@Stephanie7693 I wish I had a good answer lol, I am dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced. I've been stuck there for 3 weeks. Hopefully you have better luck! Lol But tomorrow is a full moon so you never know
Yep, both my kids I was dilated and effaced for weeks before having them. It's promising and all, but he could totally hang out for another week or two. I'm hoping if I'm still pregnant Thursday my nurse will be able to just send me to l&d lol. If I get to 4 or more she might!

I bet we get a couple of birth announcements! I wouldn't be surprised at all. I had DD the night before a full moon. It totally does make people have babies! L&D Was packed the day after my DD was born the actual full moon. It was crazy!
I wouldn't be surprised if some of us pop tonight. I'm really hopeful for myself today since I slept so good last night. Before having both my kids I slept good. My first I took a 4 hour nap in the evening and was in labor when I woke up. My 2nd I slept 8 hours and woke up in labor. I slept a good 8 last night and only woke up once, and I feel great today! Now if I could just start having contractions. .. but I'm curious to see what our announcement thread looks like tomorrow
@sbelle474 I've been getting that a lot the last week or so. I think it has more to do with baby's position. I did some yoga last night to ease the pain, and doing cat cows really helped.
My feet hurt as I get out of bed and I have swollen feet by end of the day; I get kind of "short" or get annoyed easily these days, must be hormones.. and feel like eating every two hours. I think I'm going to treat myself to a pedicure this week
He definitely "dropped" over the last couple days! Pretty cool actually to see how much he moved, it was inches! It did hurt my lower stomach muscles a bit when they stretched, but the top of my belly is so much lower now, it's crazy. I've been carrying super high this whole pregnancy, and it was starting to get to the point my stomach was so smooshed I couldn't keep anything down in any quantity.
I had a patient who told me that I would have my DS on a full moon. With my due date originally being 8/17 and the full moon being August 18th she swore I was going to go a day late. She heard I was put on bed rest and called up to the office and told someone to get me word that I will be having my DS on July 18th or 19th bc It was a full moon.
Of course last night, every dream I had, I was in labor. Then this morning I woke up with some really high blood pressure readings (that thankfully lowered) and just an overall feeling of crap. So I got a tad bit worried. LOL I will be 36 weeks on Wednesday, I'd like to NOT go into labor tonight or tomorrow. Rather wait for my scheduled c-section next Wednesday.
34 Mother of 4 year old and 2 Labs. Happily Married to my Hubs of 6 years.
@Allisun85 I am hoping I drop next week too like you. I have also been carrying really high, which makes eating anything more than yogurt and fruit difficult. Food just sits there like a rock and my lungs feel like I ran a 5k after just walking to the mailbox.

Y'all got me excited to see what this full moon brings everyone! Hoping mine stays put another couple weeks at least .
the past few days I've had like a "scratching" feeling down low, maybe on my cervix? I really don't know how to describe it other than the baby clawing/scratching at my vagina, haha. Is that crazy?! Anyone know what I'm talking about?!
@Sunnyn75 yes! It feels like LO is clawing her way out! I also feel like she's grabbing onto my hip bones and trying to poke her head through my pelvis!
I will say when there is a full moon or there is a huge temperature change, the hospital does seem to deliver more babies.

This swelling is real ya'll. Blood pressure is always fine, but today I was on my feet a lot... and just stepped on the scale and weighed 5 lbs more than I did this morning. Wtf. There's no way I ate 5 lbs worth of food today!!
@rikopy i sometimes have that. I've read that it could have something to do with baby's position? I've also heard that it could be a sign of something more serious like a blood clot. Mine always went goes away after sleeping, so I havent worried about it too much.
Does anyone have one foot/ankle that's significantly more swollen than the other?
Yes! My right foot looks like hell! My midwife said she thinks it's because baby favors that side. My BP is fine and no protein in my urine. Apparently this is just normal pregnancy swelling.

@midwestbaby Holy hell... That looks really uncomfortable! Does your swelling go down overnight like @KMeredith82's? I've been fortunate enough to make it until now without swelling, so it worried me a bit when I noticed it... Especially after I Googled it (I need to stop doing that).

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. On the left was when it came down quite a bit after one night. I have tried compression socks but they don't seem to help. So I am just kinda sucking it up. My midwife didn't seem too concerned.

I asked my doctor what could be done to help with the swelling and her response was "don't be pregnant in the summer".... I had it with my first too and I guess as a positive I felt like I lost a good amount of baby weight after he was born bc I stopped swelling?? Just sucks when it hurts to walk and shoes no longer fit!
@KMeredith82 so I was really worried this morning because he wasn't moving like normal even after drinking juice and eating. I called my doc and went in for a NST and baby was fine. I felt kind of embarrassed but they assured me it's better to be safe than sorry! I have an ultrasound scheduled next week so I'm going to ask what position he's in, I'm thinking maybe they are starting to get lower and in a different position and that's why it's harder to feel them. at least Thsts what my hypothesis is lol
After I eat I am actually finding myself out of breath because she is so high up. I feel like I just got done going up 5 flights of stairs and I just ate a bowl of cereal..while laying in bed.
@squishy0511 glad that you called and had the NST, better to check! I would have done the same thing if juice didn't make a difference. I ended up calling my dr too, and was told to do juice and focus on movements and report back after 30 mins. I was able to get to 10 including one stronger one so I felt better. They did tell me that the way movement feels can change as they run out of room but amount of movement should still be there. I think my issue is that I get so busy, both at work and at home with my son in the evenings, that I don't remember to focus on it. When it was strong kicks it was still noticeable, but these subtle movements are likely going unnoticed.
Baby boy's new habit is giving me a contraction after I use the restroom, nearly every time. And he dances around while I'm on the toilet. And I am drinking 500 gallons of water and peeing 500 times a day, so surely it can't be from too full of a bladder. Weirdo kid.
I'm pretty sure my area down under is swollen. The weird thing is, baby hasn't dropped at all that I can tell. It feels like I put a tampon in halfway and I'm walking around uncomfortable as heck. Anyone else? Or am I the only one with weird lady bits?

@midwestbaby I felt really swollen down there last week, but it seems to be almost better now. My baby had dropped, he's sitting right in my pelvis and was when the swelling started. But maybe it has to do with their position too? It was pretty uncomfortable, so I'm hoping that awesome symptom doesn't come back before he comes out!

I have this too, @midwestbaby! My LO dropped this past weekend and my whole crotch is swollen and achey. The only relief I have found is to lay down a put an ice pack otn it. It helps take some of the swelling down. I told my DH this is has to be why pregnant women waddle lol.
Expecting baby #1 August 2016
Already have three furbabies- Blake, Sydney, and Chester
Anyone else have that their hands or joints on their finger's are soar/ swollen? I wake up in the morning and they hurt to move a bit haha. I've started to wear tensor bandages to bed but if I forget the same thing happens.
@midwestbaby I've been swollen for a while, but this little guy has been hanging out pretty low for the last few weeks. Your LO might have just switched positions and is pushing on your cervix a bit more.

This must be it, because today I don't feel the same pressure and seem to be getting some kicks in different places. I think she is running out of room!

I was also feeling swollen yesterday, but I think it may have been from sitting on a yoga ball trying to get baby to drop. By the end of the day, my hips, pelvis, everything down there was sore. And it felt like baby was punching my cervix periodically. I was hoping baby had moved down, but this morning I felt hiccups over by my hip, so I still don't think (s)he is in the right position still.

@midwestbaby - I've been swollen down there for like 6 weeks. The doctor said baby is head down and so big that it's probably causing pressure and I'm just one of the unlucky ones that swells there. But I am pretty sure by now my whole body is swollen, from my nose to my toes. I tried one of those v2 compression bands for a couple days and it made it worse. At my appointment last week, doctor said I wasn't dilated but baby was definitely head down in the pelvis... but she didn't say how engaged. She's never been one for specific measurements. Crossing my fingers that all of the heaviness and pressure and discomfort and a big baby on the 35 week sono yields some progress at today's 37 week visit!!
@kwilliams3402 I am with ya on the overall swelling. So glad I took my maternity photos the week before it started to flare up!
I tried compression socks and they just made my feet hurt more. Big thumbs down. Sending you lots of baby progress vibes today for your appointment!
