FTM here- will I really want to read, write in his baby book, ect. while I'm in labor? Not sure what to bring and don't want to waste precious space in my bag! Thanks
I brought magazines, a laptop to watch Netflix and we played uno, it was really easygoing and nice to have something to do until the contractions got really intense, I don't know about anyone else but at that point I got really focused and even the Netflix was too much to handle. But, it was nice for my husband to have these things as well, I spent at least 2 hours near the end of labor wanting to be completely left alone, so it was good for him to have something to do. If you are wanting to bring something to do but aren't wanting to take up bag space in case you don't use it, just pack it up in your car! Your partner/support person will be able to come and go and can grab it if you decide you want to scrapbook. Everyone is different, and also you never know exactly what you are going to want, so give yourself options just in case
My hospital provides tablets so we can watch Netflix! I plan on bringing my husbands Bose sound link color speaker to listen to calming music. With DD I brought some magazines but was too anxious to read!
I just bought an adult coloring book, and thought maybe I'd try that during labor. Hubby and I will also have our phones and my laptop. I figure that will be plenty to keep us occupied.
I don't plan on bringing anything, but I know I won't be there long before baby comes, and I'll be in pain or pushing. With my first kid we didn't even turn the tv on, with my second I think it was on, but I never watched it. But I agree with pp, just pack of bag of things to do and leave it in your car, if you want it you can have east access to it
I'm thinking Olympics will be on tv for a lot of our labor dates so that may be a helpful distraction!
Not the olympics but when I was in labor with DS there was a show on a 9pm that I loved. Damned if that kid didn't show up at 9:09! Then when they reaired it later that night was the exact time the nurses came in to go over a million things. It took me 3 days to finally catch it on demand with no interruption lol
This time, no. But last time I didn't have a planned c-section and I crocheted an entire baby blanket for a friend who was due 2 mos after me. I guess a failed induction was good for something!
By the time I get to have this baby I won't need anything to preoccupy myself with. I'm so damn ready to be not pregnant I'll sit there happily for 24 hours if I have to. Just get him out!
Re: are you bringing something to do in your hospital bag + what?
