Ease my PgAL mind *update

Sorry for the individual post, I probably should put it in the PgAL check in or appts thread, but I'm a huge AW so.....

Ok, so we did the US.

I'm measuring exactly 6w which puts me 5 days behind LMP. However, my cycles are usually 29/30 days, and we only DTD on CD15. So does that sound about right?

HB was 122, which the tech said was normal for where I'm measuring.

*****baby is measuring 8w 2d and has a strong HB of 167!!!!

Unless you know your exact O date, I wouldn't worry about measuring behind. His swimmers could survive up to five days inside of you after you DTD, so you could have O'd on CD 20 theoretically. That would explain measuring behind.

I haven't had any losses, but since u admitted to being an AW I'll indulge you. First I'm sorry you've experienced loss, second I'm sorry you are worrying. If you have read any comments I made regarding measurements, then you already know what happened my second pregnancy. I was given 3 edd based off of measurements. They had measured me a week behind when I was 11 weeks, saying I was just 10, but said everything looked fine. Eventually they changed my edd back to what they originally told me (baby had dilated kidneys so i received extra ultra sounds while they monitered them and eventually said she was measuring ahead) and she was born 3 days earlier than that. It's scary when things aren't following "the book" but to me, if they say things look fine then there's no point in getting overly worried and stressing yourself out, even though it's hard. I hope you can ease your mind and that all is well!

Agree with MrsDramaK- sperm can stick around for 5 days PLUS 6 week US dating is hard in comparison to 8 weeks. Even if you have 29-30 day cycles unless you chart you won't know when you ovulate. You might ovulate later then average and have a shorter luteal phase. If it helps I measured a day behind my O date on a 6 week scan and then measured ahead in my 8 week scan enough for them to change my due date ahead by a few days. Are you getting a repeat scan?

I know it's scary. But I think that this point you're ok. It's not uncommon to be a bit behind where you thought you were. And while it feels like a lot, in the grand scheme of things, you aren't that far off track. It will be two really long weeks, but hopefully that next scan will show everything is ok.

FX everything turns out ok. I also am measuring over a week behind based on LMP, but baby looked great and had a HB very close to your LO. I tend to ovulate late, so I at least have that to help with any fears!

my doctors office also said they won't date a pregnancy until after 7 weeks so I have to go back in as well, but these early ultrasounds can be a bit deceptive!

I likely conceived in a very similar situation to what you are describing. I was tracking my ovulation with temping for about a year, and I tend to have 29-31 day cycles and have always ovulated between CDs 17 and 19. Although my temps were a little bit wonky during the month we conceived, I most likely ovulated on CD 19 and conceived with CD 16 sperm. I hope all is well; hang in there!

The heartbeat sounds good, and if the doctor is not worried, try to be the same! Two weeks feels like forever, but it will pass!

I think if the tech and doctor aren't worried I would try my best not to worry. I hope the next 2 weeks fly by so your mind can be put at ease and everything is perfect.

I'm so sorry you're going through this! I have heard ultrasound measurements can be + or - 5 days. So you are right in that window. I know it sucks and waiting is the worst but I would try not to worry since you don't know your exact O date.

If you saw a heartbeat I wouldn't stress. I measured off, but in the other direction which is impossible because it would have put "day 1" of this pregnancy prior to my ectopic removal from my last pregnancy and about 5 days before my HCG dropped to negative.

Don't switch boards! We will end up with a bunch of January and March babies in the end.

I did IVF so I know exactly how far along I should be. When I went in for an ultrasound at 6w5d, I was measuring 4 days behind and was very worried. But the follow up ultrasound at 7w6d measured perfectly. Best wishes to you!
