I want to bitch that my body's decided it hates desserts and thinking about them or seeing them makes my stomach churn. I've signed up to make desserts for a bunch of gatherings this summer bc usually I love making it and eating it. Now I'm hoping I can keep from vomiting while making these desserts and that it's not taken too strangely by people if I don't join in eating them...

I'm mad Pinterest doesn't have a hide all food button. I want to browse all the pins but can't handle seeing pretty much any food right now without feeling pukey. Come on Pinterest, show some love to the preggos! I remember thinking the same thing last pregnancy when I had GD in the third tri...
My toddler is driving me bonkers. She is throwing tantrums over the most ridiculous things. For example, she asked for pita bread, so I gave her some. Except apparently I have her the wrong piece (she wanted the piece in my left hand and I had the audacity to give her the piece in my right hand). Cue tantrum.
Our yearly car tax bills arrived Sat, and I opened them today after a busy weekend. It's our second year in this city and I'm still adjusting to the new normal. It's my bad for not calculating what to expect ahead of time, but between the two of us our upcoming quarterly bill is over $400. What does piss me off is that it's due in only three weeks. I had my July budget all done, and this has blown it up, big time. What also makes me mad is that our cars are both worse far less than the tax valuation due to high mileage, but the city won't allow challenges for that reason. Overall the rate is about 4x what it was when we lived in MA. Arrrgh.
Just a vent, I know this is all just part of being an adult and kids will bring even more financial surprises and all that. Our city's car tax rate is famously high, and we can deal, but for many lower income families it's a true hardship. At least this year they raised the exemption a little to $2000, so hopefully that will help those who truly need it.

I read the word pie in the orginial post a couple hours ago, turned to my husband and said "doesn't apple pie sound good?!" He agreed and decided he would bake one. I now have a fresh baked apple pie cooling on my stove. But to add to the b*fest he forgot to get vanilla ice cream.
My mom texted me at like 5pm "inviting" us (read: summoning us) over to their best friends' house for an impromptu cookout. Then she called when I didn't respond to her text. At that point, it was well after 6. I am exhausted and we're watching dumb movies on the couch, so I said we'd see them all another time. And she got all testy with me! I've spoken to her SO many times about not springing plans on us. It's one thing to be like, "hey, we're doing this! Want to come?" and then just accepting that it might not work out if I'm already doing something. But I can't with the guilt trips.
The worst part is that we still haven't told our parents that I'm KU, so I can't just be all, "pregnant lady is tired!"

She must be 3.

Maybe she'll get it out of her system. My kid was a dream until three, now she's just attitude and smart ass. She's basically me with red hair.
@Gingersnap you don't have red hair?! The name, the avatar, the DD... You've just flipped my world upside down!
my complaint: DH made a lovely dinner which promptly made me nauseous. Then he got all annoyed with me when I barely ate. Do you not remember this from last time we did this, H?!

After 3 days out of school and their routine, my kids (5.5 and 3) were behaving AWFULLY today. Not listening, repeatedly doing the exact thing I just asked them not to, laughing while doing all this, and just generally testing and pushing every limit and line I set for them. I'm so exhausted.

Is it wrong that my husband is making me kind of mental? Maybe I've just been cooped up in the house with him a bit too long, but I find so much of my moodiness is directed at little things he does. I wind up snapping at him for something he does, then I feel like crap because I just yelled at my sweetie pie. It's rather frustrating because I do love him to death.
I've been successfully using the "I can't, I'm pregnant" or "Baby, do you mind (insert task here)" lines with my husband for weeks. Well, while home visiting family for vacation, my aunt overheard me asking him to walk the dog because it was too hot and turns to my husband and says, "Are you going to let her get away with that?" She then told me I was fine and to walk the dog myself. Now he's not having it anymore and keeps muttering that he never should have fallen for this in the first place! My life is ruined!

The smell of it makes me dizzyingly nauseous.
