I'm 25 plus 4 and was diagnosed with bronchitis today. Ive never had in my life. This coughing sucks! Doc have me a prescription for amoxicillin. Anyone else ever have or would like to share home remedies to make recovery easier? Thanks!
I don't have bronchitis, but I do have cough-variant asthma. I've coughed so much I had burst a few blood vessels in my eye last week. I use cough drops when my coughing gets too bad, but there isn't a lot for us to take to cover/mask/reduce the coughing. I found that peppermint oil on my pillow (underneath) helps ease the coughing as I go to bed. Make sure to get lots of water in! Sorry you are coughing a lot, too.
Not bronchitis but awful colds earlier on that a bunch of us had been posting about around the same time....a spoonful of apple cider vinegar in green tea with fresh cut pieces of ginger, lemon juice, and honey usually helps my coughs. And a humidifier, maybe Vicks vaporizer. Check with your doctor about cough drops, guiafenesin etc
When I get a cold I always have a really long period afterward of coughing. I don't know how to help, but I can commiserate. I need to try @Piperella's peppermint oil suggestion! I have a vaporizer I use every night and I've put Vicks liquid in it before. Unfortunately, the last time I did that was during a bad bout of morning sickness and I developed an aversion.
I did at the beginning of my pregnancy between that and my regular Asthma I was a hot coughing mess. Thank god it had not come back since around 14 weeks.
I had pneumonia back in early June. I had been coughing for months and my crazy quack of a pcp said it was allergies. I spent a month on a Z-pak, mucenix (still taking), inhaler (still using), and cough medicine. I still cough but it is becoming less and less. Drink plenty of fluids and rest.
Ugh I've had it way too many times to count... Definitely stay hydrated and relax for a bit. It can linger a bit but if it does, ask the dr if you need another round of meds. And sleep as much as you can and on a bit of an incline to help if you get post nasal drip.
