AS and regular appointment tomorrow! My little brother came in from out of town and is staying with us and FI is off work for the day tomorrow, so I'm excited to have them go! One of my sisters was able to be here for the gender reveal scan, I'm trying to include my siblings as much as possible. They are so excited to have a nephew!
AS scan Thursday morning! So excited! H always comes to appts but my mom will be joining us for this one. She is skeptical of birthing center/ CNMW idea (she's just uneducated to be honest and had my 3 siblings induced so she thinks that's what's normal).. I'm anxious to see what she thinks even though that's the route we are choosing. Also so happy to see our little boy! I'll be almost 21 weeks so he will seem so big.
A/S Thursday with 20 week check up immediately after. DH and DS will be at the scan and appointment and I'm excited to share it with them. Still staying team green though!
had our A/S today! baby is measuring on track, nothing concerning on the scan at all. confirmed girl (which we knew from the QNatal test) and found out my placenta is anterior which is why I think I'm not feeling as much movement as I should be. also baby is 9oz so I feel better about my belly pop. baby is breech, I know it's not a big deal right now but it also concerns me since I don't want any reason to have to have a RCS. doc says my headaches are probably due to constipation but she wants to send me to neuro "just in case" since they are lasting days at a time. i'm going to try to get more regular and then we will see if I take her up on her referral.
I'm horrible with time zones...I'm in AZ so we never change actual time, just what we call it. I just had to Google it haha. Only 1 hour apart right now!
Had a check up today that went really well. Nurse acted weird that my BP was up from 120/80 to 124/84 but that doesn't sound like a scary thing to me. I did notice my pasta sauce I'm currently addicted to is a bit high in sodium so I'm going to chill out and find some other food to fan girl over.
I mentioned to the OB that my mom had pretty bad preeclampsia with me and swelled up like a balloon, and so she advised I start a regimen of baby aspirin daily (81mg) to be proactive. Anyone ever done this? Does it help?
Found the heartbeat for the first time with a Doppler today so that was cool. We were having to use the sonogram machine up until now. Really thankful for easy and calm doctor visits. I told my OB that feeling so good lately tended to make me nervous. She jokingly said, "oh don't worry you'll be feeling terrible again soon." She and I had a good laugh at that.
In two weeks we get to do the anatomy scan! I'm so excited to see if we're having a boy or a girl! I was thinking I was going to have to wait 4 weeks until the next appointment and so finding out that it's a separate deal was a pleasant surprise. I'll be 20weeks to the day when we go.
Just left my AS and am waiting to meet with the midwife about it...but found out we are having a GIRL! I had been saying I would be ok with either (obviously I would be and just want it to be healthy) but I was so stoked about the girl reveal I cried in the US room lol.
@caseyewhitaker - I'm on an aspirin regimen. It has been shown to reduce pre-e and stroke (in severe cases) quite drastically when started by beginning of second tri. It's more effective the longer you're on it, so 1/2 way is a good run. I ranted about this yesterday, but 124/84 is not a huge deal. Had you been rushing, were you sitting with your feet firmly planted and back supported for over 3 minutes before the reading, were you talking/moving during the reading? You do have a higher risk of your mom had it.
I know pre-e is nothing to mess with but I've seen a lot of fear mongering from nurses and docs on this board for 3 or 4 points above normal.
We have our AS on Thursday too! Can't wait to see our little tumbler in action and hope everything checks out OK!
We are also meeting with a doula tonight after work and I'm really excited about that. Finally, we are interviewing three day care facilities Thursday (took the day off of work to get some baby stuff DONE!!)

@DiFazette yes, she was chattering away at me and asking me questions the whole time she was taking my blood pressure. She was the most unchill nurse I have experienced there. She told me to go in the bathroom and not give her a sample, I had to poke my head out and clarify that she did in fact want a sample. She laughed maniacally and said yes she needed one, etc. She asked me several times if I was having any trouble/complications like she didn't recall asking me or me answering her. Asking me if I wanted the genetic blood testing thing, me saying no, then going on and on about how the doctor was going to talk to me about it anyway and so on. As an empathic type personality, intense people can spike my anxiety, now that you mention it.
*One time I was riding home from college with a friend who ranted about drama with her roommate (a mutual friend, so awkward) and boyfriend for two hours. By the time I was dropped off at the doctor's for my appointment my blood pressure was through the roof. They wisely had me calm down and relax for a while and checked it again, and it was perfectly normal.
I also noticed my favorite marinara I've been eating daily has about 550mg of sodium per 1/2 cup and so I'm going to stop enjoying so much of that in case that's having any sort of effect. I'll probably go today or tomorrow to grab some baby aspirin too for good measure. I'm all about proactive prevention from issues I don't want. If I end up with issues anyway, then I can at least feel better knowing I did all I could on my end.
AS is done! Baby GIRL is doing perfect, but mama has a really short cervix and has to get that checked out next week. And now H and I have to try and come up with a girls name. We have 4-6 boys we love/like pretty well but no girls we even can list.

@sourlemon YAY!! We will have 1 of each. I have an entire list of names that I want to check out and H is all poopoo-ing even looking at them. I also now have to get used to having poofy tutu stuff in my closet, from my mom/mil/sisters.

Appointment went well, baby boy is weighing in at 12 oz and 19+5w, and he comes in at the 68th percentile for overall measurement but 90th percentile for his head. I was an average sized baby but my head was always in the 95th percentile, so he is already taking after me. Oh and c section is scheduled for December 1 so unless I go into labor before then, that will be baby's birthday!
oooh congrats to all of the scans and appointments so far!!
we have our OB appointment tomorrow at 430, we'll find out the results of our A/S scan and NT scan. My ob is on call that day so I hope he is not running too far behind
@Gizmo1231 congrats! I felt that way when i learned we were having two more boys! It'll be loud and dirty and rough and FUN!
All this...we are working on our 3rd boy (AS confirmed this yesterday, not that I questioned the bloodwork ). Don't worry @Gizmo1231, they'll (hopefully) end up having the best of times together and keep each other entertained. Our DSs (3.5 and 2) are thick as thieves most days. It's really sweet to watch them play (and roughhouse a bit) together, and hopefully, DS3 will be joining in on the action when he gets older.
Went for a HB appt yesterday. Was freaked out that HB was 140 since it was in the 160s the last two times. Dr. Was not concerned at all, but gave me an internal moment of panic.

@babyrobbinsadventure Heart beats level out in 2nd tri and should stay fairly consistent through end of pregnancy now.
Re: Weekly Appointments 7*18-7*24
