank you. I'm just so afraid that it wont happen, and it's all I want in the world.

I also realized that I have a baby shower scheduled for the day after my beta. So pending the results, I may not go to that.

  • Well I am living the slowest TWW hell...BFN's but no AF. I just sent an email to my Dr asking if she would be willing to schedule me for a beta (we haven't done one before) so we could know one way or the other...so she could decide if she wants to prescribe me Estrogen and Progesterone again to get my period instead of waiting for like 2 weeks to see if maybe the period comes at some point...one of the reasons my last cycle was like 81 days long....waiting waiting and waiting.

kristynelson13 FX that you will get some good news on your Beta...never know when luck might come.  Your late summer trip to Alabama sounds fun...that is a lot of hours in a car though.

jkd2388 Such awesome news!! :) Hope your doing happy baby dances! :) Did you surprise your SO with the news?

Your fall travel sounds awesome!! Lots of warm weather fun!

Isthisthereallife and Toby102008 and fivetimesnoluck I hope your doing good with the TWW...distraction is always my key to keeping sane during the TWW. :)

Toby102008 Yeah my dr decided against doing inflatables because I do get mature follies (at least some of the time) on Femera.

MI would be a fun visit. Ponooting is the way to go. I lived in Birmingham area of MI for a summer and went to college in the UP. Lots to love about the 2 hand state. :)

fivetimesnoluck did you eat so many yummy things on your summer trip? It sounded wonderful! Fun that you can do short trips to so many places...the east coast rocks for that. What concert did you see the other day?

Hopeful_mom I hope the clomid is working its magic and this next IUI turns out to be a lucky one. Do you know how much IVF is in your area? It seems like the cost of IVF really varies!

lady_grey I am so sorry! The light at the end of the tunnel is that you have IVF coverage after IUI's...and who knows maybe this next IUI is the one!  I am sorry for how frustrating it all is though! Makes me want to go kick rocks!

kaityh1 Yeah the Zika is a bummer for fun travel. My husband also works in the heat...though we don't have AC in my office...at least it is better than having to do labor work in crazy heat. Takes a lot of out of a person I think.
