Re: TTTC Checkin 7/26/2016

  • Hi everyone.  Big hugs to anyone who needs one.

    I am at CD11.  Not much going on for us, just trying to get our BD in.  I am still waiting on the rest of my lab results, the FSH and my ovarian reserves.  I should be getting those any day now. If we have no luck this cycle, then we start Clomid next cycle.

    I am definitely feeling less moody than I did last week which is nice.  DH and I went to the Brewer game on Saturday with friends for his birthday and my boss took on-call for me all weekend which was a nice little break for me and a chance to unwind and relax.

    QOTW: My absolute favorite condiment is a particular BBQ sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings called Spicy Garlic.  I could drink that stuff right out of the bottle.

    Our Fur babies are good.  We have a black lab and a cat.  My cat has been very vocal lately since I won't take him outside because of the heat we have been having.  He just doesn't believe me when I tell him that he would rather stay in the air conditioning.

  • @GoldenKeys you can take me off of your list. I ran out of money in my HSA so I've stopped acupuncture and chinese herbs. Our RE appointment was a few weeks ago - my official dx is Premature Ovarian Aging or DOR. They recommended IVF, which we can't afford right now. We are going to save up for a few years and keep trying naturally in the meantime. Hopefully it won't be too late by the time we can afford IVF.

    I am going to stop participating here (as I'm sure you all have noticed I already have) because the weekly reminder of TTC is too hard. I've got to keep living my life - IF is a part of it, but can't be such a major part. Good luck to all of you, I really hope to see more names in the BFP hall of fame soon!

    QOTW: I don't use condiments much, so I guess ketchup?

    My fur babies are the bestest. 2 cats and 2 cavalier king charles spaniels and all just a bundle of snuggly joy.

    Congrats Ducks&Cats!

    AL_TwinCities are you from MN Twin Cities? I am so sorry about the turn of events! I hope that you find a good IVF clinic to work with in the future and in the meantime get to enjoy life with out thinking about TTC some. Maybe you will have some surprise luck and get KU'd out of nowhere. Life is a fing adventure...so who knows what might happen. Best of luck to you!

    hoffmanr7 Hopefully you will get lucky this cycle or next cycle with Clomid. :)

    Just found out that my pet is going to need tooth surgery. So that is interesting...and totally out of the blue. Favorite Condiment...likely mustard...sweet and spicy.

  • @BecauseLove I'm sorry for your BFN :( I am in the Twin Cities in Minnesota - I work in Minneapolis and live in St Paul. We are happy with our clinic, and they have the best success rates in the state, so when we can afford to do IVF, I know we'll be in good hands. And you're right - a miracle BFP is still possible. We have managed to get KU twice in the 2+ years we've been TTC, though we lost both to miscarriage. Trying to think positive for the future.

    Best of luck to you!

    IVF is in full swing over here!  Day 9 of stims for me today and I'm getting really crampy/bloated/uncomfortable.  At my ultrasound yesterday my RE told me he thinks we'll get more than 20 eggs at my retrieval, which he thinks will be on Friday.  I go back in tomorrow morning to see if I'm ready to trigger.

    @AL_TwinCities I'm so sorry that you need to take a break like this.  Here's hoping you get a BFP while you wait!

    @Ducks&Cats Congrats!

    My little pups are doing well!  One of them is cuddling with me in the lazy boy right now.  All I want to do when I feel like this is be in this lazy boy with this little girl!

    Ducks&Cats YAY!!!! I'm so excited that your treatment finally worked!

    wifeinraleigh28 Good luck at your retrieval!

    AF arrived last week so now I'm on CD6 now... last cycle before we start IUIs. I can't believe we're starting our 16th cycle of TTGP :/
    I had a pretty bad meltdown last night, I must have held it in after AF arrived instead of crying it out then. I guess our IF diagnosis is starting to sink in, and I was reflecting on how crazy unfair it is that so many women never go through this or even understand the pain this causes. I just feel like everyone around me is going on with there life, and I'm stuck here.

    Anyway, I'll be ok, just had to let go of some pent up disappointment

    Condiment? probably Mayo, specifically Hellman's mayo with olive oil.. the best!

    Our pup is doing well and everyday I come home from work (I'm a vet) I'm thankful for his good health. I hope he lives forever :)

  • It's CD 18 and I may have had a positive OPK yesterday, but there were some unsual circumstances. Today's is definitely negative, though. And I'm just not sure. All the signs are different than usual and I'm just like... tired of my hopes being up. Tired of everything. TIRED. *naps*

    @Ducks&Cats - I am so excited for you! Big congrats and prayers that mama and baby are both very healthy for a long time to come!

    @hoffmanr7 - I hope your test come back with the news you are hoping for. I know the wait is the worst part!

    I'm CD8 and on my 4th day of Clomid in my second Clomid cycle. The covert camping BD was not enough last cycle. So we are doubling our efforts this month and hoping for the best. We also made our first deposit yesterday in an account we set up for RE/IUI/IVF. It made us feel a little more in control and that is nice.

  • CD1 over here :neutral: knew it was coming, but that BFN yesterday was rough.  Hubby is out of town and I'm really struggling with my emotions this time.  Scheduled for an ultrasound tomorrow morning to make sure I don't have any cysts that are too large to start Letrazole so any prayers about that would be so appreciated!!!!!  Also getting hubby's semen analysis results tomorrow, which I'm nervous about (no reason to think there's a problem there since I have PCOS but it's just one more thing!)

    My favorite condiment these days is avocado lime ranch dressing from Chik-fil-A :blush: and my pup, Atticus is good, she's good for snuggles when I'm sad!!!!!!!!!!!

    @Ducks&Cats congrats!

    I'm a sad panda and on CD 1 I think.  I started bleeding today but from everything I've read it's not necessarily my period. I've made peace with the fact that we had a chemical pregnancy and that cycle failed but I'm just so sad because I have no clue what's next.  I'm very thankful I have 11 frozen embryos to fall back on but sad my first one didn't stick.  I go Friday for a blood draw to make sure my HCG is back to zero and then we hopefully know our next steps.   Thanks again for all the words of encouragement, it's been a rough week.

    QOTW- I'm a ketchup girl.

  • @Ducks&Cats Yay! Congratulations. So excited for you.

    I just got done with AF and am on CD 5. My first appointment is August 9th. Since it is with my PCP and will be in the middle of my cycle I have no idea what to expect. Although I'm going to keep trying naturally for this cycle it definitely feels like a lost cause and I wish I could have had my appt. sooner.

  • Hi everyone!  Just started BCP for my frozen cycle.  I am trying to hard not to be too optimistic, but this is our first real chance of getting pregnant in 5 years.  It is kind of exciting, but at the same time I feel like I am just setting myself up for disappointment.  Other people have babies, but not me.  You know what I mean?

    Also, where are my crocheters?  I seem to remember several.  I am working on my first c2c afghan, which is a Doctor Who theme.

    @AL_TwinCities *hugs*

    @Ducks&Cats congrats!

    @wifeinraleigh28 - wow that is a huge number of eggs!  Hopefully you end up with a lot of good embryos.

    @Mythril - been there, big time.  *hugs*

    @Mrs.RedHead - yay for savings!  I wish I had set some aside for all of this, the loans I have taken out are brutal.

    @BWhitta - fx for your test results!

    @Worldtraveler0522 Sorry to hear.  :(

    QOTW Part 1 - Ranch.  I am a huge ranch fan.

    QOTW Part 2 - I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog who thought he was a fire truck the other day  (A fire truck went by with the siren on, and he howled to imitate it.  First time he has ever howled) and a cat that is always hungry lol.  Unfortunately, we had to put to sleep our 15 year old mini dachshund a few weeks ago, and I miss her a whole lot.

  • @ReesaAnne16 I'm sorry you are having such a rough time.  I've been there so many times.  It really isn't fair that so many people have it so easy and we have to go through all of this.  I had a bit of a meltdown after we paid for IVF because I just kept thinking about how we have to pay $16k when most people can get pregnant for free.  Sending you hugs!

    I went back to the RE today and I am officially ready to trigger tonight, with egg retrieval scheduled for 8:45 am on Friday!  The nurse stopped counting after 17 mature follicles.  I'm so uncomfortable so I'm feeling quite ready to get these little buggers out!

  • Hi! First check in here. We've been ntnp for a little under a year, but have been trying intentionally for about 6 months. I am 25 and dh is 31.
    I have pcos. I don't have cycles on my own. I am currently on my provera induced period. I take metformin 1000 twice daily. I'm on prenatal and coq10 as well. I go in for cd21 labs to check for ovulation (on cd 20 since 21 is a sunday) this month. She's also going to check ovarian function and reserve at that time. Right now I'm just seeing an obgyn. If labs come back that I'm not ovulating (which is what opks and no periods tell me) then she will start me on clomid.

    Qotw 1: Cane's sauce (canes is a chicken place we have in louisiana.)

    Qotw 2: dh and I just moved to campus for seminary grad school and we aren't allowed pets. So I cry everyday missing our two dogs-skunky a yorkie and stella a toy Manchester terrier. Skunk is in Kansas with dh's mom. And stella is in Kansas with dh's sister. 13 hours from me. Really, it sucks.
    I told dh last week that it hurts so bad because stella was my child. And now, not only am I unable to get pregnant I also do have my stella girl. It hurts so badly.

  • And now feeling down again.  By my figuring, I am owed a refund of $2050 from the hospital because I did not have embryos last cycle, so there was nothing to biopsy and nothing to send off for testing.  When I asked about it, I was told not only am I owed a refund, I owe them $350 for the frozen transfer I am doing in September.  So I called and asked, and according to them, the free embryo transfer I was supposed to have was only good for the next cycle, which is when I did the second retrieval. So I did get that money back, but it is all going for the frozen cycle.

    THEN I was told that I owed $300 out of that $2050, so the rest was a credit on my account.  Why the heck is it a credit?  Even if I do pay that $300 (which I don't agree with, because I was told that since I was canceling due to doctor recommendation, the frozen transfer would be no cost.  Nothing about it had to be the next cycle), I want the rest of that money back.  I need it to pay to go up there, and this whole "you have a credit of this, and you owe that" is so confusing.

    Got the rest of our test results today. All of our labs checked out. As previously mentioned, DH semen was great, my thyroid level was good. The rest of my blood work was normal and egg quality and quantity all checked out in the good/normal range. I'm having some mixed emotions about it all. I'm obviously glad that everything checks out so far but it still leaves me wondering why the heck we haven't been able to get pregnant yet. *sigh*

  • Hi girls, it was so nice catching up and seeing those BFPs. I needed a break- due to an emotional break over this IF emptiness. I started with my new RE who has done tons of labs. @ReesaAnne16 I think it was you asking what he would do to search  for inflammation- he's tested my histamine level, thyroid, cortisol and many others - I am happy to send you a list if you're interested (I see you're a vet so obviously familiar with reading labs!). The 23&Me test comes with a way to extract the raw data and I have an appointment to go over this with someone in his office tomorrow.

    I love ice all things condiments - I agree with sour cream and any aioli.

    I would be be lost without my 11 yr old lab Gus and my 9 yr old pitbull Felon (ughhhhh we adopted him at age 5 from my husband's ex-fiancé & always have to explain that I didn't name him

  • @lablover78  I didn't know testing for histamine level was a thing! I would definitely be interested in what all your doctor tested for; I have a positive ANA titer that my rheumatologist swears is not contributing to our IF but it makes me wonder if I have other inflammatory factors.

    Congrats @Ducks&Cats!
    Hugs to anyone who needs one :/

    Took a break (from posting!) while on vacation. Had a major meltdown when AF showed up early. Another short luteal phase that my RE doesn't seem concerned with (8-10 days without meds, 11 days with trigger shot).

    Feeling frustrated that I apparently have to diagnose myself. Asked about going on progesterone (which my OB prescribed initially, but had me taking too early - before ovulation/temp rise - long story) since LP seems on the short end and we're already shelling out all the $$ for IUIs. RE said sure. Sure, seriously? Come on, medical professionals!

    12 day US later today. This will hopefully be our 3rd IUI cycle (4th medicated) and if it doesn't work we're taking a break from doc intervention while we save up, see if we can regulate naturally, and look for a new RE.

    Feeling frustrated and wondering about next steps. Ugh. FX for this cycle, I guess....

    ETA: answer to the question!
    Not a huge condiment person, but I do love my balsamic vinegar.
    Fur babies are great! Two cats + my sisters cat which has been here for the summer. My husband says we've reached "catical mass" where one more wont be noticed. It's my new favorite phrase :smile:
  • @mrswifeytoad - I remember Cane's sauce!  I lived in LA for several years about 15 years ago and used to love getting their chicken.

    I've been absent due to busy-ness and a much needed vacation...right smack dab in the middle of FW.  This is our second cycle on Clomid.  While I was considering talking to H during vacation about further options (IUI/IVF) because he has yet to voice a real opinion about either, I decided to be focused solely on BD and relaxation and being extremely optimistic, and didn't want to get into any deep emotional discussion during my FW.  We've had some emotional times in the last cycle and I had a failed attempt to talk about our options just prior to vacation, so I decided it was best to just table it for this cycle and just stay optimistic.  BD came easy this time, no pressure, no nothing...H took control of it and it was nice to let it come natural.  Now if we could just schedule a vacation every FW, that would be nice.

    My favorite condiment would be balsamic glaze - I put that on anything and everything, especially chicken, fish, veggies, and anything that I may have ruined during cooking experiments.

    I have a 10 month old schnauzer terrier mix named Cami who just had her first time being boarded...she did very well and made lots of friends.  She is still exhausted from all of the activity while she was at the boarders so it's been nice to not deal with her usual puppy craziness.  Our 14 year old cat, Ally, is doing well and probably gorged herself on food while we were gone (H's mom came over and fed her each day).  She's back to staying low key/avoiding the puppy.

    Congrats to @Ducks&Cats !!!!

  • @ReesaAnne16 - thanks so much!  Your dog is a cutie!  Mine is also in my avatar.  I'm in PA, but she was actually a rescue from Mississippi after flooding last year.  She had a sister the same color of yours.

    Unexplained Infertility - Trying naturally
  • CD15. So far my opk is just showing a test line half as dark as the control so I'm getting rather annoyed. We also had a death in FI family so I have been stressing out and running ragged and not a whole lot of baby making activities have been going on.

    Qotw: honey mustard

    my cats are doing good. We have 3. My girls Raven and Ryleah and my baby boy Dean Winchester. Dean has radial hypoplasia and is not very happy with us right now because he can't go out on the balcony anymore when I go out there with my coffee. If you don't know if his condition it looks like his one leg is broken, we got tired of getting calls from the apartment manager about people thinking we are abusing him and I actually had to get a copy of his X-rays to prove we weren't hurting him and he is just naturally like that. But now because he can't go outside he's mean to my girls who can so now I keep every one inside and the fighting doesn't stop.
  • Finished taking femara Friday and they brought me in to do a midcycle ultrasound. Unfortunately, the follicle wasn't big enough, so they want me to come back Friday for,another mid cycle. If the follicle is big enough Then we will trigger and do iui. If it isn't big enough, the RE wants me to immediately starts another cycle of femara and treat it as if it were cycle day two again. We had to cancel the last round because we were on vacay, so if all goes well in follow land, this would be our first iui. My fingers are crossed we are able to try this month.

  • @Ducks&Cats congrats!! Woot!

    Feel like i posted and ghosted, but we went on vacation and had some snags in our home renovation that seems like it will never end :(

    i love reading this board, it reminds me of how amazing and complicated our bodies are and how resilient our minds and spirits can be.

    I had a surprise positive OPK on CD12 (2-3 days earlier than predicted), which meant my work schedule was a bit of a roadblock to good BD this month, but then we went on vacation and being in the woods melted away any of that "did we miss our window" stress.

    Its now CD20/7DPO and I'm (sadly) dreading my good friend's baby shower this weekend. Hoping I can put my TTC pain aside and celebrate/be happy for her. I hate that this is how I feel, but I also need to allow myself to feel upset about it too.

    Yumm sauce!! It's SO good. Mmmmmm.

    we have a huge Russian blue cat named Bear who thinks he's a small person and a tiny tortie shell named Beebs who is all aloof cat. They are loving the hot summer so far :)

  • Thanks @Mrs.RedHead it was actually pretty horrible when I showed up. FIVE of the ten people there were pregnant. Five. I almost faked a stomach bug so I could leave, but I stuck it out and rewarded myself with a cupcake and a beer when I got home :) I do wish my friend would have warned me at least.
