  • How many weeks: 26w4d today!

How are your feeling? Physically/mentally? Physically: sleep is hard yo.  Mentally: So much better! PGAL brain is so much better now that primary viability has been reached.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): High Viability 27w and the vacation we're taking to Colorado!

Rant/Rave/Questions?  Why the restless sleep?  How cruel of Mother nature.

GTKY: What did you do this holiday weekend!? Worked.  Made a berry trifle.  No biggie.

    How are you feeling? Physically/Mentally?
Physically, not too shabby. Time to look into some support belts though. Mentally, I'm not 100%. It varies dramatically from day to day, I'm sure most of you can relate.

What's next? (Milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
Hitting the 30 week mark and getting my Glucose Test out of the way next monday.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?
    I got nothin'.

GTKY: What did you do this holiday weekend!?
The absolute highlights of my weekend were convincing FI to take the kids to the splash pad with me Sunday, we ended up being the only people there for nearly an hour and had a blast since we got to run around like little kids too! Then last night I popped a few fireworks with DS so he wouldn't be completely heartbroken by his dad going to bed at 8pm and not getting back up to light them with him, even though I tried getting him up twice.

How are your feeling? Physically/mentally? Physically my feet are bothering me, They get sore and start to swell quickly these days.  Mentally I was doing good until the car accident on Friday. I know he is fine and all is well, but now I'm worried about something bad happening while I'm driving or just life in general. The anxiety has definitely set back in.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): I have an appt this Friday, so I always look forward to checking in on him!

Rant/Rave/Questions? Nothing really, just keep moving through these weeks.

GTKY: What did you do this holiday weekend!? Besides the excitement to start our weekend with the minor accident Friday, we stayed low key. We did an early morning beach trip on Sunday and had brunch to beat the crowds. Then on the actual 4th we grilled at home and did some fireworks.

    3rd Trimester!

    Rant/Rave/Questions?
I want to throttle my MIL over my shower

GTKY: What did you do this holiday weekend!?

    Relaxed with my family.

  • How many weeks: 25 + 5/7

How are your feeling? Physically/mentally? I can't sleep without elevating my head because it makes me feel like I have a burp stuck. Sleeping on my left side makes my left leg numb and sleeping on my right side makes my right arm numb. Sleeping on my back puts pressure on my lower back. I need to elevate my left leg because it keeps swelling up, but that's very difficult to do when I'm also elevating my head and also depending on what side I'm laying on.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Next appt/GD test on the 19th; 3rd trimester coming up!

Rant/Rave/Questions? I won't retell my ultimately uneventful ER story a third time, so I'll bitch about movement. This baby is SUPER erratic. She'll move so much throughout one day, then only once or twice the next. I'm not freaking out as much but I'm worried about this kick count thing. I have read it suggested to start in 3rd trimester, and I'm not quite there yet, but for those of you who know - is it supposed to be ten movements in *every* two hours, or just ten movements within two hours of usually-active time? Like the baby could be still all day but kick ten times after supper, or something?

GTKY: What did you do this holiday weekend!? Sat saw the in-laws and revealed the sex, Sun goofed off, Mon spent most of the day in the ER

How are your feeling? Physically/mentally? Physically, I've been feeling great!! I finally have my energy back, and it's about time. Mentally, I still have PGAL moments, but thankfully they are becoming less and less. It's starting to hit me that I am really about to be a Mom!!

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Viability!! Also looking forward to our appointment next week for the second anatomy scan.

Rant/Rave/Questions? Copying from my weekly ticker change. Rant: Even though I have my energy back, this past week has been the start of some new annoying symptoms. My ankles have started swelling pretty badly at work. I have a desk job, and even though I am elevating them a bit at work, it's not enough to help. I started taking some walks during the day, which doesn't really help either unfortunately. At least when I get home and can put them up, the swelling goes down by the morning. Also, my allergies have gotten a ton worse this week, which I'm hoping is just a side effect of pregnancy. I'm allergic to acidic fruits (tomatoes, lemons, oranges, etc.) But, before I got pregnant, as long as the fruit was cooked, which gets rid of the acid I guess, it was totally fine (think tomato sauce on pasta or pizza - totally fine pre-pregnancy). Well, I had a pizza this past week, and was throwing up and breaking out in hives within an hour. Noooooo!! I'm stubborn and heated the pizza really good the next day and tried it again, unfortunately to the exact same reaction. Now I can't have pizza anymore (well, with red sauce) which is really disappointing, and I hope is just a side effect of pregnancy...

GTKY: What did you do this holiday weekend!? It rained most of the weekend so we stayed indoors and relaxed. It was so nice!! We also continued cleaning out closets and donating stuff we no longer use. It feels so great to get rid of stuff and make more space!!

ETA: I had to retype the answers to the last few questions as somehow they didn't post...ugh. I'm bumping on mobile so maybe that's why.

How are your feeling? Physically/mentally? physically - sore and swollen. My feet are swelling terribly and it's very painful. Mentally - it's a roller coaster. I'm so thankful to have made it this far and I can't wait to meet our LO. I'm still nervous about something going wrong.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): I have my Glucose tolerance test this Thursday. My shower is on July 16 and I'm really looking forward to making it to 30 weeks.

Rant/Rave/Questions? I spent Saturday night in the hospital. Because I'm a high risk pregnancy my high risk doctor had me start kick counts at 26 weeks. My LO is super consistent with movement and follows a regular schedule. On Saturday I barely felt any movement all day and it was very out of the ordinary. When I did my kick count I couldn't get anything. I tried all the tricks and nothing worked. I knew something was wrong. I went to L&D and it turned out I was having very regular contractions - I had no idea I was having them, I felt literally nothing - and the baby was not responding well to the contractions. Baby's heartrate was not looking good and was decelerating. They gave me a shot to stop the contractions which worked, gave me FFN test, which was negative, thank goodness, and did a BPP on baby and baby passed. My biggest concern is that I didn't know I was having contractions...they weren't BH either...they were the real deal. So obviously, I'm terrified it's going to happen again and I'm paying extra close attention to baby's activity.

GTKY: What did you do this holiday weekend!? Other than spend some time in the hospital, spent a lot of time with family and worked on the nursery. It was a productive and relaxing weekend!

  • How many weeks: 23W 3D

How are your feeling? Physically/mentally? My body aches most the time, can never find a comfortable spot in bed, always tossing and turning which causes husband to be cranky with me. Mentally good most days but then there are those moments when I am like is something wrong.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Going for the 3rd AS tomorrow, glad to see the baby but hoping nothing is wrong.

    Rant/Rave/Questions? Just tired, always tired...........

GTKY: What did you do this holiday weekend!? BBQ Saturday for my brothers birthday/4th of July. Another BBQ Sunday with the family and losts of sleep until fireworks starting going off on the actual 4th.

How are your feeling? Physically/mentally? My feet, neck and back are killing me, but other than that I feel alright. A little antsy this week mentally, not sure why that has kicked up again.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): My first baby shower is planned for the 31st... things are happening!

    Rant/Rave/Questions? None

GTKY: What did you do this holiday weekend!? It was my 30th bday saturday, but we celebrated Sunday with Drag Queen Bingo and Dave and Busters. Yesterday we went to a celebration at a local park, there were a couple thousand people there so it was bonkers. Luckily we had the foresight to go early in the morning and rope off an area for our group. In between the festivities we finally got some work done around the house. Our room is moved and set up and today I'm going to get to painting the nursery finally

Pick baby's "active time".  Mine is either an hour after breakfast or the hour before dinner.  Then count how long it takes to get to 10 kicks.  I feel maybe 10 kicks all day except at active times is super noticeable and I easily get 10 in as few as 15 minutes.

  • Happy Belated Birthday @Julia70286 ! Sounds like you had a pretty fun line-up there :)
  • @kmolleltz sorry your EDD time is this week, I hope it passes with whatever balance of remembrance/closure/whatever qualities you need in it!

@UFJen I'm sorry your accident sparked up anxiety again. Fx for safe travels from here on out!

@RainMira9e FTM but I also think it's just an active time of day that you could expect to feel 10 kicks in under 2 hrs, not every/any 2 hrs...I've also heard some doctors not recommending it bc it can freak people out when the baby is unreliable so see what yours thinks!

    How many weeks: 27w2d

How are your feeling? Physically/mentally? Physically getting more uncomfortable with back/SI pain, harder to breathe and move around. Mentally pretty ok...even though I get mood swings, much less severe PGAL panic.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Fetal echo followup this week and regular u/s and MFM appt next week.

Rant/Rave/Questions? I'm getting pretty f-ing irritated with unsolicited advice and (more PGAL-related) with people telling me my bump isn't big...that's not helpful whatsoever! Rave just that I'm getting used to the kicks and movement even though it still feels weird. Semi question, I feel kinda dumb but I think I need to google or search for practical tips on how to physically do things (like shaving, changing clothes, etc) now that this bump is really in the way...I'm guessing bending at the knees to prevent back injury still applies but uh, this part seems tricky for a FTM!

GTKY: What did you do this holiday weekend!? Put together the crib and glider, had a mini BBQ just for DH and I, and went to a family BBQ yesterday!

  • Has anyone here started doing kick counts/done them in previous pregnancies? I'm only 26 weeks and a couple days, but they recommended I start doing them as soon as I pick up on baby boy's active times since I've had so many issues this pregnancy. He's been pretty consistent for the last week or so, so I did my first count today. I got 10 kicks in less then 10 minutes, but my app says it'll vary day to day. So I'm worried it'll just cause me anxiety if he's having a quiet day....  :#

How are your feeling? Physically/mentally? Feeling pretty good physically. I get tired easily and sometimes feel stuffed even if I don't eat much.

Mentally I'm doing pretty well. I had an appointment today and got a script for a growth scan at 28 weeks. Seeing "history of fetal demise" as the reason was hard.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Growth scan at 28 weeks and I need to do the GTT sometime in the next few weeks.

Rant/Rave/Questions? I'm just so happy every time baby girl kicks me!

GTKY: What did you do this holiday weekend!? Went to a few picnics and watched fireworks.

  • @krzyriver I think I'm supposed to start next week but I'd say think of it like early on with the doppler, that it's not 100% reliable bc you're just picking a time you think is active, and it's still a little early so the baby's activity patterns might be hard to figure out. The same thing happened when I tried it out for fun and got a ton of movement all at once, I felt almost like it was cheating and that I would be worried comparing that to another day that maybe I didn't just have a milkshake...but I'm going to google it a little more and ask my dr for more specific instructions as it relates to that. An example I saw online said 30 minutes compared to like, 2h15min would be a difference worth mentioning to your doctor. Is anyone else wondering how people are able to sit and focus just on kicks for 2 hours??

@UponAStar16 Well I admit that I waited until I'd felt a couple kicks to start the count so that I wouldn't just be sitting there for two hours hoping to feel something. But you're right, it's still early. He's pretty consistent, but the time he's awake does vary slightly from day to day. I was wondering the same thing, how do people have time to just lie down for two hours and wait? Lol. I'm on semi-bedrest so I have a lot of downtime during the day to do it. I'll ask my doctor next time I see her too

How are your feeling? Physically/mentally? Physically, I am just exhausted.  Mentally, I am the same.  My dad passed away unexpectedly the day after father's day and I miss him so badly.  I feel like life is so different now.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):  Looking forward to the 28 week mark!  90 percent viability and my anxiety should lessen then.

Rant/Rave/Questions?  Life is just very hard to understand at times.  Losing my dad at 35 years old is just a tragedy.

GTKY: What did you do this holiday weekend!? Nothing really.  Still trying to make sense of life.
