  • My daughter was a happy surprise at 38w2d. My husband had to force me to go to the hospital because I was so unconvinced I was in labor.

  • My first was born at 39w2d. I know the results in on the poll are still early, but I'm a little surprised. At my birthing class they told us FTMs go into labor at 41 weeks on average.

  • I had an emergency induction at 37 weeks for pre-e.  I've never gone into labor on my own actually!

  • DS was born at 39+2. For some reason I feel like this little lady will go right up to her due date, but we'll see...
  • Mine was born 10 days past his estimated due date. He was right on (his own) time :)

  • DS arrived 5 days before his due date via scheduled induction. DD arrived 2 days late via scheduled induction.
  • I had my daughter at 40w3d. My doctor actually had scheduled me for induction the following week, and then I went into labor on my own just a few hours later!

  • Same with @PSUBecky23.  When DD came at 38w6d, I was in serious denial that I was actually in labor.  DH convinced me to call my OB and the entire way to the hospital, I was sure it was a false alarm and that I'd be sent back home!  I partially blame this on statistics I'd heard about first babies "always coming late" like @camichael84 said.  I was convinced my first child wouldn't be born until after her due date...it didn't sink in otherwise until I was "officially" getting admitted to the hospital...and she was born less than 5 hours later!

My first was born at 38w5d. It was an early induction because she wasn't moving and when they hooked me up to monitors they saw her heart rate keep dropping.

My second was born exactly on her due date.

    Great poll, @BabyBoyH92016!

I read somewhere that the average gestational period for a FTM is actually 42 weeks, and almost every FTM I know was late, so I keep telling myself I have 11 weeks to go so I don't get too antsy.

I had due dates from June 6th-10th and DS was born on the 9th. I always considered the 10th as my due date to avoid getting anxious. Also with this pregnancy I've been told between the 6th and the 9th so once again I'm going with the later date.
  • DS1 came at 40w2d. Like @runningisrad, I had gone to an appointment and was scheduled for an induction for the following week. I was also told to my dismay that my cervix was "closed up so tight that nothing is coming out of there for a while". In the middle of the night that very night, my water broke!

  • @elcab I am getting antsy, and I need to give myself a reality check!

    41 weeks on the dot
  • DD was 2ish weeks early and now I'm almost planning for this girl to be early. I'm afraid I'm going to be really upset if she's "late".
  • DS came 5.3 weeks early.  It took 3 hours for me to realize I was having contractions as I thought I was having food poisoning.  I didn't pack a bag because I thought I was going to get rehydrated/meds to stop contractions if they were happening since it was too early.  Halfway on the drive to the hospital I realized it was pretty serious considering my contractions were only about 2 minutes apart and pretty intense.  When I went to triage and they had me change into a gown, I threw up and saw my waters on the floor.  I knew then this was happening.  I didn't see it as a possibility because I was HOPING to go a week late so I could finish out the school year as the last day was a week after my due date.  Several of my close friends have had their firsts before their due dates as well (not as early as mine).  It's weird because I always hear firsts go late, too!

The older you are the more likely an early birth as well.
  • Both my chickies were born at 39 weeks, both the Tuesday's before Easter :)

  • My water broke on my due date, but he wasn't born until the next day.
  • My LO came at 36w5d...like pp i was in complete denial that i was even in labor because my doctor assured me that i would be late (since it was my first)....even though my mom and her mom's pregnancies were all about 1 month early...i'm mentally preparing for a mid August delivery because i was NOT prepared at all for my first (no hospital bag packed...car seat was not installed...all that was done was the nursery)

  • I went into labor 39w4d with DS1 but he wasn't born until the next morning and I has DS2 via scheduled C-section at 39w1d.  Planning on having this one around 39w on the dot since she will also be a scheduled C-section.

  • I answered for DD1 since I assumed you wanted to collect stats for FTMs. She was surgically removed at 41w4d. DD2 came at 40w3d. Can't wait to see when this LO comes!

  • DS1 was 10 days early due to induction for low fluid.  DS2 was also 10 days early, coming before his scheduled csection date.  I'm expecting this one to be early as well.  It would be weird/funny if it were 10 days early again.
  • My daughter came exactly on her due date.  I started having contractions at 4 am and was convinced it wasn't real labor because babies never come on their due date.  LOL!

She is still very punctual and timely.

  • Piper was 40w5d.  Connor was 40w6d.
I'm already bracing myself to go over this time around too.  Based on my math from when I O'd, I think my EDD should be more like the 30th instead of the 22nd.

    Piper, 4/10/10
    Connor, 3/16/15
    Morgan, EDD 9/22/16

  • I was induced at 38+3...I was scheduled for induction at 38+5 due to gestational hypertension...but he wasn't performing well during my weekly NST and they were sending me to L&D for monitoring and I asked if we could just go ahead and get the show on the road...I'd already been to L&D twice before!

  • I went into labor at 39w6d and dd was born the morning of 40w.
  • I went into labor on my sons due date and had him the morning after. So basically I feel like he was on time but it's still considered late!
