Middle name suggestions

My mother in law suggested we shouldn't use the middle name that we were going to because of the meaning behind it. Originally we were going to go with Mitsuko after my father in law who has passed. 

However we we are now looking for something new. Pretty sure the first name is going to be Malia. My daughters middle name is Faith and another child I had was Grace so they are out but I would like to stick around the same theme. Any suggestions?

    mitsu is apparently 3rd son and when they named my brother in law with it they were yelled at by their parents because he wasn't 3rd. However when it's looked up we get a different meaning.  "Ko" is just the girl version of the name

    So...they were yelled at by their parents, but still loved the name and used it, and then decided to discourage you from using it? My vote is for the name you already like, with a wonderful meaning of honoring your FIL.

    sorry, I have a spre spot for people that ruin names for new parents! I think it's a great name and such a good reason.

    I agree but culture factors play into. I picked the first name and was ok doing middle after my fil as there won't be anybody else to carry on his name. I know it's important and being this one is a girl she will more than likely change her last name some day. 

    My mil thought I might want a "normal" name Bing the first name is Hawaiian and the last is Japanese. If I wanted "normal" I would have said so in the first place

    Yes. We have been talking about it and there are several meanings. English meaning is blessed child so we might just tell mil we are using it.

    If you decide to go with another virtue name, Mercy could be a good option.

    F--- your mother in law. Name your child whatever you want. 

    This is is the exact reason we have shared 0 name ideas with our family. DNW their unsolicited opinions muddying up the waters.

    however, if it's YOU who sincerely wants a new name, I second hope and would add Chastity or Honor.

    We also have the name Melia on our short list for a girl's name, but spelled differently (Melia is a Hawaiian word for the Plumeria flower if spelled with an "e")....anyways, we are thinking of Melia Brooke but I also really like @mom2adoodle 's suggestion of Malia Hope
