Hi all. Just want to introduce myself as I'm new to this board, but far from new to infertility and TB. I hope this is the appropriate forum for me given I have 2 little ones and I don't want to upset anyone, but after reading through some posts on page #1 and #2, I think this might be a good spot for me. I didn't participate in any TTC forums on TB before, but I'm expecting this will take some time so I want to join in. I hope that I can share my prior and upcoming treatment experiences with some of you new to infertility and/or just needing to vent (because trust me... I get it!). Plus, I don't think anyone on the other TTC forums who will get what the hell I'm talking about. AndPlusAlso, if history repeats itself I could be here a while and who doesn't need a little support themselves! My promise to this board, after this intro is that I will refrain from mentioning my LOs (unless specifically asked) as I know the pain of hearing about someone else's seeming luck/success all too well. I removed my baby tickers from my sig until my time on this forum ends (either because we stop trying or get lucky with another baby). I will only mentioned the kiddos below to share a bit of my journey and what finally worked for us.
Some background on me... about 6 years ago DH was diagnosed with Mosaic Klinefelters Syndrome and after undergoing TESE surgery he was officially diagnosed as infertile. Not a single solitary swimmer :'( . About 2 years into failed fertility treatments using donor sperm and switching clinics, I was diagnosed with PCOS. I always knew something was wrong, but the doctors at the first clinic made me feel guilty for pushing them when they had "female factor" patients in the waiting room. It was the worst experience and completely demoralizing when cycle after cycle was canceled due to lack of a dominant follicle/ovulation and I just kept being written off as someone who was "young, healthy and only here because of male factor". In one cycle I had one of the biggest cysts they had seen and it was beyond painful. I finally knew what i had been feeling all those years prior to TTC! All in, it took just over 3 years of various fertility treatments until we had a successful pregnancy with our first child (DS). Over those 3 years, we attempted non-medicated IUI, medicated IUI (different medications/schedules attempted) and then finally IVF. When DS was 10 months, we figured we better hop to it in trying for #2 as we assumed it would take a looooong time for a BFP. We were shocked to get pregnant on the first thaw cycle and were blessed with a DD. We're not so foolish as to expect that kind of luck again, so we're picking up cycling for #3 now. We still have embryos in storage so we'll be doing FET cycles. Quality looks good on some, but we shall see! Waiting for AF to show up, but completed the bloodwork necessary for insurance approval and then will need to complete the U/S testing.
As an aside, I'm adopted as my parents also had issues conceiving. My mother had endometriosis and my father also underwent TESE surgery (unsuccessful). He is a military veteran and nearly died of malaria twice which doctors indicated killed his fertility. I guess you could say I kind of grew up surrounded by infertility and the only message I hope to offer to you ladies here is stay strong! I'm here to vent to and hopefully share some experience.
