Cramping after D&C, question & intro

Hey ladies, I've never posted in this thread so I'll start by saying Hello, and sorry you're all here. I became pregnant through IVF and my LO's heart stopped beating around 9 weeks. I had a D&C this past Friday, so tomorrow it's been a week.
I didn't have much spotting or pain afterwards, but today I am having spotting every time I use the restroom and my cervix has a throbbing pain that shoots upwards. I do not have a fever and don't feel sick. Does this sound like anything that happened with you?
I will call my doctor tomorrow for his opinion, but sometimes it's just nice to check with ladies who have gone through it as well.

HI @Tusername I am sorry for your loss. I had cramps a few days after d&c that we're not helped by ibuprofen for heat. I called the on call OB and ended up going to the ER (d&c was Monday, ER the following Saturday). It turned out I had retained material, which is not necessarily unusual, but I had a concerning amount apparently. I ended up doing a round of cytotec.

I think calling your doctor is definitely the right move. GL and hugs.

I had more bleeding and cramping a week or two after D&C than after... but nothing ibuoprofen couldn't candle. Do you have a follow-up soon?

Thank you ladies. I left a message with my doctor this morning. I don't have a follow up planned until after I start my period. I am having more spotting and some cramping today.

I am sorry for your loss. I had some really strong cramp in the evening the first three night after my d&c other than that a few mild cramps off and on

Are you seeing your RE or OB? I had a follow up two weeks post-d&c scheduled, but I asked my RE if I could see him instead of my the OB that did the surgery. Added bonus of no waiting room full of happy pregnant people. Not that I wish IF on anyone, just there's a certain camaraderie/silent support in the RE waiting room, it seems.

@BrightenMySky I totally understand what you're saying about the waiting room. I'm seeing my RE.
Unfortunately, I didn't hear back from him today. He's always very good about returning phone calls so I don't think the message got passed to him. I'm sure everything is okay, I was just a little concerned because I went from no pain to sharp/throbbing cervix pains.
