GTKY - 4th of July Edition

Since I'm feeling festive this morning, what do you and your family do for the 4th (I know some of us answered it already in the 'spam' over the weekend)? If you're going to a party, how are you planning on getting around the "why aren't you drinking" questions?!

And because there should always be some fun in life, what has been your most EMBARRASSING hairstyle...?!

    Last night we went to a party at a friends house, we didn't get to stay long because it was raining and all DD wanted to do was play in the rain... I was too busy w DD to drink anything at all, let alone worry about making up an excuse as to why I wasn't drinking! We had some bud light platinum aluminum bottles filled w water just incase however.... today we are smoking 2 pork loins and having dinner w DH's family... 
    And because there should always be some fun in life, what has been your most EMBARRASSING hairstyle...?!
    My mom thought it was a brilliant idea to give me the ol' fashioned bowl cut right before I started first grade... I think I still haven't fully forgiven OR got over that one...

    I'm not going to any parties this weekend, but still wondering how to handle the "why aren't you drinking" questions when they eventually arise.  I'm usually the drinker!!

    im not sure I can pick just one haircut.  I had a pretty terrible bowl cut in 3rd grade.  I also decided a perm would be a good idea in middle/high school.  Ugh.

    Preliminary labs/testing @ 6 months: TSH, A1c, progesterone, prolactin, SA, HSG all normal

    I usually bbq and watch fireworks...yesterday I went to a lake party and drank moscow mules without the vodka and no one noticed. Tonight some friends will come over and I'll drink the same :)

    My mom convinced me to get a perm when I was in elementary school...looking back I look like I stuck my finger on a light socket because it got frizzy sometimes. I also decided in high school to chop off all my hair and have a pixie cut...I ended up with a mullet for half a year growing it out again.

    We usually host a booze fest party at our place, but this year I have passed on every party we have been invited to. I have no poker face whatsoever and, lets face it, I like to drink. Last pregnancy people found out super early because of this, so I figure I will lay low this weekend then re-evaluate from there. Plus, it's pretty crappy out here this weekend. The PNW needs to get it's act together, because summer is half over and we haven't had a nice one so far.

    I have to say bowl cut. That along with glasses and pre-braces teeth I was looking hot. Why did bowl cuts seem like a good idea?!?
    I will also add due to postpartum hair shedding my hair the past 6 months has looked like a 5 year old tried to cut my bangs, so I walk around looking like a hot mess always even if I try to put myself together.

    We are going to celebrate our freedom by power washing my in-law's deck. Jealous? Lol. At least there will be hotdogs.

    We did BBQs at two different cousins houses yesterday and on Saturday. Today I'm with DS at my mom's. We were supposed to ride on the parade float but after an hour of sitting on it without going anywhere the baby got super cranky, so I jumped ship and walked to my mom's house.

    Since I'm still BFing DS, it's been pretty easy getting around the question of why I'm not drinking. People have gotten used to me without a drink in my hand.

    And I think my most embarrassing haircut would have to be circa 1st grade, when my mom thought it would be a good idea to give me a straight up mullet. Why, Mama, why?

    Going to a block party at my moms house. It will essentially be lots of family. I don't normally drink that much in front of them so I don't think anyone will ask me the why I'm not drinking question. I'll be eating so I'll seem fine lol
