Re: High-Risk Check In 7/11
1. Why are you high-risk? I have a birth defect in my brain (a really long unpronounceable word LOL) that prevents my body from producing appropriate levels of hormones, so I am on medication to help keep the baby, as well as a history of Gestational Diabetes & Pre-E episodes with my last pregnancy, due to my hormone issue, they monitored me very closely with weekly and then 2x week checks, so I'm assuming it will be the same this go around as well
2. How far along are you? Approx 5 weeks
3. What are you doing for treament? I am on Estrogen 2x a day, and Progesterone nightly before bed
4. How are you doing? R/R? Feeling good, just very tired and lots of bloat from all these hormones LOL
5. Any questions? Just saying good luck to all of us

2. How far along are you? 4w3d
3. What are you doing for treatment? The medication I usually take is a calcium-channel blocker, and since the baby needs calcium, I can't take it. Essentially my doctors are currently in the "Cross our fingers and hope nothing bad happens" philosophy. No, but really, I have to wear a heart monitor at all times and I'm at a high risk for developing high blood pressure since they took me off my drugs, so I have to test that all the time...
4. How are you doing? R/R? TW Super freaking nervous. I was crushed when I had a MC at 2.5m pregnant in May. I'm just praying this baby is sticky....
5. Any questions? Do y'all have additional doctors besides your OBGYN who want to be at your delivery to monitor the reason you are at risk?
*TW* - BFP & MC in March 2016.
BFP in June 2016; EDD March 2017.
Samuel born February 2017!
2. How far along are you? 4 weeks
3. What are you doing for treament? Insulin pump and continuous glucose sensor monitoring, trying to check my blood sugar 10 times a day
4. How are you doing? R/R? I suck. My last A1c was 6.0%, and that's all going out the window now I need to increase my basal rates a lot. I like to hang out at 170 recently. What the heck. Two weeks ago my blood sugar didn't go above 120 even with food.
5. Any questions? I really want to do a water birth or something.. like a Birth center.. but obviously can't do anything out of the hospital .. anyone have any knowledge about this as high risk?

3. What are you doing for treament?
Trying to keep my blood sugar in check the best that I can but I'm fighting these highs that just won't budge. I'm on an insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor (CGM) and checking my blood sugar like 10 times a day. I'll be seeing my endo a lot and after my first ultrasound I will get referred for a consult with a MFM specialist.
4. How are you doing? R/R?
I'm starting to feel really discouraged with my blood sugar control. This is such a critical part of development for baby and I can't help but feel like a failure and that I am going to cause damage because I can't get my numbers down. My endocrinologist was supposed to get back to me today to change some of my pump settings, but I never heard back.

ETA: we also had to change both my insulin:carb ratio and sensitivity factor! It sucks.
ETAA: I have my pre-pregnancy basals on "standard" pattern and my pregnancy changed basal on "pattern A". I think you have a dexcom so I don't know of yours is the same? I use a medtronic.

2. How far along are you? 5w4d
3. What are you doing for treatment? There is no treatment since it is an anatomical deformity. My OB and I will discuss whether I will be getting progesterone shots at 30 weeks down the road.
4. How are you doing? R/R? It's really frustrating to know I have this and can't do anything about it. I'm doing well right now, but it will cause me to be in pretty severe pain down the road since my uterus won't stretch normally.
5. Any questions? Last pregnancy I had 4 total ultrasounds, so for financial purposes I'm curious if we'll be following the same plan.
1. Why are you high-risk? – Type 1 Diabetes combined with Thyroid Issues
2. How far along are you? – 6 weeks 4 days
3. What are you doing for treament? – I have increased the number of times a day I am checking my glucose levels, will also start wearing a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) fairly regularly. Both my RE & Endo docs are checking my A1C & TSH levels very often. I will also have more ultrasounds and tests throughout my pregnancy to monitor development and growth.
4. How are you doing? R/R? – I’m doing okay most days. Had a complete meltdown last weekend because I had 2 sites go bad in row and I couldn’t get my glucose levels down and I was convinced that I had harmed the baby. My doctor’s assured me that everything was probably fine, but I still feel guilty…

2. I'm 6w3d
3. Treatment has been watch and wait and refer to MFM once viability is detected (today) I am scheduled for genetic counseling and a sequential on Aug 25th.
4. I'm fine other than being a nervous wreck with weekly betas but all is well now so I'm great.
5.
Im high risk because... Homozygous for MTHFR (C667T) - multiple MC
I'm 4w5d
Treatment- daily Lovenox injections, most likely starting progesterone suppositories tomorrow after more bloodwork results, daily baby aspirin, and methyl folate prenatal vitamins rather than folic acid ones.
Im trying to just remain as calm as I can. My therapist and acupuncturist have helped greatly with this in the past several weeks as I also just closed on a loan to build our first home. I'm also trying not to get too attached- I reserve my excitement since I've had many let-downs.
Question- Does anyone know how long these bruises at the Lovenox injection sites last?? I only just started them yesterday and I have two funky bruises so far.
I haven't had my 1st appointment yet, so I haven't been declared high risk. But, I'm sure I will be...
1. Why are you high-risk?
With my 2nd, I went into preterm labor. I found out at my 32 week appointment I was in full blown labor. The crazy part, I didn't even know! I was rushed to the hospital and by the time I got there I was complete and ready to push. So, with my history of preterm labor and quick labor, I'm sure I'll be considered high risk.
2. How far along are you?
Today, I am 4w 5d. I found out at 3w 4d.
3. What are you doing for treatment?
Not sure yet.
4. How are you doing? R/R?
Since this pregnancy was a complete surprise, I think I'm still in shock. Hunting Pokemon has been very relaxing. Haha!
5. Any questions?
DD: 06-10-15 (32 weeker)
I need to adjust my overnight basals some more. I can't stand going to bed at 100 and waking up at 150-170.
I also should not eat ice cream. I always start eating ice cream when I get pregnant. Why?! I don't eat it any other time!
