Re: Fitness and Healthy Eating Check-In W/O July 4

  • I'm working on eating enough, and particularly on eating enough protein. Food still doesn't sound good, but I'm getting better at eating what's in front of me anyway.

Last Friday they cleared me off pelvic rest, so I can get some actual exercise! This week we're headed up to Lassen Volcanic National Park to do some hiking. The OB isn't really pleased with it due to the altitude, so I'm going to pace myself with a pulse oximeter and see what I can do.

  • I was setting all sorts of goals for walking and going to barre class...anything that is not a carb makes me nauseous and the idea of moving makes me tired. So pretty much doing my best to just not fall asleep at work!  :)

  • 1.  Pre-pregnancy workout routine and healthy eating goals
Distance running, hot yoga, basically eating healthy but not really worrying about it too much

    2.  Current workout routine and healthy eating goals and challenges
Walking the dog a lot, working on getting in lots of protein

    3.  How did you do with last week's goals?
Pretty well.  I walked the dog every day until the weekend, which was busy with BBQs.  I think I really improved my eating overall, again, until the BBQs, where the items most appealing to me with all my food aversions were the deserts.  I'm still averse to seafood, but had beans most days in addition to my usual yogurt and eggs to beef up my protein a bit.

    4.  What are your goals for this week?
I need to keep cranking on the protein, big time!  I really feel my body needing it more.  Beans needs to be mandatory daily until I can stomach fish again (pescatarian).  I think I turned a corner on nausea and may be back to regular eating soon.  For fitness, I'd like to do prenatal yoga twice, which is a goal I failed at last week.

    5.  GTKY: Did you have a nice 4th of July, Canada Day, and/or weekend?  What did you do?
We went to two BBQs.  I was nervous that I'd feel like crap, but I actually felt ok as long as I kept food in my stomach and it was great to see lots of old friends.  We brought our dog to BBQ #1 but he wouldn't stop barking at the other dogs there, so that was annoying.  He's really chill about fireworks, though!
