  • Yes!! @dragonfaerie not just switching the pronoun but knowing we were having a girl. By saying he you convince yourself subconsciously I think you're having a boy. And then bam! You're having a girl. Lol
  • @Drove2u When did you find out you were having a girl? I think my friend said that her baby was sitting just right at 13 weeks that they could tell, but I've always heard that the 20 week u/s is when most people find out. I'm crossing my fingers that our next scan which will be at 16 weeks we will find out.

  • @dragonfaerie we found out at 11 weeks through a blood test. It's called QNatal and tests for Down syndrome and other chromosomal issues plus the sex of the baby. My other friend had a similar test with a different name and also found out the sex through a blood test.
  • Hi everyone!

I was MIA for a few weeks as we took a (much needed!) summer vacation.

@LynnNJ - how are things with you? Scary for another bleeding episode, but hope everything is ok!

For everyone that had MS/nausea - when did it start to get better? I had it pretty bad weeks 8-9.5 and now its pretty light (I'm at 10.5).  I'm surprised that it has subsided already as I was thinking it would go through 12 weeks.   I have my next ultrasound on Tuesday where I'll be 10w6d.

    Hope everyone is doing well!

@knottie1432834683 I have light bleeding or spotting every other day. It's been a little heavier now for the 3rd time. The baby's ok and I feel ok, but I can't wait until the 12 week ultrasound to get a better look at the baby.
  • @Drove2u That's right, I remember that scan/test now. We opted out of any extra testing since we did PGS on our embabies. Our nurse at the OB was super supportive about it and seemed very knowledgeable about what IVF patients go through, so it was nice to not have to explain a ton of things.

@LynnNJ I'm sorry to hear you still are having spotting. When is your next u/s?

  • @knottie1432834683 - I didn't really have nausea that terribly but after 12 weeks, I definitely started to notice I had more energy and pretty much any nausea was gone.  I did have a wierd few days after I went off the POI and estrace where I was sick a few times. I think my body was adjusting to not being on any meds.

  • @Griffin5413 *braces self for vomiting* Lol. The only times I've thrown up have been after brushing my teeth, so I'll be interested to see what happens as I adjust to flying solo. I'm wondering too if I will lose the little bump I do have now, or if it will stick around. If I don't lose it this week, I'll probably end up telling my boss sooner than I planned because unless I change out my wardrobe completely, I'm not going to be able to hide the bump.

  • @vssbrm That's what I've heard from most people, so I'll be interested to see. :) I did take a bump picture on Friday for my 11 weeks so I can see what happens between then and 12+. Part of me wants to just go ahead and tell my boss cuz I'm tired of keeping it a secret, but since I'm planning on quitting by the end of the year, I don't want to have that conversation until I have to.

  • @dragonfaerie If you did PGS then they should know the sex of the embryo that you transferred, right? That would be the quickest way, I would think to find out the sex. Have you asked for the PGS report?

  • @susykatt77 My RE doesn't have the report because they didn't want us to choose gender before the transfer, so it would be a bit more fuss to get ahold of it. There was so much that we got to choose with this whole process, we wanted to wait for the usual way. :)

@dragonfaerie My next ultrasound is on Monday. However, I've had 2 quick extra ultrasounds in the last couple of weeks just to check on things.

I hope everyone's nausea goes away soon. I am happy mine was very mild. I've had some days where I felt kind of yucky, but it wasn't too bad.

vssbrm I noticed my bloat gets bigger later in the day as well. In the morning I feel a lot smaller and look pretty normal size. At night, I actually look pregnant.

I pair of jeans that I was able to wear last week was tight on me this morning. (I have only been able to wear certain pants since the bloating started.) I bought 2 of those belly bands and wore the jeans with one. That was more comfortable. So I'm wondering if it's actually the beginning of a real bump or a combination. I can't tell. When I tried on maternity tops last week, they accentuated the belly and made me look like I really have a bump. I'm not ready to wear stuff like that yet. In the meantime. I'm wearing tops that are not too clingy. They may make me look like I've gained a little weight, but not too bad.

I actually know what we're having, but I will announce that at a later time once it is confirmed.
  • Good Morning - hope everyone is doing well. We found out we are having a boy through the blood test to test for abnormalities, etc. All came back good a couple of weeks ago. Today she is 14 weeks! We have our next ultrasound on Saturday. Why am I still so nervous? She is into the 2nd trimester, all blood test came back great, she hasn't had any negative symptoms that would make you believe something is wrong......but the anxiety builds as we get closer to Saturday. Anyone else feel that same?
  • @LynnNJ I'm glad that your doc is keeping a close eye on you and baby!

I definitely have noticed jeans are more uncomfortable. Even though I don't have a true bump yet, I may have to invest in some belly bands just I don't get squished!

@jpangia Glad to hear you had good test results!

@dragonfaerie @Griffin5413 I  was not impressed with Kohl's selection for maternity clothes either. I did like a couple of non-maternity dresses that wrapped around and tied by the waist since they were made out of a light and stretchy material. It looked like I had a belly when I tried them on, so I didn't think I should get them. However they looked like they'll be flattering once I'm showing more.

I said this on another thread, but we got the results of the harmony blood test and tested negative for everything. Since I'm posting anonymously on here, I guess I can also say that the test confirmed that we are having a boy. Our parents knew this already. The only other person we will share this with is my brother since he didn't know. We gave our parents the ok to tell close family members the news of the pregnancy and we are going to tell a few friends we've been avoiding. We'll tell more people and extended family once I get to the 2nd trimester.

@kjplaza So sorry to hear about this.
  • @kjplaza So Sorry....  :(
  • @LynnNJ I got a couple of those stretchy dresses from Kohl's a month or so ago. They were too cute to pass up, but they definitely can accent the belly. Lol. I purposely bought them because I knew they'd still fit when I got bigger.

  • @Griffin5413 Today is the second day that I haven't had any extra meds. I'm not feeling sick, but I've started cramping a little, kind of like period cramps. What all did you experience when you went off your meds?
