Im so proud that i have one this week! and ive been waiting for days to share it!! lol
WTF MIL!!! Back story - So we told our parents weeks ago our baby boys name and figured they would spread it through the family since we live far away. His name is Law.re.nce And.rew with his first name after my grandfather who passed away when i was a kid and his middle name a variation of my MIL maiden name. I was at a family function this weekend and dh's paternal grandmother walks up to me and innocently says so I hear we are calling him Andy.....WHAT???? NO! His name is Law.re.nce!!! Which means my MIL has been telling my husbands entire side of the family to call him by his middle name. MIL hears me kinda flip on the poor grandma because im in shock and then for the rest of the party every time MIL said hes first name she would roll her eyes.... UGH.
WTF boss.. This could be considered TMI too, but I think more WTF. She walks into my office and says you are so lucky! I have the worst cramps because I'm on my period and you don't have your period right now. I basically just blankly stare at her. 1. we are not friends, I don't want to hear about your period problems, 2. I still have to wear a pad thanks to leakage, 3. we are NOT friends.. She's the type of boss who wants to be your friend but when you're late 1 day out of 260 days of the year she makes sure to show up right behind you and say, "you were late today." No kidding. I was there when it happened. UGH
WTF MIL, we are in town visiting and out of the blue she tells my DD that she's going to take her for a pony ride. There isn't any fair going on with pony rides and there isn't any place near here that offers one. You get my child all excited for a pony ride that she's jumping around and super excited. Then proceeds to say, "Let's go look (online) where we can take you." Only to find out there isn't any place. Thanks for getting my kid all excited and then tell her sorry, leaving her in tears.
@camcbeth- ugh! That sucks. I can totally see my MIL doing the same thing.
Why do they do that? I get they have good intentions and mean well, but I just sat quietly in disbelief on what I was hearing. I texted DH as it happened while he was on an errand with my FIL while it was happening.
My nephew's birthday party was Sunday. My sil has started doing a family party in the morning, followed by a friends party in the afternoon. As we were hanging out kind of in between parties, she starts griping about how much time and money she's spent taking her kids to the Dr in the past two weeks and proceeds to administer antibiotics to all of them. Wtf? You just had a bunch of small kids at your house and more will be arriving soon! Guess who was inconsolable with ear pain and a 101.3 temp on Tuesday? My 17 month old. Thanks. Thanks a lot.
