I don't remember how bad my morning sickness was with my first pregnancy (even though its less than 2 years ago). I think mild, mild food aversions for awhile but nothing that I remember as horrid. No coffee for the pregnancy and I gained 70lbs so at some point I must have been hungry

Starting Week 6 this time to the day I felt AWFUL. Could not even look at or think about food. Took a week off of work, cried and laid around. Lost about 12lbs. I caved with Zofran and no relief; stopped Zofran.
Week 7 I started a 1am/1pm/2night dose of Diclegis, and I feel like over the course of the past week (I'm at 8+1 now) it has actually worked. A photo of pizza actually made me hungry and I sipped coffee today.
Has anyone had a good experience with Diclegis? I'm cautiously optimistic -- wondering why it took almost a full week to make a significant difference. Is this food happiness here to stay?
Whats your experience?
Re: Diclegis anyone?
I started at week 7 after dealing with horrific "morning" (ha, more like all day) sickness from the moment I found out. Initially I took multiple doses a day to get things under control (that lasted about a week). Then I took a dose before bed and in the morning. Somewhere around week 18 I was able to wean down to just an bedtime dose and then I stopped it completely around week 31ish.
It was a god send for me. That being said, I was still sick! It did not get rid of my symptoms completely, I still threw up each morning (and still am at 39 weeks) and deal with nausea on and off. What I found was the diclegis allowed me to keep down some food and liquids and it also allowed me to be able to use other methods to help my symptoms. Things like altoids for the nausea were helpful when taking the diclegis but useless when I was off it.
For me, it was about being able to keep down essential nutrients, drink liquids and function most days of the week. I did not expect it to make me feel normal and be able to eat and drink like I did prior to pregnancy. I think some women do have that experience, which is amazing for them, it just wasn't mine. I was happy to be able to avoid IV fluids at the hospital and make it to work most days.
