For those who have weaned already (or second-time moms who have weaned in the past), did you lose or gain weight after weaning?

Re: Did You Lose or Gain Weight After Weaning?

  • I haven't weaned this time yet, but in the last with 2 of the 4 I nursed, I lost weight. I always held onto some pounds until I weaned. The other 2 I was pregnant when we weaned so I didn't lose weight.

  • I put gained weight, because I did gain after DD1 was a year old and dropped to nursing 4 times/24h. I was already pregnant when DD1 completely weaned. My metabolism is insane when I BF. My comfortable, easy to maintain weight is 125, size 4-6. I'm 111 and size 2 right now. I eat a ton, mostly healthy, but with whole fat dairy, lots of butter, and recently at least 2 servings of ice cream daily. LO eats lots of solids, but still nurses 6+ times/24h. I figure as she drops feedings I'll gain back some weight, clean up my eating habits, then stabilize.

^^^Ummm JEALOUS!!! You sound smokin hot after baby!

Following this thread. Haven't weaved yet but feel like I'm holding on to some lbs as I was a chronic dieter pre-baby. Plan to jumpstart some weight loss with a round of advocare 24 day challenge to drop some lbs and get into fighting shape before we start on number two.

Ditto! I definitely feel like I'm holding on to some lbs while breastfeeding and hope it comes off once I wean at a year! I feel like I'm more active than I ever was chasing after our little guy and am not eating excessively, but the scale isn't budging and I've actually gained back a few lbs in the last few months. Still up 20 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight (I had gained 55 lbs) and want to lose 40 to get back to my wedding weight (which was only 3 years ago!).
