I had to go back a second time to get images of the heart and where the cord enters the stomach. They were very casual about it saying they just couldn't see the right image due to how the baby was positioned, but of course I started to freak. I do remember with my first how they pointed out all the chambers and parts, and during the u/s this time it wasn't pointed out the same in-depth way. The tech did an amazing job pointing stuff out so I trusted that they really didn't get good images. During the second u/s baby wasn't cooperating again and I was looking at going back a third time. It took forever for the images to be approved. What should've been a 30 minute scan took 90 minutes just for those few images. Then I was told they got what they needed. My Dr. also checked in after each appointment to confirm. Has your Dr. said anything that would make you alarmed? The tech can't say anything, but your Dr. can.
ETA: Heart and cord were fine. They just needed the clear images.
My Dr called after my a/s to tell me that baby's uterer is slightly enlarged (one is 4.4mm the other 6.2mm). She explained this can be a "soft call" for down syndrome but everything else checked out fine. Trying to just stay calm and wait for our next scan at 28 weeks.
We're going back the 27th to see a specialist bacause our scan showed a bright bowel (echogenic bowel) which is a soft marker, but could be a possible indication of an infection or Down syndrome. I'm nervous, but I'm not going to allow myself to stress until I know for sure there's something to stress about. Good luck to the rest of you ladies.
