Fit mom's check in 7.7.16

I haven't seen one of these in a while so I thought I'd revive it!

How have you workouts been going? What have you been doing lately?

Noticing any changes/modifications?

GTKY: what is your diet normally like? Do you eat healthy, Paleo, vegetarian, etc.

  • How have you workouts been going? What have you been doing lately?

I'm dragging myself to the gym and going through the motions lol. I'm so tired and hot, working out is rough! I have been pretty consistent but the effort just isn't there anymore. Mostly weights and some cardio.

Noticing any changes/modifications? I start to feel pressure after walking too long, so I'm doing short walks. Lifting has still felt pretty good though.

GTKY: I normally try to eat healthy with lots of fiber and protein. I haven't been the best at this since being pregnant though!

  • Workouts have been okay. Trying to listen to my body. 30 mins of five minutes at a 10 minute pace then five minutes steady walking. Planks, push-ups, squats to follow.

I always feel a little tired the day after a work-out. Can't do cardio two days in a row. Tried my best to be consistent this trimester but I got knocked down with a delightful summer cold.

Eat healthy generally - pregnant and not pregnant. Seems to work for me although I've indulged in some ice cream during the last three months.
  • Ehh I haven't been making it to the gym as much as I should.  Try to go at least 3 days a week.  Weightlifting still feels pretty good but running and even rowing is a diff story. I haven't really modified any weightlifting except the % of weight to around 75% of one rep but have modified a lot of other things like push-ups, sit-ups, handstands and anything on back or belly.  My ankles bother me a lot when running.  It's just like a real tired soreness and super annoying when I have to stop middle of the workout to rest them.  My husband and I own a CrossFit gym and he programmed Karen and Annie today.  150 wall balls, rest 3 mins, then . 50-40-30-20-10 double unders and sit ups.  The wallballs felt good but scaled the weight back to 10lbs.  Double unders are still doable for me at 34 weeks and situps I scaled to hanging knee raises but I ripped my hand halfway through so just quit.  It wasn't a good day so I'm soaking in Epsom salt right now.

My my eating has been awful this entire pregnancy.  I've put on way more weight than I wanted to and I can't stop eating cookies lol.  I ate paleo mostly before getting pregnant and was in the best shape of my life.  My endurance is still pretty good but getting harder with the heat and the crowded lungs.  Kind of ready to get back to normal training and do normal workouts again.  Have a schedule already planned for after baby as well.  Hoping to get back to it pretty quick.

Shout out to all the mammas out there still going no matter how hard it gets!  I know we're all doing the right thing for our own bodies and setting a great example for our babies.

everything was going well for me until Monday, then I had some spotting and was put on bed rest for two days until my appt this morning. Now I'm back to work...on short shifts. Plan on trying to do some lifting tomorrow evening after work and skip the cardio.

Id been consistently doing cardio and weights 5-6 days per week.  Currently 36wks3days.

more reps less weight this month for sure!

  • How have you workouts been going? What have you been doing lately? My workouts have been pretty good. I'm still aiming for 5 days a week of something and then light activity on rest days. I cancelled my classpass membership last month, so am trying to find some good alternatives for missing out on strength workouts through that. This week I've run a few 5ks and done some workouts from 21 day fix extreme.

Noticing any changes/modifications? My feet are achy for the first mile or so of my runs. I try to run though it and it eventually gets better. I haven't modified much other than knocking my free weights down from 15 to 10 pounds whenever I do 21 day fix stuff. And my doctor did tell me to limit my ab work now and stick to planking.

GTKY: what is your diet normally like? Do you eat healthy, Paleo, vegetarian, etc. I try to eat healthy 75% of the time. No limitations on what I can eat though, carbs are my friend. :) I haven't had a lot of cravings for really anything sweet so that is good. Typically my sweet tooth is crazy.
