Better late than never for the announcement/birth story! I was due June 8 but had not made any progress and plans were made to induce me at my doctors appointment on June 13 as I was not dilated at all. Induction was scheduled for June 14 at 6PM. At 5AM on June 14 I started having regular contractions and ended up going to the hospital at 8AM. By 11AM I was 3 cm dilated but then I got stuck at 6 cm and the doctor gave me 3 choices: get an epidural to see if it helps me reduce tension to progress labor, start pitocin or wait and possibly end up with a c-section. He scared me enough to get the epidural which worked to help me progress. They gave me the epidural around 5PM and when they checked me at midnight I was at 9 cm and by 1:29AM I was pushing and at 1:54AM Nyssa was born. I only ended up with 2 stiches (though I would have preferred 0!). Nyssa was born at 8 lbs 4 oz and 21.5 inches long. So in love!
