Re: PGAL Check-in 7/11

  • Weeks: 33w1d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):  No midwife appointment this week, so nothing much.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Positive vibes to all.  I'm so tired today: DD was up from 3-5 last night for no good reason.

    Questions?

GTKY: We're getting so close!  What do you have left on your to-do list? Since I'm due at the end of August, I still have a lot on the list.  I need to pack my hospital bag, get our newborn stuff (cloth diapers, clothes, PnP) back from BFF, set up the swing, get the carseat out of the basement, buy a new breast pump (going for a double pump this time), etc etc.  The list is long, but nothing too onerous, as long as baby doesn't arrive before Aug 1, things will be ok.

  • Weeks:  35 weeks which means 35 more days!  I'm so excited!

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):  Start weekly appointments next week.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  Just feeling lousy and gained a ton of weight.  Can't sleep at all unless I have like 6 pillows around me!

    Questions?

GTKY: We're getting so close!  What do you have left on your to-do list?  Still SOO much.  Going through the kids toys, getting them ready for back to school and their birthdays.  For baby I still need to find my FMLA paperwork. A few more things for me like hair cut and pedicure!

  • Weeks: 35w4d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): ultrasound and appt today to check on baby's growth. He had fallen off his growth curve 2 weeks ago, so hoping he's had a spurt is back on track!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: just hoping for good news today!

    Questions? Nope.

GTKY: We're getting so close!  What do you have left on your to-do list?
Our move is finally done, yay! So now I have everything else to do... Wash car seat, go through DS1's newborn clothes, organize baby stuff, finish decorating the boy's room, pack my hospital bag. I'm not worried, though, at least we're in our new house and I can actually do all those things!

  • Weeks: 37 today!

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Just left my 37 week appt, everything looks great and we set an induction date! July 25th if he doesn't come sooner.

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Feeling excited!

    Questions?

GTKY: We're getting so close!  What do you have left on your to-do list? Nothing left really. Just waiting on a baby!
  • Weeks: 33w4d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): I have my bi-weekly appointment on Friday and want to have the doc check to see if she can tell position

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I am still feeling really good but the heat is about to set in this week.  I may have a different outlook by the weekend!

Questions? None - Positive vibes out to everyone.  I can't believe we are in the last stretch!

GTKY: We're getting so close!  What do you have left on your to-do list?

FMLA paperwork, hospital bag, big sister bag, and new baby bag.  The room is 99% complete. Her new dresser was delivered today so I will be able to empty the bins of clothes into that this week.  I still have a TON  of work projects tasks to tie.  I am due on the 25th of Aug so my goal is to have all of that done by the 1st in case I go early.

  • Weeks:
    35w1d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
Nothing this week. We're going to do a cervical check next week. That's exciting!

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Starting to get stressed with everything going on. DS is kind of sick? They think it's a virus and want us to keep him hydrated and eat more. Easier said than done when he says his tummy hurts. We're setting up appointments for our dog with specialists and giving her lots of meds. Lastly, my MIL has been on vacation so I'm taking care of MIL's mom and helping with her pets and flowers. I'm too pregnant for this!

    Questions?

GTKY: We're getting so close!  What do you have left on your to-do list?
Lots! We finally got the permit approved for our addition today. Now we just have to get things temporarily placed before we have a room for LO. Lots of washing to do but I'm going to do that this week.
  • @ashleybaker712 - Yikes!  That is a lot for being this pregnant!  Hope you get some rest.  I get my first check next week too.  I'm very curious.

@jacmkelley - July 25th is a great date!  How exciting to have your end scheduled!

  • Weeks: 34 W 5 D

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Ultrasound appointment tomorrow! Since I has Pre-E, I was referred to a High-Risk OB for some extra observation. I can't wait to see how big this boy is!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I am on bedrest, have been since 32 W 5 D. I am for sure battling with a love/hate relationship with it. The evenings and weekends are really hard for me. My poor husband is trying to be supportive and strong for me at the same time.

Questions? Who else takes naps and feels even WORSE than before they laid down? Its almost not worth the nap!

GTKY: We're getting so close!  What do you have left on your to-do list? Hang curtains, Set up pack and play, Pack hospital bags, and just get a few more things for after labor.
34 Mother of 4 year old and 2 Labs. Happily Married to my Hubs of 6 years.
  • Weeks: 35

What's next: cardiologist appointment tomorrow to make sure the pain and pressure in my chest is just from baby and not my heart. Also, OB appointment on Thursday. I'll get an ultrasound to determine baby's position (although she still keeps flipping between breech and head down, you'd think she would have run out of room by now). I'll also get a cervical check at that time. I'm looking forward to seeing if there's been any progress! After that I go to weekly appointments.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Positive vibes to all! I feel really uncomfortable but am so excited to be so close to the end! I can't wait to meet her. She's all I ever think about now.

Questions: Anyone experience tongue tingling and numbness during pregnancy? Yesterday after I ate my tongue did that for an hour and I had a huge panic attack over it. Then I consulted Dr. Google and read it's common in pregnancy due to nerve compression. Go figures!

GTKY: We just have to pack our hospital bag (I've been gathering things for it for a week now) and set up the pack n play. But that's it!!
  • @journogrl23 I haven't had my tongue go numb but my toe did for over a week!!!

    Weeks: 34

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):  I have bi-weekly appointments with U/S one day and NST the other due to being geriatric.  LOL Big Bubba is weighing a week and a half ahead so I hope tomorrow he is slowing down in the growth area.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  Random folks asking me if I am having twins.  No, it's one baby, but thanks for pointing out how huge I am... that just makes my day!  :)

Questions?  I agree with the napping, I wake -up and just want to go back to sleep... and feel worse for it.

GTKY: We're getting so close!  What do you have left on your to-do list?

Um, hospital bag, dresser hasn't gotten here yet, two more baby showers (family and then friends), trying to get things squared away at work.  I am not due until the 20th though, but still 6 weeks is not a lot of time!

  • @sbelle474 an entire week? That sounds uncomfortable and annoying! I hope my tongue doesn't decide to do that. My left arm has been getting numb too but only for a few minutes at a time.
  • Weeks: 37 weeks

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Midwife appt on Tuesday, after having what my midwife called "practice labor" this weekend. The contractions weren't Braxton Hicks, but also weren't leading to a baby, despite being painful, over a minute long, and very close together. As a FTM, I'm surprised I wasn't scared. Honestly think I was in too much pain to be scared. Which, hindsight, in it of itself is scary because I wasn't even at Go Time level contractions and they were miserable. This home birth will really test my endurance.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: My baby shower is finally this Friday, at almost 38 weeks. A tad concerned that she might arrive before the shower! But other than that, I've noticed recently that I'm not so uncomfortable anymore. Baby must have dropped down away from my lungs, and I almost don't feel like it's possible that I'm this pregnant?? I barely notice this giant belly unless I'm trying to get out of bed or the car. It's strange.

Questions? @JournoGrl23 same with the tongue numbness. Oddly enough, I never gave it a second thought when it happened. Too used to any random thing being a common pregnancy symptom, I guess!

GTKY: We're getting so close!  What do you have left on your to-do list? Oh good lord. Our baby shower is Friday, and there will be much to put away, I'm betting. But the crib is set up and her nursery is practically complete. Now, there's a lot of deep cleaning left to do. We were wanting to get a new (not necessarily not pre-owned, just new to us), safer car before she arrived, but that's looking like a sketchy goal. Mostly, we just need to get our space super clean, but it feels like a lot to do when I get tired pretty quickly.
  • @Knottie1442786653 I'm glad I'm not the only one who got the tongue numbness! Normally I brush aside odd symptoms and assume it's pregnancy but yesterday I had an awful panic attack. I thought I was going into anaphylactic shock, but after a few minutes of panicking realized that's impossible since all I ate was a box of Kraft Mac n cheese and I've eaten that hundreds of times before.

I didn't know you were having contractions over the weekend! I was actually going to text you because I hadn't heard from you in awhile. I guess that explains it! Now that I'm further along I'm not sure that I would be afraid of contractions either. I just hope nothing happens until I'm at least 37 weeks though.
  • @ashleybaker712 - Yikes!  That is a lot for being this pregnant!  Hope you get some rest.  I get my first check next week too.  I'm very curious.

@jacmkelley - July 25th is a great date!  How exciting to have your end scheduled!
Yes I'm excited. Dr tried a membrane sweep today, I'm kind of nervous to have an induction. Not feeling any different. I read it can take up to 48 hours for anything to happen. And if I have to have an induction I guess that's fine. I'm definitely ready to have this baby. Being on bed rest because of pre term labor makes you feel like you've been preg forever!
  • Weeks: 37 weeks

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):  2 NST and ultrasounds and an OB appointment this week, but I still won't see my usual OB until next week. Still trying to get some clarity on the numbers from my growth scan.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  Trying to wrap my head around the reality that we are basically 2 weeks or less away from Baby! (Likely induction 39 weeks if I decline a scheduled C-section). Trying to come to terms with my Macrosomia diagnosis and remind myself that my GD numbers were well controlled, I have done all I can, and sometimes you just make big babies. When working on the nursery it helped to remember the important bit is getting baby earth side healthy and safe.  On the plus side at lwast my strep B came back negative.

    Questions?
Anyone else just bone tired? I wake up s lot to pee at night, but I am sleeping. Nonetheless, I fall asleep on the couch in the early evening.

.GTKY: We're getting so close!  What do you have left on your to-do list?
  • @liljabee I'm so tired! Not sleeping well at night due to being uncomfortable and having a hard time staying awake during the day. It's making work torture to get through because I have such a hard time staying awake.
  • Weeks:
    35w5d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
OB appt. on Thursday---anxious to get my strep b test results back. At the last appointment she checked my cervix and she was surprised to find it so low and not super firm (dilated to about a 1). I forgot to tell her about my D&C. He's felt really low this whole pregnancy but I am thinking perhaps the surgery could explain my cervical softness/ dilation compared to other FTMs?

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I can't believe it's almost time! I had my first dream that seemed really real/upsetting about the baby not doing well (the drop the baby type dream). Hoping that it doesn't become more frequent these last weeks.

GTKY: We're getting so close!  What do you have left on your to-do list?
So much to do still. Still a ton of training and prep at work. Deep clean the house/or hire a house cleaner to come out. Finish hospital bags, and nursing baskets for the rooms, pack the diaper bag. Pick a pediatrician (had our first meet and greet today). Hopefully secure childcare finally. Car seat clinic at the end of July. Etc!

  • @liljabee I'm exhausted, too! I can't sleep well at night but when it's time go to bed, I can't get to sleep. Even after getting some sleep, I'm exhausted again.
  • So I had my cardiologist appointment today. He said the fact that my palpitations have increased during the third trimester is normal but he wants a follow up in three months to make sure they've calmed down post pregnancy. As far as the chest pain and pressure I've been feeling, he said that's probably normal pregnancy stuff, but he wants to do an echo tomorrow morning to make sure since pregnancy can create the very rare complication of the heart muscles weakening. Heart problems run in my family and the palpitations that started last year have had me worried, especially after getting pregnant, so it'll be nice to get this done and have the peace of mind that my heart is OK and all is normal.
  • @journoGrl23 Good luck with your echo and that is positive news about the palpitations.
  • @JournoGrl23 Good luck! Hopefully you get great news and it eases your fears.
  • Good luck @JournoGrl23!
