So I got a box of free Upspring products from Influenster to test out and review.
I got a bunch of the Milkflow drink mixes in Berry, Citrus, and Chocolate, some nipple balm, and some Milkscreen alcohol detection strips.
First the Milkflow - It's supposed to help milk supply and it did! It just made my 2.5 month old super gassy and miserable so no go for me. The drink itself made with Fenugreek and Milk Thistle didn't taste bad however the Chocolate in particular had a lot of sugars, preservatives, and artificial flavoring so if you're not into that there's a heads up.
The nipple balm was nice because it did not have lanolin and doesn't have to be wiped off before feeding. It's a product I will find useful during cluster feeds and after baby starts teething I'm sure.
The Milkscreen was fun to play with though they weren't very accurate. Over the holiday weekend I had a few drinks and tested my milk and got zero result. Last night I had a couple of drinks after baby went to bed and got a very clear result. If you are going to drink while breastfeeding I would go by the general rule of 'Sober enough to drive, sober enough to nurse.'
Re: Upspring Products from Influenster
The nipple balm has been so very helpful during my little one's teething process! I also like that I don't have to take it off before nursing.
The #milkscreen was funny after a Saturday date night with the hubby
