18 months apart...

I jusy got a bfp. I imagine I'm about 4 weeks based on lmp. DD 1 just turned 9 months o n July 1st. (He wad 10 days late haha). I'm terrified.  Thrilled but terrified.  We weren't actively ttc, just enjoying each other with the understanding that if it happened, it happened. Any words of wisdom ladies?

Re: 18 months apart...

  • Congrats! My first two are 15 months apart. That's the earliest spacing, but my last 3 were 3 and under for awhile. You'll do fine. Just plan ahead when going out ;)

  • My oldest and my niece are 18 months apart. It's cute. Close spacing is difficult when they're little, but will be such a blessing later on. Definitely plan way ahead for going out, and see about getting them on a similar nap schedule (it really helps!).

  • I'm 21 weeks Prego with #2...my daughter will be 10 months on the 17th. My kids will be 14 months apart! I was nervous at first but now just super excited!
  • I'm in the same boat! Just found out today I'm pregnant, test says 2-3 weeks. I'm excited and scared at the same time. Forget what it's like
  • My oldest son is 18 months older than his twin brothers. It's not bad logistically speaking, I think in a lot of ways it was easier having them close together when they were little, they were pretty much on the same schedules from early on. I think having three 18 months and younger was infinitely easier than having three tweens

  • I have two boys, 16 months apart.  It's not too bad.  My husband helps a lot, so we each take one for bedtime routine, one for meals, etc.  They are on the same schedule, so they do everything at the same time, which is great for afternoon nap time.  I usually get a 2 hour break.  Going out is a lot of work, but now that the baby is 9 months it's getting so much easier.  I'm nursing him, which adds a bit more planning, since I'm the only one that feeds him milk.  The interaction between them melts my heart.  They love each other so much!  Makes me want another, but not so close this time ;)

This means you are really 4-5 weeks just in case you didn't realize :)

Currently pregnant with number 3.  My first two are 2 years apart (their birthdays are within 10 days so very close).  DS2 and this baby will be about 15 months apart.  It is a little overwhelming but we just figure before we know it we will be on to the next stage of life.  Right now its up all night, diapers and babies but in 2 years we will be doing T ball and disney vacations.
  • My sister and I are 12 month apart! My mom said it rough for a few trying to adjust but says it's super easy as time goes on! Congrats!
  • I just realized my post cut off. When they were younger it was nice to have them close together because they could all enjoy the same type of movies, the same area at the amusement park/museum etc. and we got the diaper stage over with within a few years. As they got older it got more difficult. Quite possibly because there are three of them and they are all boys. Because they are close in age there isn't the typical big-little brother relationship but instead a lot of competition and jealousy. It doesn't help that they have all been the same size since 2/3 yo and that they are always mistaken for triplets. They have very different personalities and fight constantly (not the twins, but they each fight with their older brother). BTW they are 12, 11 and 11 now. They did get along much better when they were younger. If I could have kept them as babies/toddlers for forever I would have!
