I dont follow a special diet either, Ive been trying to eat healthier, but not having so much luck with that...

@jkd2388.... Ive been having some serious bouts of nausea & fatigue too the last 2 days, UGH. I could deal with it much better if it was a pregnancy.. but the fact that is probably just the progesterone is a mean mean joke

@fivetimesnoluck good luck with your TWW. I didnt feel so much like a crazy person... In the first half I was extremely bloated & crampy & the last few days it has added nausea & fatigue to the menu. So much fun! I literally had to take a nap in the middle of the day yesterday because i couldnt keep my eyes open. Crazy!

@Isthisthereallife I try to stay away from added sugars and stick as close to a paleo diet as I can.. so no grains or dairy either.

@fivetimesnoluck I'm not testing out my trigger either but my doc doesn't schedule me for a beta unless we get a BFP after POAS. They told me to POAS next Friday but there is no way I can wait that long! I'm trying to decide how many DPO I should do it without it being too early.

@kaityh1 It is so hard to wait! I tested out my trigger & now Im regretting it because now i cant stop POAS

I found this article from fertility friend & it says that on average the best day is 13.6 DPO

Thank you, everyone!! I am so anxious and nervous and excited. I know that I need to cool it because once it's done, there are two long weeks full of the cruel progesterone symptoms. But it's so hard!!

I think for diet I'll try and stick as much to whole foods within reason. But the not drinking cold water, or cold foods seems a little bit extreme.

@kristynelson13 Thank you. I'm still debating testing out my trigger. I think I'm going to end up doing it. That way if I do get a BFP I know that it's real.

How do your doctors determine you need the progesterone? Did they know right away you needed it (from initial bloodwork) or do they have to do more bloodwork after the IUI? My RE has never said anything about progesterone. I've only taken it to induce AF.

@Toby102008 when they did my ultrasound on day 12, they also did bloodwork & told me that my progesterone level was a little lower than it should be (which is most likely why my cycle was only 24 days & my luteal phase was never longer than 10 days). i always ovulated around day 15 or 16, so that didnt give me much time.

So they put me on progesterone to lengthen my cycle & luteal phase. Im now on day 26 & 11dpo, so its working!

@Toby102008 For me the progesterone is a known issue from the testing I had done when I started seeing my RE for our recurrent losses. Doc has prescribed it every cycle we have tried in an effort to boost it at the right time.

@kaityh1 and @kristynelson13 I think most people feel comfortable believing the results on a test at 12DPO, but I do know folks who didn't get their positive until later than that. The three cycles we did TI, I tested the morning of my beta (12 DPO) and got a stark white negative each time, so the trigger was definitely gone by that day and the results were confirmed by the beta.

@fivetimesnoluck the trigger is definitely out of my system & I tested today (11dpo) and it was stark white bfn, so Im not feeling too hopeful. Im wondering why my RE scheduled by beta for friday which is 15DPO...

Also, do you not get AF until you stop taking Progesterone?

My prescription is for 8 doses, so I start on CD15 and last dose is on CD22. My cycles are typically 26 or 27 days, and I did still start on time with the TI cycles. I feel like there have been some examples of starting even when taking the progesterone, but I haven't had that happen.

@fivetimesnoluck interesting... My RE told me "take the progesterone until AF comes or we find out your pregnant" If I get a BFP the she wants me taking until Im 8 weeks pregnant. That logic doesnt make sense to me.. She had me start it the day after the IUI, (twice a day) so I've been taking it for 11 days now & I have enough to last me probably another 1-2 weeks.. hmmmmm

My cycles are 24-25 days...Usually AF is like clock work & today would have been the day, she would normally show her ugly face

Maybe Ill have to give her a call today.

Thanks for filling me in about the progesterone ladies. I'm assuming I'm okay if they didn't give it to me. The only time I take it is to induce AF and I take it for 5 days then stop and AF usually comes a day or two after.

My IUI went good. It was pretty painless, just some cramping when she put the catheter in. So I POAS in two weeks and only go in for a beta if it's a BFP. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

The waiting begins..

Hey @Toby102008! Glad yours went well!! Mine was pretty easy too. Painless. I haven't had any cramping yet - so we'll see if that starts. I feel so nervous, 2 weeks is not going to be fun. I go in for a beta on 8/5 regardless. I'm not sure if I'll POAS or hold out, if I'll be able to. What do you think? When you think you'll start POAS?

Morning All! (and now Afternoon)

DPO 12 and seeing BFN's over here...hoping the next to days change things around. The TWW never goes fast but at least this TWW has been busy so a little less crazy making. I know we will be doing IUI (if this doesn't work) though Oct (if my follies are mature enough) because my DR is out until then (she is having a baby). But starting to wonder if we should be signing up for adoption or starting to research IVF on the chance that this IUI or the others don't work.

I don't have a beta scheduled just POAS or waiting for AF.

Thank you @BecauseLove! No, we didn't get to see them. That would have been cool! DH's count was pretty low which is typical. It was his best sample though. I keep reminding myself that we just need 1.

I know this is going to sound weird - especially for people who have been through this so many times. But I feel like something big happened, even though I know so far nothing has really happened. And the world keeps on spinning. It's a weird feeling. My egg and his sperm have never been in the same place before.

@isthisthereallife She told me to wait two weeks from today, which is not going to happen. I'm going to start testing out the trigger in a couple days and then see how long I can hold out after I get my negative. I wouldn't be able to hold out if I was you. I want to start peeing now! This is going to be the longest two weeks of my life!

@becauselove We are going straight to IVF if the 4 iuis don't work. We will probably go in for a consult if the 3rd one fails so we can get ready. I don't think it hurts to start looking into or considering other options. It's nice to have a plan b. And no I didn't get to see the sperm. They had it all washed and in the syringe. I wish I could have seen it!

They also didnt tell me DHs prewash count. Just his post wash which was 54 million. Which is great from what I've read. I hope that makes up for the fact I only had one egg.

@hopefulmom Ugh I know the feeling, same here. AF came on day freakin' 28, like clockwork. I haven't had a 28 day cycle since I was on BCP's like in high school (my cycles are more like 35-45 days naturally), so it feels like I was JUST doing this. Although at least it explains why I magically shot up 5lbs in 3 days lol.

Already had my first US for next cycle, they're upping my Clomid this time, but everything else is the same. Here we go again.

@Isthisthereallife thats not strange at all! I felt the exact same way when I got my IUI. Its hard not to get excited. I felt like something big happened too.

@Toby102008 my plan was to test the trigger out & once I get the negative then stop. But I got the BFN on the first day I tested the trigger annnnnd I never stopped. If there's a next cycle, Im going to try and have some self control

@Toby102008 That's a great post-wash count! Just so you know, ours was 6 million... so even though we previously didn't have problems conceiving, it seems like DH's contribution has been impacted in the last year or so and now we face trouble with conception AND retention. I guess we just have to work extra hard for all of it. Good times...

So I took another first response this morning, and to me the line was darker than yesterday. I emailed the nurse to ask her if it's just the trigger or could actually be positive. She said it could actually be positive. So I came home this afternoon and took a clearblue digital, it says pregnant. I'm trying not to get too excited because I don't know if it's real or not, I'm only 12 days past trigger and 10 days post iui. I have no idea how sensitive these tests are, or how much ovidrel could be left in my system.

Triggered Friday PM, timed intercourse Sunday Morning. Started progesterone today. TI isn't ideal but we had a scheduled trip to our lake house...injections took longer than RE originally planned. Doc is so funny, he said our TI would be "magical" at the lake since that's also where we got married. After the deed, I said to DH, "now that was magical!" We both could not stop laughing! I'm not getting my hopes up, both our numbers are so poor this IUI was really just a test to see how I stimulate in preparation for IVF. I'm on the waiting list with the military so it could be Sept for IVF (they are really not very good at keeping us informed). If the IUI doesn't work I don't plan on doing another IUI, just wait for IVF.

@Isthisthereallife it had that affect on me when I first took it.. i always try to lay down for at least an hour after I take it, seems to help

@kristynelson13 Grrr. Sorry for the BFN. I will hold onto hope for you, but I do understand your doubts. Is this your first IUI or have you had other ones? I am sorry if you've said before...

@Isthisthereallife I don't recall ever feeling dizzy on the suppositories. How do you take yours? Is it an oral med or an insert? Hopefully that won't be a side effect every time! I take mine at bedtime, so if there were any wonky side effects I may just not notice them!

@mandasand HAHA! I love that you can make fun of the situation. The first time we had a medicated TI cycle, the doctor referred to sex as "relations" so we have adapted to calling it that pretty often. We also made up a name for our road trip to have the IUI this weekend - we decided it was Destination Insemination!

I'm taking it orally. They said I could take it at night or morning, so I thought I'd take it in the morning to get the process started sooner....I'm now regretting that.
