Re: Health and Fitness Check-in ~ 7.4.16
I think I'll revisit last weeks goal - keep down the refined sugar. No fried foods. NO ICE CREAM. Try for a salad a day - or at least 5/week.
What is your fitness goal this week?
Mon-hike(check), Tues-swim, Wed-elliptical and strength, Thurs-elliptical and strength, Fri-yoga and walk, Sat-hike, Sun-off
Any challenges this week?
Nope
How did you do with your goals last week?
Okay - fitness good I think I missed a swim but replaced it with elliptical. I missed a yoga. Nutrition I was a little less awesome. But what can you do when you have so many bbqs. I kept my over-eating to protein and veggies.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday/holiday tradition?
Christmas - I am not sure about the traditions. We need to nail down our own. I used to love holiday traditions but my family has become a disappointing mess and at the moment they are making me sad.
Bonus Bumpie Challenge (borrowed from Nov. '16): Do a set of 15 squats 4 times this week. Okie dokes.
Continue to cut down on junk food and sweets and focus more on nutrients for both of us.
What is your fitness goal this week?
Hmmmm. Do anything physical at all? How's that sound?
Any challenges this week?
Life. Haha, no, not really. I'm just lazy.
How did you do with your goals last week?
Did great! Seeing as how I barely made any.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday/holiday tradition?
Halloween - decorations & costumes.
Bonus Bumpie Challenge (borrowed from Nov. '16): Do a set of 15 squats 4 times this week.
I'll do it I swear.
I've been doing well at this, so keep up the veggies and maybe increase my protein more.
What is your fitness goal this week?
To work out at least 3-4 days, even if it's just going for a walk.
Any challenges this week?
It's always a challenge to work out with a toddler and a full time job. Those are my typical challenges. Half of the time I just want to count toddler-wrangling as a workout...
I'm starting a job in a week where I'll have access to a gym at work, so I'm hoping to up my cardio and weights soon!
How did you do with your goals last week?
Decent, though I'm hoping to improve still. I went for 1-2 mile walks 4 days in the week (pushing a stroller, so give me extra points dammit). Did a strenuous 3 mile hike on Saturday. I did 100 squats a couple of days and an upper body weight workout today.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday/holiday tradition?
Christmas - It's just so cozy. I love the chilly weather when we can light fires.
Bonus Bumpie Challenge (borrowed from Nov. '16): Do a set of 15 squats 4 times this week.

What is your fitness goal this week? Get out for a run every morning, get caught up on my burpee challenge.
Any challenges this week? Being home and having my MIL press food on me! And just hanging around the shop. It's where I like to do my work though, and I see the flavors, and agh. So difficult.
How did you do with your goals last week? Okay. I took Monday off from working out because I was still sore from Saturday, and I wasn't able to go to my class this past Saturday because I was flying.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday/holiday tradition? This is going to sound super lame, but since converting to Orthodox Christianity, Pascha (Easter) is my official favorite. There's so much buildup, and the week before there are like, thirteen services, then you stay up until 2 a.m. on Sunday morning and finally get to sing all the really really happy Pascha songs, and then at the end you go and get drunk (er, unless you're pregnant, haha) and eat all the things you couldn't during Lent, and it's just really really wonderful.
I also like Christmas, too.

What is your fitness goal this week? I went for a walk Sunday, didn't do anything yesterday and probably the same today (just tired). But, plan on doing a pilates video I found on You Tube last week and hit up Zumba either tomorrow or Thursday. I'll be walking a lot Saturday, so that will count too.
Any challenges this week? Just the holiday yesterday, and being tired today... didn't sleep great last night and was awake most of it due to an upset stomach that is still around. So, I am thinking a nap is in order after work.
How did you do with your goals last week? Alright.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday/holiday tradition? Christmas... and Christmas decorating! Growing up, we'd always trim our tree the night of Thanksgiving. This day changes now, but I still love decorating and incorporating some decor from my past into what is out there now, like ornaments, decor given to me/handed down from family, etc. Now, I usually take the Monday off after Thanksgiving to decorate. However, this year I may just keep it simple with just the tree.
Bonus Bumpie Challenge (borrowed from Nov. '16): Do a set of 15 squats 4 times this week. Doable.

I'm doing okay in this area..I'd like to get in a few more veggies, and a little less fruit though. It's a lot of extra sugar. But I'm doing well with moderation.
What is your fitness goal this week?
Keep moving. Just ran 2 miles and walked another 2 so I'm off to a good start.
Any challenges this week?
Not really
How did you do with your goals last week?
Good..got the exercise in I wanted, still being a couch potato the rest of the day though.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday/holiday tradition?
Hmm..all of them? lol I love holidays. We had a lot of special traditions growing up. DH and I still need to make some of our own. It's hard being across the country from family because it means we often either have visitors, or travel ourselves for holidays so traditions are hard to keep and holidays get celebrated at random times. Hopefully with baby on the way we settle into a routine.
Bonus Bumpie Challenge (borrowed from Nov. '16): Do a set of 15 squats 4 times this week.
1 set done
MEAL PREP, so I can avoid the temptation while at work. Also, I've been slacking on my greek yogurt a day policy. And I want to include more veggies as well, so many gross me out but I need to suck it up!
What is your fitness goal this week?
Go for a walk at least 3x's this week, include squats and some arm workouts into my routine.
Any challenges this week?
I am out from Thursday evening-Sunday for a convention, so I have to really take the time to prepare my meals in advance and find time to work out.
How did you do with your goals last week?
First time setting my goals publicly, but with the holiday weekend my goals were only half met.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday/holiday tradition?
N/A
Bonus Bumpie Challenge (borrowed from Nov. '16): Do a set of 15 squats 4 times this week
I'm on it!!
Gain a pound so I don't have to cut back on exercise...but do so without binging on junk food.
What is your fitness goal this week?
As usual, 10k steps per day and 10-15 miles run/walked. Also swim laps a few times to prepare for a race on Saturday (swim 200m run 2 miles).
Any challenges this week?
The weight thing is getting to me. Last pregnancy I gained too much without changing eating or workout habits. This pregnancy I have not gained a pound and have not changed eating or workout habits. My Dr is not happy about it and gave me 4 weeks to gain 4-6 pounds. Mentally I'm struggling with what I'm doing wrong and how I'm having such drastic differences between the two pregnancies.
How did you do with your goals last week?
Mileage and swimming goals were met. Nutrition goal basically met. 10k steps goal fell short once.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday/holiday tradition?
Probably Christmas as a kid once my grandparents moved here. Now they are both gone (last year was the first grandparent less Christmas) and it doesn't feel the same for me. However now my DD gets to have a similar experience as I did and I'm thrilled about that. Black Friday shopping used to be a holiday for my mom and I but now it sucks with the stores opening while we are still eating and drinking...and online is so much easier!
Bonus Bumpie Challenge (borrowed from Nov. '16): Do a set of 15 squats 4 times this week
Maybe. I'll try. I'll put it on my spreadsheet.
I think you are more active than I am, but I'm trying to eat either an oatmeal or an avocado on the days I exercise to make sure I get the extra exercise calories in. Non exercise days (or days I just walk) I don't. Just a suggestion.
What is your fitness goal this week? do something active every day. I sat down and planned what to do each day. I will try to stick to that this week!
Any challenges this week? just yesterday, with the holiday.
How did you do with your goals last week? just ok. swam 3 days and did yoga twice, but didn't walk the dogs as much as I wanted to because it was over 100* all week!
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday/holiday tradition? I love 4th of July. The last few years have been kinda boring because my dog has slowly grown more and more afraid of fireworks so we have to be home with him or he tears things up. But we always had awesome 4th of July parties growing up and I would love to start some traditions with our little family when Baby is old enough
Bonus Bumpie Challenge (borrowed from Nov. '16): Do a set of 15 squats 4 times this week. I think I can do this. Will add it to my plan!
