  • Had a great one!  My husband worked until 2 on Saturday, my little man and I dropped the doggy at the groomers and spent some time at the library playing with the train tables, reading books (and soaking up the free air conditioning!)  When husband got home we went to the annual Clam Festival and ate delicious foods and walked all around with live music playing.  Sunday rained in the morning so we ran errands, but after toddler's nap we all headed to the ocean for a couple hours and little man was SO happy to build sand castles, run the beach and splash in the water.  Maternity swim suit is getting harder and harder to stretch over this bump, but I waddled around a proud mama!

I threw a birthday cookout for DH & made it through the whole day without crying!

@AnnaS930 I can relate to the swimsuit business. I went swimming yesterday and gave up trying to squeeze into my maternity one piece --- I had to switch to the maternity tankini.
  • @ElcaB - Putting it on required a lot of adjustment, hiking it up on the bottom then yanking the fabric up and over the bump. Not fully confident it will last another 7 weeks, but here's to trying.  Also, peeling it off of my body afterwards since it was wet from all of the swimming... yeahhh, that was exhausting.

  • Got most of our regular laundry folded and put away (yeah, I was completely slacking...it was like 5 baskets full) with the help of the kiddos. They also helped to organize their bookshelf. They tend to be little punks and not put the books back the right way so eventually they all tumble to the floor and end up on top of your feet. Ouch.

    It's the little things. :)

  • DH replaced the shocks in his car, so the ride is much nicer now. I spent basically the entire weekend playing video games, and didn't get scolded once for not vacuuming/doing dishes like I promised I would! It was nice to really take advantage of one of our last few baby-free weekends.

  • My parents took DD for the whole weekend and my husband and I caught up on sleep and had adult time. We even went out to a fancy dinner where we didn't have to keep a two year old entertained through the whole meal. It was great.
  • @Trgree1712 - It's been a long while since my husband and I went out without our 1.5 year old. I'm not sure I'd know how to just converse and enjoy food rather than frantically pull items out of diaper bag, while shoveling in food in fear that a meltdown is around the corner!  Good for you, and I'm going to get a babysitter ASAP before #2 arrives so I can do just that!

  • Saturday was an awesome day (besides the part where DH was being a dill hole as I wrote about on Sig Others board), finally got to see our niece for the first time since Christmas, and first time since her dad got full custody from his drug addicted ex. She was so happy to see everyone, and she's always so appreciative, such an amazing little girl we just love her to pieces. After her party with her friends all she wanted to do was alternate playing legos with me and feeling the belly, which was super special. She's already calling herself "big sister" which I think is adorable.
Saturday night we put these cherry blossom wall decals up that I've been wanting to do forever, and DH put up the shelving above the change table. Just have to put the PnP in and her side of the room is pretty much set up! And I showed DH some prints I want to get off Etsy and he loved them, so those got ordered :)

  • @ AnnaSS930 I have to say it was odd leaving the house without a diaper bag and small child but it was awesome! I would say everyone should do it once before life becomes hectic again with a newborn (or two).

We did electrical in DD2s nursery and decided what we are doing with her floor, and she is getting purple sparkles! She still doesn't have walls or anything, but some progress has been made.
We also got to spend a lot of family time just running errands and playing at the pool, which is treasured during the summer (DH's busy season).
  • We did an elective 4d sonogram!  It was so amazing!!  Then my mom and I did a little baby shopping on Saturday.  Then yesterday, I woke up to see the terrible news of the police officers killed in Baton Rouge.  This is my home... 2 of the cops that were killed live less than 5 minutes from me.  It was a very emotional weekend!  #prayforbatonrouge
  • We had friends come over with their 8 month old, it was the first time they saw the new place.  We grilled out, went swimming and hung out all day.  It was only the second time in a pool for their baby, I felt very special to see it.  Yea the swim suit is a tankini which shows a little bit of my lower bump if I don't hold it, and in the water the bump totally pops out, oh well.  I didn't have a bikini bod before but am a bit temped to just buy one for now, let the bump and baby get some sun.

We have also have been receiving shower gifts, the big ones.  I'm so excited and grateful, just about all the big items have been purchased.  This weekend will be the showers, so excited to see my family (not so much to travel though).

I love our new table, it was actually our first big furniture buy besides a mattress. I'm still amazed at the price for quality we got.  Next and probably last buy before baby will be rugs.
  • We had a busy Saturday preparing for our babyq on Sunday and DH's parents and nephew came down to help out on Sunday. Our babyq was a blast. Perfect weather and just a wonderful day of seeing friends and family! We got a ton of diapers and wipes to start out with, as well as, some extra gifts on the side which were not expected. It was so nice to spend the day celebrating our baby to come!

We took today off of work to recover from the crazy weekend. So that makes the weekend even better! Haha
  • We had our second and final baby shower!! It was so fun to celebrate with everyone, and MIL and SIL did an awesome job planning and decorating. TBH, as exciting as the shower is the thought that I don't have to do my hair/get dressed up/take a ton of photos again for a while.
  • Congrats @thscary the new house looks great!!

Had our shower and it was so nice to see my friends and family. Got nice gifts (my friends mom sewed us 12 all in one cloth diapers and got us 7 covers and made 12 wipes) and it really made the baby feel real! Then yesterday my dad came over for a steak dinner and we hung out. My parents haven't seen me since being pregnant so it was nice to share the bump in person :)

  • @KimmySchmidt we just finished painting our nursery walls this past weekend too so I'm behind with you. We also got the crib and glider set up, so we just need to add some finishing touches and we will be all set!

  • @KimmySchmidt If you're behind, I'm still in bed and forgot about the race altogether!  Our nursery-to-be is still very much a cluttered office.  Luckily we're not painting, but we won't even be getting any of the furniture until the shower in 3 weeks - let alone setting anything up!  I'm hoping DH and I can kick it into gear in the next week to at least start getting rid of a lot of the useless old electronics crap we've (he's) been hoarding for the past 10 years...

  • Received our crib as an early gift from my in-laws which is exciting. Now if only my husband can find someone to help him out it together. Someone that is not me!
