I'm super glad to see this post, I have a TMI question for you wise mamas: I've had two+ urgent, loose stools a day for weeks. I've been hesitant to try anything to bulk them up, however, because while I am having all of this diarrhea, I will also sometimes have what feels like constipation and really struggle to pass my stool (these two often happen in the same day). I saw a doctor who isn't my own yesterday and his suggestion was Colace for a few days to see if it helps but before I try that (doesn't seem like it's gonna be the solution - but I'm willing to try anything) i wanted to see if any of you are having similar symptoms and if you've found any magic cures to help. It's getting bad - I pretty much have about 2 minutes to find a bathroom when it hits, and it's even waking me up because I have to go so badly. Thank you for your help!
Oh, and I am on a thyroid supplement and we had my levels checked yesterday just in case they were too low and that was the cause, but they are right where they wanted them to be.
What about some Metamucil to try and get some extra fiber in? It could help regulate, or if you're like me, fiber doesn't help.
If if all else fails, Imodium is safe. Really so many possibilities, gallbladder, IBS, etc. Just offering my two cents as I've had digestive problems for years now and diagnosed with IBS in January.
I'm having the same issue, my doctor said it's probably hormone related. I've been bulking up my food with fiber supplements (and eating hippie raisin bran in the morning). It can't hurt to try more fiber in your diet.
