Staying on the curve?

Wondering how everyone's LO's are doing in terms of the height and weight percentile on which they were born and the percentile they are now. Are they staying on the curve or going up or down? Share  that information here!

1) What was your LO's length, weight and percentile for each at birth?

2) What is your LO's length, weight and percentile for each at your most recent measurement?

3) Are you b/f or f/f?

My LO was 5lbs 10 oz at birth 36w6d.. and 18 inches long.
She is now 11lbs at 12 weeks old. I'm not sure exactly how that goes in terms of percentile but the doctor was pleased with her weight gain. She is breast fed.

I was never told a percentile. Is this common at everyone elses doctors? At birth, and throughout the last 2 months, neither the doctors in the hospital or her pedi ever mentioned it.

  • At birth, LO was 55% for weight and 70% for height. For both the one and two month appointments he has been 75% and 80% respectively. LO is BF.

My Dr never mentions percent tiles either, I just know from using the  BabyConnect app that has it built in. So far Anna has dropped from 92% to 68% in weight and is all over the place in height.
  • My pediatrician briefly mentioned percentiles at her 2 month appointment but she didn't say anything at her other ones. She said as long as she's growing, she isn't too concerned with percentiles.
  • She dropped from 40% weight and 68% height at birth to 11% weight and 40% height. We did weekly weight checks because she was dropping but got the all clear after maintaining the 11% for three weeks in a row!
  • We've always been told percentiles. It seems like everyone is obsessed with it, even though it doesn't really matter that much. As long as they are growing and healthy! I guess it helps when I see other babies and wonder why my son looks like a giant

    1) What was your LO's length, weight and percentile for each at birth?

8lbs 4oz 20in - I can't remember, but I feel like it was around the 60th percentile? Maybe higher for height?

    2) What is your LO's length, weight and percentile for each at your most recent measurement?

13lb 9oz 22 1/2in (I'm pretty sure this height is wrong. We measured at home and think he's 24in) and gaining, I'm sure. That was almost 3 weeks ago. He was 90th in weight and head circumference.

    3) Are you b/f or f/f? BF. I find it rather amazing that he can be this big just on my milk. He has a healthy appetite, that's for sure. Little chunk.

  • 1) At 8lbs 9oz and 22 inches, LO was 75th percentile in height and weight.

    2) LO grew two inches and is still (!) in the 75th percentile in height, but he gained a ton and was in the 90th percentile for weight at 13lbs, 9oz.

Oddly enough, LO is not a chubby baby. I keep waiting for his rolls to come in, but he just keeps getting longer. So it makes no sense to me that he's only in the 75th percentile of height but in the 90th in weight. There must be a lot of super long, super skinny babies out there

    3) mostly formula!
  • My LO was 10lb 14oz and 23" at birth - 98% for both I think?

At 10 weeks he is now 14lb 8oz and 25" - still tall but now at 85% for weight.
