I'll start.. I transferred to a new position last week and I feel I am grasping everything pretty well for the most part. I still have a lot to learn and understand but so far so good. My WTF is my completely forgetting to delete someone's training out of a system and now negative repercussions will come down because of it. Damn! Come on me, pull it together. Oh and this comes after a night of my choking on stomach acid and having to sleep in the recliner which was awesome by the way. So tired!!!
@CRich15 sucks! I hate when you know what you did but you can't do anything about it.
Why is is it that when I can't have a food, all I can think about is that food? I'm not supposed to eat anything until after my GD test (I already had lunch, now I fast for 3 hours) and all I can think about is a snickers. And Fruit Loops, oh, God, the Fruit Loops.
WTF to the guy at work who says to me 'I can't wait until you're a mom cause then you'll understand.' This was in response to my severe eye-rolling for him showing up late/leaving early/leaving inexplicably 20 out of the past 35 days for work (this being a rough estimate as it's gone on a lot longer). He constantly looks stoned and/or asleep while at work. He had a baby girl last August. His wife is an SAHM, this is their only child so far, yet he can't get into work on time more than two days in a row. He told me they're thinking of trying for baby #2 come December and I want to scream at him that they can't figure their SH*T out yet for the first one why go try for a second one?! I would totally understand if there was something wrong with their daughter, but thankfully there is not, as he's always detailing how great she is and showing pictures. But sweet lord, get some sleep dude and start showing up to work on time and lucid! Sorry this rant comes because his lack of work is affecting mine and how my customers perceive me (because he has to complete things first before I can complete my part of a project), and to say its working on my last nerve is an understatement.
WTF MIL (I've already ranted about her a lot this week, but what is one more?) and DH. Went to empty the dishwasher yesterday, and she had loaded one of my hand wash only pans in there. DH was the one that finished loading and started it, so he's at fault here, too. Pan appears to be fine, but I'm still pissed.
@camichael84 - That drives me absolutely INSANE! No matter how many times I've told DH not to put those kinds of pans in the dishwasher (and he knows which ones they are) he'll still do it occasionally. I'm going to have to beat him with those pans one day....
Wtf to the roofers next door who have started every day this week by hammering away at 6 am. I get that it's the southeast and you want to take advantage of the slightly cooler weather, but couldn't you at least wait until 7? Or maybe, I'm more upset at my neighbor for apparently okay-ing this without checking to see if it would disturb anyone.
WTF to smokers who smoke while
walking on crowded public sidewalks. I work in a big city, and on my walks to
and from work, I am constantly encountering smokers and inhaling their smoke.
Because the sidewalks are so congested during rush hour, its near impossible to
avoid these people. There is only so much slowing down, speeding up, or turning
I can do to avoid them. It’s rude in general, but especially to pregnant women
who don’t want to inhale second hand smoke. If someone wants to smoke, that’s fine,
but just do it off to the side in designated areas.

WTF is up with the cost of daycare!? I had an idea of what it would cost, but now that it's real I feel like I got punched in the stomach. I don't know how we're going to manage.
@MrsVoorhees you have my sympathy! If I had to fast for three hours I'd be so nauseous. If I don't eat a small snack every two hours, I start dry heaving.
@ElcaB - It's ridiculous. We've been lucky enough to find one of the less expensive one in our area that also happens to be absolutely wonderful. But I still feel the pain every week we have to pay it.

Hell yes to this! My daughter started daycare and it was almost the same as our first mortgage. WT*, we're use to it now but with baby #2 on the way I'm like wth were we thinking and how are going to pull this off?? Cue my mom to help out but that only lasts so long until the drama begins
Omg daycare is ridiculous!!!! We looked at doing like 2x a week so I could focus on my classes but there is no way we could afford the nice ones on 1 income
Where I am it's between $240 to $400 per week. Actually there was only 1 daycare center I found that was as low as $240, most were around $350. We signed up right away when we found out, and were shocked that it's such a highly-rated daycare for the price.
Ours is $800/month for one, then the same for the second but we will get a 10% discount for having two. The price has actually gone up but the director and I have become friends and she will keep my price the same for both girls.
Also daaaaaaamn I thought ours was expensive!! Granted, we live in Oklahoma so it's probably the same amount as you guys once you factor in cost of living.
Here in the great state of Alaska, I pay $560 for DS2 and $540 for DS1, so that is $1100 a month for both but we are looking at another $180 a week when DD starts going. We are planning on pulling DS2 out once I have the baby because I will be off for 12 weeks and he goes to preschool for half a day. I will save like $2k in that time.
I try my damndest to make people understand that while me and my husband are military to military (apparently this means we are loaded with money) we are poor. I pay $15k a year in daycare alone. I'm not trying to give anyone unsolicited advice or be that person that is all like "wait until the baby gets here" but I am seriously trying to prepare you for the shock you will receive on how much $$ You pay for just daycare alone.
And daycare prices usually go up once a year...usually it seems to be around September. It is only a few percentage points, but it is still worth asking about!

Ugh yes. My daughter just went up to the preschool class so the cost went down by ten bucks a week. Just in time for it to go up five bucks a week in September. Also just paid the yearly enrollment fee.

Daycare in my area actually tends to get cheaper as the kid gets older. They charge way more for infants than for toddlers and more for todllers than for preschool, etc, so at least things will be cheaper in the future!
Eta read your post wrong and mine is completely not relevant! Whoops!
WTF w work assigning me the two post-partum ICU patients that we have. Dude - there are 16 people to choose from and you give me the only 2 that had babies in the last day or so? And we rarely have these patients at all so I'm trying to remember all the specifics to immed post-partum PLUS take care of their complications PLUS not freak out that this could (I know the odds are astronomically not in favor with this) happen to me UGH

Yes, all daycares should get cheaper as the child gets older because infants require a smaller ratio (1:4 typically - 1 teacher to 4 infants) while a 3 year old class can be about 1:10. So, staffing is much easier as children get older...also infants just generally require more attention.
We currently pay $235/week for E. That will be $10 less when he moves to the toddler room ( just a slightly different ratio, nothing extreme. I think 1:4 becomes 1:6 or something, the room starts at 2 years old). With 2 in daycare, the cost will be higher than our mortgage. Yay.
I do put $5000 in a Dependent Care Account.. so it comes out of my check pre-tax and I get it back. With just Emmett, that means I get about 1/2 of the year's worth back... really not bad since I never see the money in the first place. With 2, it will cover the first few months, still something - but not nearly as wonderful.
WTF that the dependent care spending account amount that you can withhold ($5k) hasn't changed since 1986. Seriously. That's not enough for one kid almost anywhere, much less more than one. Family values, my foot.
All of the day cares around us came to 1250-1600 a month. I chose one at the JCC, which is on the lower end of the monthly fee, but requires a JCC membership. That brings it to the higher end. However it will include our gym membership and other things.
@LakeR2014 - I understand your frustration. I had a coworker who was a lot like what you are describing and I always had to pick up his slack. My company is great about being flexible for kid issues, but the one coworker took advantage and our manager was too inept to realize.
@Jabreen - I sympathize! About 3-4 years ago my neighborhood got hit by a bad hail storm in the spring. All summer long we could hear the pounding of everyone getting a new roof. I enjoyed getting paid for by insurance, but the noise was horrible and the cats probably thought the apocalypse was coming.
In regards to daycare, the center my son goes to charges $1300/month for infant care. Having 2 kids in daycare will have us living pretty much paycheck-to-paycheck for a couple years. We are used to having a bit of a cushion, so being on a budget sucks!
@Sbrown721 - Signed up through insurance, in the same way that you would for a health/flex spending account. If your company offers it, you should be able to choose it during A. Open enrollment, or B. A Life Event (aka, giving birth)
