3D Ultrasound / Later Preg. Ultrasound Photos

I know we have an ultrasound thread below, but I thought it would be fun to have one for any of the "fun" 3D ultrasounds or repeat ultrasounds later in pregnancy. Babies always look so different at 30ish weeks than they do at 12 or even 20.

Went back for a repeat this morning. I'm measuring a bit ahead. The tech said baby has a fat little belly and a good bit of hair! I wasn't expecting a 3D as it wasn't for fun, but the tech said she likes to try it out on pregnancies that are further along. So that was a fun surprise!

I had a growth scan today but the little stinker is always facing my back snuggled up to the placenta so they can barely get any good 2D pics and they won't attempt a 3D pic unless he's in a good position. I'm thinking of doing an elective 3D scan soon but haven't decided.

Love the pic! Ours is scheduled for this Saturday, and I can't wait to see his little face. We've done it each time for our 3 other kids, and I love having them to look back on.

For those of you getting growth scans, are these routine ultrasounds or for monitoring purposes? My last ultrasound was at 20 weeks, and my doctor informed that I would only be getting one in the third trimester at 36 weeks. That just seems like a really long time to go without seeing the baby and making sure everything is normal. I'd like to know if only one ultrasound during your 3rd Tri is a common thing.

@BabyBoyH92016 for me, my ultrasounds are done outside of my OB and the last ultrasound I had was several weeks ago (at 20 weeks I think?). They said they wouldn't see me again unless my OB requests another ultrasound. So I may not even get another one in the 3rd trimester. I think it depends if you need to be monitored closer to your due date.

My practice it's routine to only have two ultrasounds: A dating ultrasound at 8(ish) weeks and an anatomy scan at 20 weeks. This one was because they couldn't get a clear picture of the aortic arch, spine and cord the first time around.

As far as making sure everything is "normal" they get what they need at the anatomy scan. Past that, measuring your weight, uterus height and all the other stuff they do during routine check-ups is all they need to do to monitor baby.

@BabyBoyH92016 most doctors do either only an anatomy scan around 20ish weeks, or they do a dating scan around 8ish weeks and then the anatomy. It all depends on your doctor but totally not unusual to go that long without one. They keep baby monitored by your monthly visits (heartbeat, asking you about movement, and then your overall health like BP and urine). They don't need to look in there unless there's something unusual going on in a typical pregnancy. My Dr does a dating scan, anatomy and then one near due date to check size/position.

29 weeks but she measured 32 weeks and a pound big at 3lbs11oz. She is following in her big brothers footsteps in the chunk department and she looks just like him so far! I'm in love!!

I have a growth u/s in a week and 4d two weeks after that.

For me the growth us is because my last two boys had IUGR and olighydrominos. So they want to make sure baby girl is on track. And my ob offers everyone a free 4d scan at 32 weeks. But I also get to see the baby at every appointment. My ob uses an us to check the hb instead of a Doppler.

I just scheduled a 3D/4D/HD ultrasound at an elective place for 7/2. My mom paid for it as a shower gift and I can't wait! I'll be 30w5d. Hopefully he's not too squished in there for good pictures. He was measuring 31 weeks at 29 weeks and was 3lbs. 6oz. I'm hoping we can get some good pictures!

We actually just went for an elective 3D ultrasound last night. When I got home I did a comparison between Morgan and her brother. I'm convinced that my husband makes clones because the two of them are his spitting image! I just incubate.

This little stinker didn't want to cooperate today. Appointment was scheduled for this morning but he was facing toward my spine so we had to go back this afternoon. Even then he was difficult. I love this little guy so much!

This is our baby girl at 25 weeks. Ill be 30 weeks on Wednesday so its a little old. My DH took me for a 3D ultrasound for my birthday. Sorry if its big. Her hands were always in front of her face so this was the best picture we could get.

i was 28+5 when these were done. she didnt want to move her hands. they offered me a free session to come back july 5th, hoping to get some full face photos. however, just seeing these was great.

I had my 3D scan but Baby Reed wouldn't cooperate. At the end he gave us a few shots but they offered to let me come back since their HD live was down anyway so I rescheduled for Thursday. They sent me with this token, however. The only thing I can tell for sure is that he has DH's shape of face.

This was Saturday at 30w5d. He is so cute! His cord was in his face the whole time but the tech was able to work around it for the most part. I'm thinking he looks more like his sister and DH than DS and me. It's so hard to tell! Can't wait to see him and hold him in 8 weeks or less!

Not 3D, but we had a growth scan today so we got this cute pic of him sucking his thumb! His feet and hands were up by his head. He is head down, facing up, so that explains all the movement around my belly button because his legs have lots of space to move. He was measuring 30+3 and I'm 30+1, so that's good. He is 3 lbs 6 oz

My beautiful baby girl! She's just like her brother-keeping her feet in front of her face! Last week we went for the initial 3D u/s (elective) and she refused to move her feet and hands. At least this time she let us have a glimpse of her face!

I had a growth us today. She's measuring in the 12% (10% and under is IUGR). I also have borderline low fluid. I'm now going for weekly growth ultrasounds. There thinking in the next 4-6 weeks she'll be here. But these cheeks!!
