Kidney stones

I'm just wondering if there is anyone else going through what I am. I went to the hospital last Thursday  in a tremendous amount of pain. They told me I had 3 really big stones that I wouldn't be able to pass on my own. They ended up admitting me and had to do surgery to place a Stent. It's been a week sense the surgery  and I'm still hurting really bad. I also have Hypercalcemia  and that could add to the problem.

I do not have kidney stones now, at least i am not aware yet. But i have passed stones before and i know how painful it is. It was never as serious as yours though. I just wanted to say that i am so sorry how you are feeling and what you have been through !! Hope you feel better soon. I always have terrible UTI and bladder infection fter the stones , just be aware.

  • I am they have me on antibiotics  now but I keep forming the stones and of course I'm scared because I don't want the stress on the baby. I've passed 3 and waiting on another one to pass sense being pregnant.

Oghh i am sorry , this sounds super painful ! Take care of yourself and try not to stress about baby ( I know it is easy to say) but you have to do everything to keep yourself healthy. That s the best you can do for baby. Hope you feel better soon and the problem is resolved on its own very very soon.
PS: my doctors told me I am more susceptible to form kidney stones while I am pregnant, since I have passed few times before. They wanted me to see my nephrologist I just hope and pray that it does not happen.
  • I am so sorry!! Did they want you to modify your diet at all as a preventative measure?
only silver lining here is that it doesn't harm baby. Hope you are feeling better fast.
  • Ya they told me to and I'm still learning on what to and what not to eat. Ya they told me that the baby will be fine. But this pain is so unimaginable
  • I'm sorry! Than sounds painful. Fingers crossed that you feel better soon!
  • I am so sorry! I had a kidney stone a few years ago and it didn't pass for 3 months, until finally they did the surgery to break it apart. I think the recovery was almost as bad as the stone was, and the worst of itlasted about 4-5 days I think. Hopefully you'll be feeling better soon and don't continue to get any more! My doctor recommended lemonade. He said there wasn't exactly strong proof that it helped but that the acid from the lemons should help break them down. It was a while ago so maybe there's more helpful info out by now. Good luck!!
