Coconut oil allergy?

wondering if anyone has experience with a potential coconut allergy. LO has been supplemented with formula since 4 days old. He's also had eczema/rash around his mouth since then. We've been to a pediatric dermatologist a few times and went the route of steroid creams with no real improvement. I did try other natural remedies with no improvement either. One in particular, coconut oil, caused LO to break out with a red rash all over. So, ok, stopped using that. But all along we're still giving him formula that contains coconut oil as an ingredient. Dr and husband think it's not possible that the eczema around LO mouth is connected with the formula, but I can't think of anything else. I just ordered some Holle formula to give a try (looks as though most other formulas we would prefer have coconut oil, we currently use earths best). Just looking for any experiences. I'm looking forward to trying the new formula and keeping my fingers crossed for improvement of the rash. It's the first thing people see and comment on.

    What type of nipples are on your bottles? Maybe that could be a trigger. Have you tired using a different soap to clean your bottles? I purchased a soap for cleaning bottles and one of the main ingredients was coconut oil....

    I'll look into that. I did just find that the body wash I was using on him doesn't list coconut oil as an ingredient, but has a note else ware on the label stating an ingredient is derived from coconut oil. Thank you!
