Re: Weekend Ticker Change

  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth): 35

    Baby size: Pineapple

Upcoming appointments or milestones: No more big milestones at this point, just waiting for him to arrive!

Rants/raves/symptoms: I have raised, red itchy bumps all along my stretch marks, and other patches of itchy skin all over. The doctor doesn't think it's PUPPs, but just skin irritation due to stretching/water retention. But either way, it's no fun.

Questions: Anyone else having the skin issues?

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan? I have a general idea of what I hope to do, but nothing that I have formally put into writing.

  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth): 36 weeks tomorrow.

    Baby size: Honeydew melon

Upcoming appointments or milestones: I start my weekly appointments on Wednesday. I get the lovely Group B Swab too. Yippie!

Rants/raves/symptoms: Lots of BH these days. I posted in the symptoms thread already about this, but I lost part of my mucous plug this morning which definitely made me have a mini freak out moment. Then I realized it could still be weeks before this wee one arrives. Either way I gave the dog a bath and haircut today just in case. :)

Questions: I am going to ask my midwife this next week what the end-game plan is if I go over my due date.

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan? Nope, not really. My only real plans are to get an epidural, have skin to skin contact after birth for an hour if possible, and delayed cord clamping. Other than that, have a baby!

10/2017: Twins confirmed with TTTS at 22 weeks.
10/10/17 Twin B passed after in utero placenta surgery
    11/2/17 Twin A & B born
11/26/17: Twin A passed after 24 days fighting in the NICU

    BFP: 10/2/18 EDD 6/15/18

  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth): 37 weeks 1 day

    Baby size: Romaine lettuce apparently?!

Upcoming appointments or milestones: just have an appointment Thursday, just waiting for my little girl to make her grand entrance!

Rants/raves/symptoms: lost part of my mucous plug a couple of days ago, 1cm dilated as of 5 days ago. Super emotional

Questions: Anyone have experience with PP depression? Idk why I'm anxious about developing it.

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan? i have an idea of how I would like it to go but I know it doesn't always work out
  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth): 35 weeks

    Baby size: Pineapple

Upcoming appointments or milestones: I will have an appt. this Saturday. She said she's going to check my pelvis(?), and I also have to have the MRSA throat swab. They don't do the TDAP here. We will also make our "reservation" as they call it at the hospital. We have to pick out a room package for what we want when we deliver. We are getting the cheapest one and the "after delivery" room is still like a nice hotel room. The other expensive packages are insane, like your after-delivery room is a penthouse with its own kitchen.

Rants/raves/symptoms: I've noticed my back is starting to ache again but bearable. I just can't stop complaining about my poor ribs!
I've basically finished the nursery but I feel it's super unimpressive so I'm embarrassed to put pics on the nursery thread.

    Questions:

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan? Nothing in writing, just a few key things I went over with the doctor. Skin to skin right away, only breastfeeding and no formula, only DH allowed in the delivery room, delayed cord clamping, and an epidural for sure. She said, "well maybe you could go without it, you never know." I said, "Nope, I know."

  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth):  39 weeks

    Baby size:  pumpkin

Upcoming appointments or milestones:  induction, Monday.

Rants/raves/symptoms:  my pelvis and hips are so sore, and I am just exhausted!   Still trying to get my house prepared for baby.

    Questions:

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan? well, I did have a plan to have the least number of interventions possible, and I still prefer that, but more seem to be necessary than I otherwise would have preferred. Hopefully my induction goes smoothly and I can have a vaginal delivery but I am trying to be open to an epidural and the possibility of a c-section. Hope for the best, prepare for all others, right?
  • @liljabee good luck with your induction on monday! Sending some good delivery vibes your way!

@HannahO28 your birth plan sounds exactly like mine. Gimme all the drugs!

@jkershaw2013 I am also anxious about developing PP depression as I struggle with general anxiety disorder and depression already. It might not be a bad idea to go over this concern with your OB now. I am on Zoloft which is considered safe for pregnancy and nursing. My DH also has come to a few of the last appointments and my midwife and nurse have gone over the warning signs of PP depression in comparison to the normal baby blues one might experience in the first few weeks. It makes me feel less anxious that we have a plan in place.

  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth): 37

    Baby size: romaine lettuce

Upcoming appointments or milestones:  We have an US Friday to check on growth and to check my fluid. I'm really nervous because DH can't make it and I'm afraid they'll say something crazy like "we gotta get this baby out now."

Rants/raves/symptoms: Sooo many BH. I had like 15 within a couple hours yesterday at work. They usually stop if I can sit a while and drink water, but my job is on my feet so I'm trying to find a balance without going crazy. I also feel like i have a bruised and/or cracked rib. It's been bothering me for a while now, but it's just getting worse. Last night I put ice on it and it burned like hell fire.

Questions: Does anyone know if a tech can see if you're dilated with an US? I'm really curious and I don't think my doc is going to check me. Probably a stupid question, I think her head would be in the way.

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan? Yes. My birth center required that they have one on file for me. I just did one with check boxes, which was almost pointless because everything I want is standard practice for them. (Skin to skin, delayed clamping, minimal interventions, etc)
  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth): 36 weeks yesterday

    Baby size: Chihuahua. lol.

Upcoming appointments or milestones: Appointment tomorrow (Monday)
    ht.
Rants/raves/symptoms: I've had an irritable uterus for a couple months and have been on meds to keep my contractions at bay. I stop the meds today to let my body do it's natural thing. My contractions are already super painful. Yesterday I went 8 hours without taking any meds (when it wears off at 4 hours) and I had the absolute worse contraction I've had yet. I could hardly talk. I took my pill and felt better. But I am SO WORRIED about all this pain once I am completely done with the meds. Nights are already the worst, and I won't have anymore meds tonight. I just don't want to have all these horrible contractions for 4 more weeks with no cervical change. (last week my cervix was still closed and high, but starting to thin). I want baby to cook longer, but I can't take these contractions for 4 more weeks! Hopefully it's close to time for my baby to come. I don't want to induce, I hope I don't give in from these contractions.

    Questions:

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan?  I hate those lengthy "everything has to be my way" birth plans. I have my little wants like immediate skin to skin, breastfeeding in first hour, rooming in and such. (my hospital already majorly encourages all that). But I am going to trust my doctor with anything that could happen. I don't want a c-section, but if I have to, I won't fight it. Same with induction. I am not going to stress about that kind of stuff when I need to be as calm as possible for my baby. My doctor will do everything to make sure we are both healthy and that's all that matters.

  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth): 36 weeks

    Baby size: papaya

Upcoming appointments or milestones: My milestone is reaching 36weeks, after LO tried to come at 32 weeks. But now I think we are going to make it to our due date. Other than that just my weekly dr appt.

Rants/raves/symptoms: just pelvic pressure, BH and some swelling but mainly just uncomfortable all over.

    Questions:

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan? No really, I want an epidural and that's about all I have figured out lol.
    Expecting baby #1 August 2016
Already have three furbabies- Blake, Sydney, and Chester

  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth): 37

    Baby size: romaine lettuce

Upcoming appointments or milestones: appt on Monday, just a normal check up.

Rants/raves/symptoms: nothing much going on here. I've been having regular Braxton hicks for weeks now, and dialated to a little over 1 since 34 weeks, with no progression... I have a feeling I'm making it to my due date this time (DS1 was born at 38w5d).  Now I just have to be patient...

    Questions: nope

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan? No. I had a epidural last time, and plan for the same this time. I'd like immediate skin to skin, and delayed cord clamping if possible.

  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth): 37w1d

    Baby size: Romaine lettuce

Upcoming appointments or milestones: Weekly appointment; hopefully getting a plan finalized with the OB office

Rants/raves/symptoms: Carpal tunnel and massive swelling in the ankles and feet are killing me. Also, tons of pressure but no contractions.

    Questions:

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan? We don't have one in the traditional sense. I'll probably be induced due to baby size and swelling and I'm completely okay with it. If it ends up being a c-section, that's ok too; whatever gets DS here happy and healthy. Give me all the drugs, skin to skin, delayed cord clamping and breast feeding (all things the hospital encourages).
  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth): 38 weeks 1 day

Baby size: Winter melon for number of weeks, but baby is estimated at around 7 lb 7 oz currently and measuring a week ahead

Upcoming appointments or milestones: my last week of appts is this upcoming week (NST Tuesday and ultrasound Thursday). If baby hasn't arrive on his own by the last appt, we will be picking a date for induction during the next week! He has averaged out in size again, so they agreed with trying induction first.

Rants/raves/symptoms: I have had two 2 hours long contraction episodes this past week (20 minutes apart for the first one and 15 minutes apart for the second one) that got me excited it was labor, just for them to stop after 2 hours :( I've been walking, having sex, tried some spicy food, etc. just to see if it will move things along (I know it won't unless he's ready), but I guess this little guy doesn't want to come yet. It's making me a huge grouch and overly emotional counting down the days until I'll have to schedule the induction instead. My dh is dissapointed and always asking if my water broke or if I'm in labor at the slightest sound I make, which just makes me more anxious. But we keep saying really it's less than 2 weeks until he's here, so we just need to be patient. But it's so hard when we know he's measuring full term and I'm so uncomfortable.

    Questions:

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan? Yes, it basically says I'd like to try medication free, unless I request medication. And I'd like to have delayed cord clamping and skin to skin. I'm open to whatever comes my way and realize I probably will need pain medication, but I don't do well on pain meds and want to at least try without them first. I just want to make sure we have as safe a delivery as possible for both me and baby!

    Baby size: Romaine lettuce

Upcoming appointments or milestones: Have my weekly appointment this coming Wednesday. Hoping they do a cervical check, I'm curious if my body is getting ready for labor and if I'm dilated/effaced at all.

Rants/raves/symptoms: Lots of pressure, BH, lightning crotch.

    Questions: No.

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan? Nope, but I would do anything to not have a c-section.
  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth):
    36. I can't believe it!!

Baby size: papaya. Feels more like a tractor tire.

    Upcoming appointments or milestones:
One this Thursday. Shouldn't be doing anything too exciting, we do cervical checks every other week when she did my gbs swab. I guess getting my gbs test results so there's that.

Rants/raves/symptoms: Dh is out of town. I am too pregnant to parent a 2 year old alone.

    Questions: nah.

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan?  I plan to birth a baby. That's about it!
  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth):
    37 yippee!

    Baby size:
    Romaine lettuce

    Upcoming appointments or milestones:
Appointment tomorrow afternoon but nothing special.

    Rants/raves/symptoms:
Lots of BH today while I was cleaning the rugs and furniture.

    Questions:
    None

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan?
Scheduled c-section on the 8th at 3:30. Unless she decided to come early.
  • Weeks (pregnancy or baby age if we have anyone that has given birth): 36

Baby size: u/s Tuesday for growth, last one was 32w and he was estimated 4,6, 50th percentile.
    Fruit ?

Upcoming appointments or milestones: Tuesday u/s, diabetes appt, Wednesday follow up with ob, Friday NST. Ugh I'm ready for appts to be over! Hoping for some cervical changes. DD was born at 35w so this is the most pregnant I've ever been!

Rants/raves/symptoms: I keep checking to see if I lost my mucous plug everytime I go to the bathroom. I gave birth within a couple days last time. I know it doesn't happen the same way but I keep hoping for some signs.

I need to do so many things to get ready for baby. Hoping to pack my hospital bag tomorrow. I feel so behind.

    Questions:

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan?
nothing formal. I don't want an epidural. I had one placed with DD but was complete and pushing so it wasn't turned on. I had a super fast labor and it was incredibly empowering. I'm hoping to channel some of that energy and try to relax as I think it's what helped me get through the toughest times.

I will be induced at 39w due to GD. Hoping to go on my own before then

I lost my mucous plug yesterday and I got kinda excited. But it's been crickets here since... Not even a BH contraction. Nada. So I'm wondering if it was a fluke.

I hope your appointments go well this week!

  • @midwestbaby

I've never had BH contractions with either pregnancy. After losing my mucous plug with my first, I had appt a day or two later. I was 2cm dilated, 90-100% effaced and she was at 0 station. I had her the next day. It was shocking because I felt like I had zero symptoms!

My water broke the am after my doc appt. (again no labor symptoms if it wasn't for the water breaking). My labor was all period type cramping (down low) and back labor.

Just my experience, so take it with a grain of salt. But at some point, all these babies are coming out!

    Questions:

I personally don't think it's mandatory. I did one with my 1st but learned just to be vocal about what you want and don't. Also just to discuss things wth your OB/Midwife/Doula.

Rants/raves/symptoms: I keep looking for the mucous plug (still nothing), my pelvis feels like it is breaking in half and I have started crying over little things (sock that didn't make it into the wash and I found too late after the cycle had started).

I just want the baby here safe and healthy. I figure as long as they keep me informed, then I will make decisions as we go.
  • @kristynmac Zac Morris' phone?! Haha! That's great. Does that include the antenna?
  • @Lydiadiane hahaha I am not sure! I use the babysizer site to get a few different size ideas and I love that that was this weeks :)

@No more Miss! I lost most of my mucus plug on the 15th, then a little bit last week, and have had two 2 hr long sets of contractions this past week that led to nothing. My dh was so excited when I lost my plug he texted his family (ew ahh wtf) and now everyone keeps checking in and thinks whenever we call we are on our way to the hospital :(

This past Thursday I was only 1.5cm dilated and 50% effaced still, and the doctor said the mucus plug could come out weeks before the baby would. Ugghhh! I hope for all of you it's followed closely by labor!

My DH was also kinda in a tizzy when I told him about my mucous plug. Especially since I had such regular BH the day before. I think he had an oh shit this is real moment because he finished a few projects he wanted to do around the house like a deadbolt for the front door, some maintenance on the cars, etc. maybe I should tell him I think it will be really soon and see what else he can finish. Lol lol lol!

Rants/raves/symptoms: Lots of hip pain and BH. I'm also feeling nausea and headaches. Not sure if that is normal or not. :/

Questions: Has anyone here set up an induction not due to medical issues? My husband wanted me to ask if we could be induced the day after our due date (if our son hasn't come by then). I'm asking my doctor on Thursday, I'm sure it all depends on my doctor's office but I didn't think they induced unless you are way past your due date or they have a medical concern.

GTKY, Do (did) you have a birth plan? Hoping for a vaginal delivery, with an epidural. I don't have much faith in my pain tolerance haha.
