Hot to touch

1 week old feels hot to touch but normal rectal temp. Only wearing diaper all day, usually has light blanket draped bc he feels more secure. He has been gassy today but since temp is normal I'm assuming all is ok. Paranoid FTM here.
Edited to say while he was nursing just now, the "up" side seemed to cool down.
Also, I usually put him in footed PJs and a swaddle me (arms out). We are trying out the rock and play tonight since it has the incline. Our room is the coolest in the house so I think it will still be ok.

I noticed my LO is warmer then my boys are and she's a month old and has always felt warmer to me. At first I thought she had a temp but never did I think by having lots of skin to skin I could now tell if she actually had a fever versus her naturally feeling warmer to me. I remember when I was a FTM I called the nurse line at lot and now I go in so rarely that my pediatrician didn't know I was pregnant with my LO until I was 8 months!

My son always feels warm to the touch, especially his head. So naturally I freaked out since I'm a FTM because I thought he had a fever, and we took his temp rectally and it was fine.

Ditto. I worry about her temp a lot but she is never actually running one and is actually slightly low on temp. I've noticed it's when she is eating that she feels warm to me and then she cools down when she is done.

I feel your pain, she is hot to touch but rectal temp says 98.5 so I am trying not to freak myself out... God being a FTM is nerve wracking!

I have been taking my LO's temp almost everyday because of his congestion... He has been normal, but quite the little hot rock!! Had no Vaseline in the house so KY is getting used... Kind of a little depressing
