Bassinet Mattress altering?

Hi!

I need some advice on a very random topic. When baby comes home we will but him/her in a bassinet beside our bed. The bassinet is actually the Peg Perego Book Pop-Up https://pegperegocanada.com/baby/book-pop-up . It is certified for overnight sleeping and includes a light flimsy cotton mattress pad.

Jumping on the whole organic mattress train I recently bought the Moonlight Slumber Little Dreamer mattress for baby's crib and bassinet. The crib mattress fit's perfect but the Bassinet mattress (which is gorgeous material, nice firm and thick) is too big. Since the Peg Perego bassinet narrows at the bottom the mattress I bought curves up on the side's and at the bottom so it's not a snug fit.

Here is a link to the bassinet mattress: https://www.wayfair.ca/Little-Dreamer-Bassinet-Mattress-LDBM002-FIP1010.html

The only options I really have are:
- return it
- take it to get altered somewhere to the actual dimensions of the bassinet. (what are your thought's on this? Will it damage the integrity of the mattress pad?)

Re: Bassinet Mattress altering?

  • I would return or find a bassinet that it fits into.  It depends on which is more important to you.  Either find a bassinet to fit the fancy mattress or use the bassinet with the mattress that fits.

  • @BumpTara can we do something about above poster? They've posted on multiple threads with this same request...
