Braxton Hicks......making you sore??

I am just over 33 weeks and have been having Braxton Hicks like crazy today to the point where my right side is sore. I have been changing positions and trying to drink extra water. They aren't painful, just making my side sore. Anyone else having this issue??

  • I'm also 33 weeks and can't seem to tell if I have had any yet, what do they feel like?

  • My abdomen tightens and stays like that for about a min or so. It has been going on every 15-20 mins for the last 2 days. They aren't painful except for one spot on my right side where it seems to tighten in the same spot every time.
  • I'm 35+3 and have had BH since about 25 weeks. But this is my second pregnancy and that's common. When I was pregnant with DS, I didn't start getting BH until around 35-ish weeks. They've never hurt; they're only uncomfortable. This go around, I'm getting them practically every time I stand up. So that's fun, especially since they push baby girl right into my bladder.

  • I'm 34w5d and I've been getting BH for a few weeks now.  With DD I started getting them way earlier, like around 25w, and they were consistent throughout the rest of my pregnancy.  They're just now starting to get more consistent with this pregnancy - like I'll get them around the same time of day, etc.  I guess my body is kinda backwards haha.  Most of the time it's just a very tight hard sensation around my whole belly, but nothing that's painful.  Of course, I usually get them while I"m driving or when I'm playing with DD - both really great times for my attention to be split.  However, with this pregnancy sometimes I'll get ones that feel like period cramps that won't let up - my OB said that's normal.  I usually get those in the mornings - it's only happened a few times, but when it does I have to get into child's pose (I'm not a yoga person) and just breathe, that seems to be the only thing that helps them stop.

Mine aren't making me sore but I've been having them since about 20 weeks and didn't know what they were (never had them with first). For me, they aren't painful but feel like a tightness where I have a harder time breathing for like a minute. Doctor confirmed that's what they were. They are coming much more frequently now at 35 weeks, and the other day they actually felt like labour pains, but went away. This pregnancy is so different lol
  • @SkiChic626 I have the exact same thing every morning! It's like the first day of my period, when my back gets super crampy. They mostly happen after I've been standing for a while, like after I take a shower/do my hair and makeup.

  • How long does each one last? or the tightening during the BH?
  • any other STMs+ experiencing seriously painful BHs?  I have the normal tightening-only ones throughout the day, but twice now I've woken during the night to awfully painful contractions that last several minutes with excruciating pain radiating around my lower back.  My only contractions with DD were after pitocin, so this is totally new to me!

  • @terezakatarina Mine last anywhere from 30-90 seconds.  And I'll get them sometimes just one random one and other times I'll have them at pretty regular intervals for an hour or so.

@PeachGal23 Mine aren't seriously painful, but I definitely get ones that have pain, which I didn't have with DD.  I bet your baby is sunny side up and that's why they hurt your back....try getting baby to spin!  You might still get the contractions, but if you can get baby to spin it may not hurt your back so much.
