Sorry if this is speshul snowflake, but I'm getting concerned and don't know where to turn (Doctor didn't have any suggestions and marked it off as gas or RLP, which I explain in more detail later).
I have this excruciating pain that comes and goes in my left lower abdomen. The first episode was in May and I've had maybe 5 episodes of it since then, but they are becoming more frequent with one occuracne every week for past three weeks. When it happens, I am doubled over in pain, can't straighten up or walk and become nauseous and have even thrown up from the pain. It has lasted anywhere from 2 to 24 hours, but then remains tender for a couple of days after, particularly in a small quarter sized spot in my lower left ab. I can't identify anything that brings it on, other than maybe the baby's position. I can tell that resting on my right side and showers makes it a tad better.
Pooing during this stuff is almost unbearable, but once I fight through the pain to go, it does feel better. (But I'm not really constipated, because still going everyday with no issues other than when this happens.)
i talked to my doctor about it and she said there isn't anything serious it could possibly be. Not appendicitis because it is on the left. Not a cyst because my ultrasound didn't show one. Not a kidney stone because the pain goes away after a few hours. Not anything wrong with baby. So she figured it must be gas or RLP. I've tried Doctor Google and also came to that same conclusion, but it concerns me that it is ALWAYS in the same spot and seems to be getting worse.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Would you try to find another doc to get another opinion? Can round ligament pain or gas really be THIS painful?
Re: Pain On left side
Also, this question would fit in well on the symptoms thread. It's checked often by many so I think you'd still get some responses
die. My doctors wrote it off as the same thing yours did.
After I had DD, I went to the doctor and asked to get my gallbladder checked. After testing, they told me my gallbladder wasn't properly functioning and I would have it have it removed.
Instead, I stayed away from fattier foods and caffeine (those are big triggers), and did some detoxing and I fixed the problem on my own.
Also, when I felt an attack coming on, I would drink a mixture of 1/4 of apple cider vinegar (with the mother) and apple juice. It would take care of it.

I have zero gallbladder experience or info to offer, but I do know that gas really can be a killer. Hopefully that's what seems to getting you, good luck!
BUT I do know from helping my (developmentally disabled) sister last year that it seems as if diagnosing blocked gall ducts is a hard thing. It took multiple attacks, multiple ER visits. They told me her blood work was perfect. They were about to release her again, when Dr Google helped me suggest a different type of scan (HIDA scan) which finally gave us an answer, a really badly blocked gallbladder!
Best of luck. And good for you, for not taking "nothing is wrong" as your answer!!!
