I'm a second time mom and need help deciding to buy a new pack n play or not. Is the bassinet worth it? With my first I used the mini arms reach co sleeper in my room and then her crib. I was a stay at home mom. At 8 months I opened my in home daycare and by then she was too big for the bassinet part of the pack n play and so she only ever used the lower level. We travel alot to camp and family. There is 5 years difference so I don't have a pack n play and not sure if it is worth the extra cost. This time I only have one month of maternity and then I have to start working in my daycare again. thoughts? advice?
Oh I forgot to mention my daughter was 9lbs6ozs when she was born and I'm pregnant with a boy this time. My daughter grow fast so not sure.
Re: second time moms - pack n play question
We have had a pack and play for our 2 LOs for travelling, naps in the living room, naps outside, etc... We got a lot of use out of it, and plan on using it again if needed.
My best friend has had her pack play since her first LO, she is about to have her third as well, and never used it. I think the only time it got used was when I was over with my youngest and he needed a nap.
I hope you find what works best for you!! Good luck!
I'm a FTM, but we are planning to use the pack n play in our bedroom to start out. I specifically bought one that had the bassinet feature because I figured it would be easier for me to get him in and out for MOTN feedings. Our pack n play also has the "napper" and "diaper change" features which we decided not to use at this time. No idea if this will work the way it does in my head, but that's the plan to start!
As for cost, I will say that I've seen people selling all versions of pack n plays in various Facebook mom groups and other places (like yard sales and Craigslist). They're usually much cheaper then brand new. If you haven't looked there I would! You can probably find a good deal and that way you at least have the option without the full price tag.

I also have several friends who have used the pack n play without the attachment from day one. If you already have a pack n play, i would say skip it.
